Got an email from these forums and that reminded me how influential and important it was to me to come here every day when I was paying my debt off. How is everyone doing? I am hoping to see some old timers in here? I am doing GREAT! Still debt free, zero credit card debt, fully funded 401k and Roth IRA, have 6 months of living expenses saved up. I got married too! lol She is a SAVER, my goodness. So smart with her money, so I am lucky there. Anyways, I just wanted to drop by and say "Hi" to those of you who remember me. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in these crazy times.

Hahahaah thanks! Yeah I can't believe it's been that long. Wow...almost 10 years. Time flies. Things has been good. I think last time I mentioned was that I meet this girl lol... well, we got married, as I said. She sold her house, but we kept my condo and we are renting it, so I guess that would make me a landlord. It's been going great so far, no surprises. We bought a nice house near the lake here in a great neighborhood. We were planning on kids, but that didn't pan out for us . Man, what an emotional process that is. So, we are destined to be just DINKs now (Dual Income No Kids). I don't mind that either! My financial situation: I finished school, debt free...with BBA. I decided not to pursue MBA due to cost/benefit factor. I am 45 now, climbing to that Director level corporate ladder...so blowing 60k at my age didn't make sense. I got a new job with an awesome company, finally hitting that 6 figure salary mark plus bonuses, so that helps tremendously. But, chunk of my paycheck is automatically going to savings. I am maxing out my 401k and Roth IRA every year. My wife is a SAVER. I mean, big time. She is so good with money. I have zero CC debt that I carry over. I do however, use Costco credit card for everything and pay it off in full every month. I do it for that nice annual check I have to say, I am in a best financial position I have ever been in, but I am also almost 10 years older, so...there is that lol I splurged last year and I bought a Harley. I love that thing. To have an option to hop on it and go for a cruise is nice. It's loud, it's all blacked out, and it's mine and I love it. Personally...uhhhh so much happened in the world...where to begin. Not to get into it, but I think Trump presidency really affected me to some degree past 4-5 years. I was never into politics until he came along and I have to say, I noticed myself filling with hate and anger. I couldn't stand him. I started to question my long time friends' moral compasses, thinking how could anyone like that man? (politics aside). That REALLY started to affect me to the point where I thought I needed to see a professional! It's crazy for me to think about it! But, I decided to shift my focus on myself and things are going much better. How are you guy and gals doing?

We were planning on kids, but that didn't pan out for us . Man, what an emotional process that is. So, we are destined to be just DINKs now (Dual Income No Kids). I don't mind that either! Welcome back! I'm sorry the path to having kids didn't work out for you and your DW. It is definitely an emotional process. My DH and I have a 9.75 year daughter and I'm pregnant with our 2nd DD. I still have 4 more months to go and not counting anything until she's born. In between both DDs, I've had 5 miscarriages in the past 4 years (each by 9 weeks). It sucks, especially when there are no answers (as with my case). [FWIW, I'm 41 (42 when DD is born) and my DH is 47.] One of my cousins is going through her 2nd round of IVF to have a child as both her and DH have issues. Implantation is expected in June, but it depends on some other tests that are coming up. (She's also had miscarriages too.) Some people have an easy time while others don't.

Congratulations on getting married to someone who shares your financial priorities. That's half the battle won right there.
And even though a Harley is not what I'd buy with my "fun money" (I prefer plane tickets), it sounds like the perfect expenditure for you- not a mindless accumulation of Stuff but ne thing that really makes you happy.
We're glad you're back!
