NECCO wafers are great, just not the black licorice ones. peeps and circus peanuts for sure Sugar Babies/Daddy Mike 'n Ike (whichever one was pink and white. the fruity colored ones weren't awful) and, for me, anything chocolate. but that's just me. I'm sorry. This pains me, but we can't be friends ever again I on the other hand want to be best buds with chiver78, so I am always close by when she turns down chocolate (good quality dark chocolate)

Black licorice Peeps NECCO wafers Circus peanuts Candy corn. But I love black licorice. It's the red stuff that's tasteless. Peeps are just marshmallows, fluff. Haven't had NECCO wafers in a long time - I think there were pink ones that were wintergreen, my favorite of them. Circus peanuts, also marshmallows, just chewier. Candy corn, hideously sweet to my taste but still addictive. Dont last long in our house. Can't stand: Anything banana flavored Anything green apple Sour gummy candies - worms, etc. I don't get the point of sour candy! Chocolate covered cherries White chocolate - too sweet, and tasteless I really prefer dark chocolate, a bit bitter to cut the sweetness, and anything with nuts, peanut butter, etc - a bit salty. I'm meh on hard candy - it's just sugar.

I imagine it was detectable until they moved their operations to Revere, Massachusetts in 2003 but if one walked along the Charles River walkway on the Boston Back Bay area side, you could smell the NECCO wafers being made on the Cambridge side of the river in the New England Confectionery Company factory. The factory was lit up at night too and you couldn’t miss it. it was right near the Lechmere T station and the Galleria Mall. I remember smelling that in the air when the doors would open on the Green Line at that last stop.

No one here like banana-flavored taffy? Like Turkish Taffy, or Laffy Taffy? I am SHOCKED, I tell you. (Send it all to me. I'll put it in the freezer, and break off small pieces to eat.)

What was that candy that was dots on wax paper? You had to lick the paper to get them off. So unsanitary, which is probably why I haven’t seen them in decades.
There was also some kind of Caramel swirl thing - horrible tasting.

Ah, that's another type of candy that I've found at Big Lots that my grandchildren love! And yes, they peel off and when you buy them they're sealed in cellophane so I'm not that worried about germs.

I don't really buy candy, and haven't for many years. Aside from a couple I have never heard of, the only truly revolting things on here are watermelon Jolly Ranchers and Peeps. My wife loved Peeps, and insisted that the kids and I get her some for Easter every year. I cannot swear that that was the beginning of the end for the marriage, but I can't really discount the possibility either.

What is with the watermelon jelly rancher hate? That's the only good flavor!
Cherry is an acceptable second choice.
The other flavors can go bye bye.

The only acceptable flavor in jolly ranchers and lollipops and similar hard candy is green apple. That's the only edible one. Cherry is acceptable as an alternate if things get desperate, but I'm not usually THAT desperate. 😂

Cherry and grape are the only acceptable fruit flavors. None of this blue raspberry crap or green apple. 🤢 I remeber when Jolly Ranchers used to be the sticks and not the little hard candies. He'll, I remember when we used to get penny candy and Slush Puppies in the little baseball hats at the gas station in my hometown. Oh! Those little fortune gum sticks. Orange wrapper and had a fortune on them. I need to look them up. And of course, for us smokers in training, candy and gum cigarettes. They tasted better then than they do now.

My kids love candy cigarettes. When we were at the lodge in Boulder Gwen was outside with my brother. She had just turned four. He came in laughing his ass off. There were ladies smoking on the porch. Gwen saw them and loudly proclaimed "Mommy let's me have those!" No he did not correct them because he couldn't breathe. I was mortified. I went out there to explain. They said they figured that's what she was talking about.

I SO want to jerk DS' chain by buying his kids candy cigarettes. I just threaten to instead.

I'm guessing Ludens cherry cough drops. Keep them away from me I'll eat the whole box.

Although I'm not a huge Reese's Peanut Butter Cup person, I'm sort of eyeballing their ads for Reese's Cups with pretzels. Just saying.

A couple of additions .......... Hershey's milk chocolate and oreo cookies ....... I'm with you on the oreos. The center tastes like eating shortening straight out of the can to me! My dad says there must have been a mix up in the hospital nursery. He thinks they are the greatest cookie ever.

Tootsie rolls are chalk masquerading as cheap chocolate.
I also don't like chocolate Oreos, but can eat a half package of the Golden oreos in one sitting.

Tootsie rolls are also good at breaking teeth. I have disgustingly strong teeth but yet I still managed to crack one with a Tootsie roll.

Candy isn’t my favorite, I’m a chocolate girl. But I also despise banana flavored stuff (but love bananas). And I’m also on the Necco wafer as the worst train.
