Wondering if Starlink satellites will eventually? Soon? Make connections to internet easier for those not serviced now by broadband?? If so will the money being spent for broadband be a waste in a few years? Anyone know when Starlink will be available in the US? Rest of world?

Do you realize that not all homes have internet, let alone broadband? It's either because people can't afford it or they live where they can't get reception. Of course- I acknowledged that in my second sentence. One poor guy the BBC interviewed said that his 3 kids were "learning" on the only connected device they had- a smartphone. They had to take turns, of course. The program I cited also provides some subsidy for buying computers. I'd prefer that they devote more of their $$$ to people who don't even have computers at home. As with the stimulus packages following the first (which was pretty much an emergency and needed to be deployed with a minimum of bureaucracy), I believe that they could have done a better job of finding the pockets of worst need and devoted the majority of funds to those areas.

The schools around here have been buying Chromebooks for students who have no computer to use. Of course, all of the schools were doing the same thing so the computers so they were delayed in arriving.
Hot spots were set up last spring in school parking lots and church parking lots. That's how some kids in the school district where I live were going to school last spring. No wonder it was a disaster.
