Macabre Friday. Blood Drips on Sleeping Woman's Face From Ceiling Caused by Rotting Body on Floor AboveA woman has described her horror after she was woken in her apartment by blood dripping from her ceiling onto her face after her upstairs neighbor had died. Ana Cardenas, of El Paso, Texas, said she woke at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday after hearing a dripping noise which she thought was rain. Cardenas then saw blood which was dripping from her ceiling had splattered into the walls of her apartment, face, body and bed after being propelled by her ceiling fan. "It grossed me out, I was in shock, I thought this isn't real this is a dream, wake up," Cardenas told KTSM. "I called maintenance and they said, 'are you sure?' and I said blood is falling on me." Cardenas then called 911, with authorities later determining that her upstairs neighbor, who was aged between 55 and 70, had been laying dead on the floor for several days and had started to decompose. A friend of my brothers fell and hit his head in the bathroom, managed to stagger out to the living room, and passed away. He was not found for some time. The neighbors called it in due to the smell. My brothers cleaned out his apartment, because his own brothers could not face it. There was a patch of carpeting cut out where he had been.

A Lonely Death (Kodokushi) so sad. And I'm sure traumatizing for the person who discovered it.

And I would be moving the next day. That's horror movie level stuff right there. We had an elderly woman who lived in our neighborhood that was a shut in. Very mean lady and apparently had cut herself off from her family as well because we never saw anyone. The mailman was the only one she would open the door too and he noticed that she wasn't answering. He called 911. They found her dead on the floor next to the phone. She had been dead since Friday night. .. in 90+ degree weather. Yeah after that I've become so routine that if I am five minutes off when I usually show up for work people start to worry I was in a car accident. You can set your watch to my routine. I just need to keep this up forever and I am good. No way I want it taking 3 days for someone to find my body. Let alone get to where I am leaking through someone's ceiling!

Yeah, I’ve had at least 3 coworkers that were found dead in there homes and a major clue that something was wrong was that they didn’t show up for work, which wasn’t normal for them. The first was a young man in his 30’s whose Mom called to see if he’d been to work because she hadn’t been able to reach him for a couple of days. No, he hadn’t been to work. He was at home, in his bed, dead. A few years ago I’d called in to work but the automated system was down, so I had to call and talk to a supervisor on the prior shift. He forgot to tell my supervisor, so when I didn’t show up, my supervisor asked one of my coworkers to call and check on me. When I got back to work, I told my supervisor that I really appreciated him having someone check on me and to please not hesitate to do it again if it looked like I was a no call/no show, because I’ll never just not show up for work without calling in. Something like the OP would probably scar me for life. That’s horrible! I feel bad for people who die in their homes and nobody realizes it for a long time. It’s not like the deceased person knows about it, but it still seems sad to me.

That happened at the end of my block. Really nice lady, but she had no family. My grandma would help take care of her. She noticed she hadn't heard from her in a few days and sent my grandpa to check on her. She had been dead for a couple of days.

I hope there will be a service when I am elderly where I have to text some number every day, and if I don't text, someone calls. If I don't answer, they send someone out. That way, the most it could be is like 24 hours.

A friend told me that in her resort a woman was taking care of a dog for 2 weeks while the people were out of town. They got back, she was dead and so was the dog. 100 degree heat.
Another. An elderly woman who had cats ended up in the hospital and died. No one checked on the cats. They demolished the house looking for food and water. Also kept breeding.

My sister was found days after she died by her daughter. It was July, so not good. Thinking about her lonely end, and my niece having to see that is the worst.
