You need us to tell you to take him to a groomer?! Come on, woman! Let a pro handle his beautiful fluffy butt. I honestly never considered taking him to a groomer. I don’t know anyone who takes their cat to be groomed !!! In February 2020, I found a cat in my garage who had just given birth to three kittens in a box. The kittens were maybe an hour old. I brought the family into my home and here they remain. The mother is an American long hair cat. Not a Maine coon cat, or Persion. But she does have long fur (as does one of her son's (I know who is the father of the mother and son and he is long haired too)). The mother was heavily matted. Slowly I got all the matting out through brushing the mom. The mom spends all her time in one of my bedrooms (as do her three offspring after 9 p.m. every night). At bedtime the only thing she wants is for me to brush her. So for about three-four minutes a night I brush her. As cats get older their grooming becomes a bit lax. So the Maine Coon cat, once you get the matted fur off of him, will require a good brushing at least several times a week.

I saw this title and I busted in here with my big head - I am in finance, but have spent my career in animal health and the veterinary industries. Plus, I have owned many cats.. But I have absolutely no idea. 🤪

I no longer let her surf the internet as she might find more things for me to do to make her feel pretty.

Maddow makes surely he gets his daily brushing. At some point during the day he gets in my lap and it's obvious that's what he wants. He truly enjoys being brushed.
Amelia acts like I'm killing her.
