I read an article in Bloomberg BusinessWeek that the middlemen who sell to Sneakerheads made a killing each time the stimulus checks came out. I guess people were investing in rare sneakers.

If you are expecting a stimulus check and wondering when you will receive it (via direct deposit), here is the IRS web page where you can find out. It will ask you several simple questions (including your full SSN) only you know to verify you are who you say you are. I checked it for me and I am scheduled for it this Wednesday. IRS - Get My Payment

No stimulus for me...I received around $400 the first time around. I'm okay with not receiving anything. I make good money...my organization is eligible for the PPP this time around and we submitted the application on Friday. I am grateful for the PPP as it is more important for me to keep my good paying job than it is for me to get snowflake money I don't need.
IF I was receiving any, then I probably would buy some new furniture.

No stimulus here, either. Although I retired in 2020, I also married in 2020. So even filing early wouldn’t have helped. We shouldn’t receive one but when I see how high the income limits are for receiving one I want to scream.

The website says no info or no stimulus. But based on 2019 I get it and whenever I file 2020 I still get it. So I guess it's no info.

Then there is the refundable child tax credit - people that have kids get $300/month per kid? On top of the numbers listed above, people with kids will get another $3600 per kid. We have to be close to the point where having babies and working a low income job part time is better than working a higher earning job. I understand that is not permanent, but they are talking as though it will be. I will cross my fingers and hope it gets kicked out. That's for ages 6 and under, for the rest it's 3K and the credit was already 2K. Trump increased it to that from $1000 in 2018.
And sorry, I would take 150K AGI and no credit over 22K AGI any day. I don't have that option, but high earners can always just quit working if the feel the unemployed and low income have it so much better.
This is where I’m at. We haven’t been eligible for any of the stimulus checks and I’m okay with that. We don’t need it, and I’d rather not see money going to people making a similar income and up.

I have been spending like crazy since March of 2020 when everything closed down. I couldn't go out, or do vacations, so I shopped. I have nothing left to buy lol. I bought a hot tub right before covid, refurnished my entire house this past fall, gained 20 lbs from ordering food, then created an at home gym to lose the weight, spoiled the crap out of my dogs, gave to charity, etc.
I would like to remodel my laundry room, but I need some serious plumbing and contractor help, and I am having trouble hiring someone....I guess because of covid. I am also converting my detached garage into a studio for my elderly mother, so that will cost a lot.
Maybe I'll buy an ATV or something....I don't know, I'll figure it out somehow....

I fail at this one. So far, I've scheduled a transfer to my Refi Closing Cost account and a payment to my AmEx.

I've spent a lot lately, but it was really based on my $1700 tax refund. I sent the stimulus + $100 to savings to keep it "safe" . . . from me.

Yeah, we didn't get ours last time until the end of January. I was hoping to get it earlier this time. I'm still waiting on our tax refund as well. Those two together pay half the fence we're putting up!

My DH was stalking the accounts last time around. Now that it's more, he's just waving me off. So, I don't think we've gotten it yet, but I just don't know.

I got a scam call that I think was trying to steal my stimulus. Some company (didn't say which one) noticed a $1400 charge to my account and I was to press 1 to confirm or 2 to talk to someone. They left a message.
Checked all of my accounts and there is no pending charge. You are not stealing my stimulus.
IRS says mine will be in the bank tomorrow.
It's only a guess, but I am guessing tax refunds got delayed by issuing all the stimulus payments. You know extra people were not suddenly hired just to do that.

My bank showed it in my account several days ago, with availability on March 17, just like our SS. We only got our final tax document last week so I could send stuff off to the CPA so I think it will be a bit until we see a refund, if we get one.

We'll be holding onto it as part of our slush fund for the most part.
The last two went to debt, new sunroom floor and Charlotte's heart worm treatment.
We are debating replacing the siding this year. First we're going to see if the AC survives. We got it serviced last year to the tune of $700 so it better work but who knows.
IDK what we will get back as a refund. Last year floored me after the Trump cuts. It'll also go in the slush fund to hopefully go towards our annual vacation this year.
I do plan on getting a new rug for the living room and a proper art desk for Gwen. What an exciting life I lead.

Hubs and I are to get it and I assume MIL and DD.
The couple that rent from us, again, she is getting nothing or her DD. She has no income, filed a 0 return this year. She was excited again, went in to look, not eligible nor the daughter. I don't understand that at all. I think he is finally going to get one. But its people like that, that need it. I have no idea who she can contact. I'm betting there are others like her.
I'm looking for a good American made recliner to replace mine. It's not real leather I guess though they paid $1200 when they bought it for DD. So I'm looking at American made around $1800, want it in burgundy, with claw feet and wind back to match our other one. The other one came with the house stuff, its all leather and even with hubs wallowing it to death is holding up well. That will be anniversary and birthday present, when I decide which one to get. I am waiting for our local furniture store to get some, they sell a ton of furniture, she said they have a 100 pieces coming in, mostly recliners from now till mid April. They have been having an awful time getting furniture in, their stock is way down. She said they got 50 not long ago and sold out quick. they carry good furniture. I would rather buy local.

Ours showed up today in our account. We are buying a shed and doing some landscaping. But to be fair, we were going to do that anyway. Also, get one more kayak and a trailer to haul them - that is the fun side of the money!

That doesn't sound right. I found this: www.forbes.com/sites/terinaallen/2020/05/25/stimulus-checks-waiting-for-people-with-little-income-and-no-income/?sh=3468a6bb1a45Maybe you can help her figure out where to sign up? Otherwise, I'd contact a congressman over that.

Mine is in the bank. I'm making a donation to the volunteer fire department now (I always do that anyway) and ordering a locally made desk. I'm guessing the business is down there because she was targeting kids doing home school. At Christmas when I checked, the website said they were not taking orders. It doesn't say that now.

I heard one of our sales people complaining about not getting the stimulus. Our industry has had a banner year and I know several sales people making over 400k, but yep, totally not fair that they didn't get the stimulus.
We are really good at spending money, but I want to save it for now. If the economy can bounce back (and I want it to!) our banner year will be gone too. .

Mine is pending and my adult dependents did get it this time. Transferring theirs to their long term savings accounts.

Mine hit the account at midnight last night. Pulled it out of checking and into savings. I will wait a couple days then make a payment to one of our CCs and get that gone. I'll get my rug and Gwen's table then call it a day. The rest will stay in the account
We don't really need it but it is nice after all the destruction DH's habits caused to get a windfall. It would take me YEARS to get our EF to where it is right now. I feel like the universe decided to finally toss a bit of good karma my way.
And no he's not on the savings account. He may go back on checking again someday but if he wanted to stay married the savings account stays in my name alone.

We are going to the orthodontist today, I'm about 95% sure that DS is getting braces. Goodbye stimulus money! Easy come, easy go. (sigh)

We got ours yesterday. Good thing because we are spending $$$ on the AZ house. Between our Costco rebate of nearly $900 + stimulus of $2,800 we are doing our part to stimulate the AZ economy.
