How do you deal with a wet swim suit when you are done swimming? Do you hang it up to let it dry? Inside or outside? How about the pool towels? Where do you pit them if they are wet, etc.? Do you wear your suit once and then wash it and or over and over?
We've had a pool for 20 years, and I have never felt like we had a good system.

I always get into the shower still wearing said wet suit, to rinse it. on a cruise, I'll use the clothesline in the shower to hang it after taking it off. at home, I'd hang it on the white vinyl shower enclosure outside. towels, too. I don't have a good setup at the new house yet, but I also haven't been swimming yet either.
what do you do now?

My husband thinks he is doing great, but really just ball it up and throws his suit over the shower enclosure. Sometimes I hang it outside on our towel rack. Sometimes I hang it in the shower. Sometimes I just do laundry. Sometimes I lay it out on our outside dining table or chairs.

The answer is single use bathing suits. Set up weekly subscribe and save orders with amazon to cover your needs. Suits go in trash and everyone is happy.

I belong to a neighborhood swim club that is only open Memorial weekend until mid September, depending on the weather. I hop in the shower with suit on and wash my hair letting the shampoo run down onto the suit. Since it is a communal shower I know the other ladies do the same thing. At the end I take off my suit and rinse it out. The suit and towel then get draped over a wooden drying rack set up in the garage to get ready for the next day.

I can't imagine it would take much time out there to dry things lately. not with the weatherbug pics I've been seeing for Chandler, anyway. I think a lot of what I do is ingrained from childhood and beach time. not sure how much help I'll be...

I used to be on swim team in high school and college, so was in the pool almost every day. Since I was a poor college kid, I couldn’t afford daily suit change. Suit would be hung to dry in locker and rarely got washed. As long as it was air dried it never got smelly or moldy. Over 12 years of doing this I never caught any diseases.

What I have noticed is if there is a good system for something, my family is more likely to comply (including me). So, I was wondering if I am missing a golden opportunity to have a good system. I doubt it because you have to go to your bedroom to change, so unless I put a drying rack in each bedroom, they aren't likely to follow the plan..

I dry mine either over the edge of the tub or over the deck railing.
In HS and college competitive swimming we looped the shoulder straps though the combination lock in the locker room. But that doesn’t work at home.

We dry our suits over the edge of the tub we don't use. The wet towels go on a hanger hooked up to the side of the house. It used to be tilling tines. DH painted it and now it's our wet towel holder.

I always rinsed my suit so the chlorine got out of it & wet towels went into the washer....did a load about every other day back when I was swimming often. I have both a wall mounted rack to hang things from and a free standing, wooden drying rack...I use both depending.

Could you put a couple of Command hooks in each bedroom, to hang swimsuits and towels on when they're taken off? At least they'd dry out between uses that way.

I need to get more hooks. That's why we're going on the side of the tub. My hooks finally gave out after almost eight years. I guess they did their job!

I had a metal coat rack outside when the kids were little and we hung everything on that - but that is when we would all just change in the backyard. 🙃 When we got the house painted we took it down and then hung something else there. If I can find the rack, maybe I can put it next to the door that goes into my bathroom. Then we can slip inside to change, but just open the door and throw it on the hook.

Competitive swimmer here. Suits are expensive -- I remove them ASAP and rinse in cool water, then dry flat. Towels get washed after every use (the locker rooms I use are, shall we say, less than tidy).

Your locker rooms were clearly nicer than ours. Before it mercifully fell to the wrecking ball, the Ft Lauderdale Hall of Fame pool had a locker room with black air vents. I thought they were painted that color. They weren't; it was mold. Kinda gives you an idea. The pool is being rebuilt. And both the pools I use are public, not private. It's mainly the chemical smell that bothers me the most.

Thanks to this thread, I finally ordered some more hooks for over the tub. Thanks!
