Years ago a coworker found out all of us in the department earned roughly the same and went storming off to HR demanding a raise because he was male and we were female, and as a male he needed more money.
We did the same job (lab tech) all with four year degrees, but he had a duck and we did not.

I think often about the parable of the prodigal son. I remember asking my Sunday school teacher if I needed to leave and come back to be appreciated, shown love and celebrated. And being loyal and faithful is for chumps. Apparently that wasn't the point?

And being loyal and faithful is for chumps. Apparently that wasn't the point? Right? It's like Shiel Silverstein's "The Giving Tree". The message I got from it is if you are a loyal giving person people will literally chop you up until there is nothing left to give. It's the boys who get rewarded in life not the tree. That was not the message I was supposed to get according to my grandma who bought it for me.

When employers give large signing bonuses or high salaries and don't make things square with current employees, it can go badly. If you want a bump in pay, now seems like a good time to find a new job.

Shel Silverstein's Different Dances might have things more (and probably less) likely to appeal to some of you.

I am reminded of a story about the guy who has the opening pick-up line of, "Let’s go ****." Ninety-nine times out of a hundred he gets slapped but that one out of ninety-nine makes it worth it. I knew of a guy who, as a HS student, would ask female students "Can I stick it in your butt?" 10% success rate, which was enough to encourage him to continue.

Also the argument why guys keep sending unsolicited dick pics. I'm convinced guys who continually do this either have a voyeurism fetish, i.e. it turns them on to know a woman is looking, or their personal kink is shaming, so they want to be told how disgusting they are as a person, how pathetic they look, etc. The other logical reason is they're incredibly stupid, and they think if they would be happy for someone to send them nude pics, women must feel the same way, so...... I've heard the theory that some men think it is a power move to force their pics on someone, and they get off on the power, but that is difficult for me to believe. Women would just leave the text on unread, and they lose their 'power'. I'm skeptical an unsolicited dick pic has EVER worked in obtaining copulation.

While I know what you meant, do you think I should demand higher pay because I have a skinny pig rescue and an older male crested gecko to support? Some men, much much younger than I have ideas like that, sometimes worse.

I think there might be as many reasons as there are dick pics. Some perhaps want to be accepted for their member and others may be coming from the belief that if they were a woman, they'd want to know right away. This is a question best asked of very many males in a TB created report, like Shere Hite's Qs on sex that became a book.

Wow, to put that in a cover letter is absurd. I agree they probably "had" to apply for the job to meet an unemployment requirement.
One that I hate during interviews is when the applicant asks for specific times off or weird requests during the first interview.

In a lot of the apps they send it in there's no way to preview the photo. So you either look at it or don't and guys don't exactly say "here's my dick" before they send the photo. I'm not saying all, but there's definitely some guys that get off on more or less forcing women to see their dick.

In the past, I've told interviewers of an upcoming planned vacation that will force me to take some unpaid time off. It's never been an issue. My Biscuit Bitch job promises a $150 signing bonus after six weeks for part-time work and $300 for full-time. I asked one of the current employees if the company had done anything for them for sticking it out during the pandemic. Nope. Way to go. WTF?

The proper response is to Google a pic of a huge dick, send it to them in response, say "Mine is bigger" or "You're not man enough for me".

And when they guy gets upset, which the all do, just say "I thought you liked dick pics? I mean why would you send me one if you didn't like them?"

Worst case they say no but it's never been an issue to date.

Sounds like someone who doesn’t actually want to work. Or it could be someone who thinks they’re going to get in with connections.

A first interview seems a little premature. I've always done it when they ask if there are any questions or potential problems, which is usually when they're going over how orientation/training will go, and asking about potential conflicts.
