I'm in the Two Comma Club!!! Ran my monthly NW calculations today and just squeaked over the line at $1,007,712.00 Thank you tax refund and totaling my van! About 200K of that is home equity.
The most amazing thing to me is it is up 276K in the last 12 months alone.

Awesome!! And truly amazing given that you weren’t a high earner. That shows some serious commitment and smart investing!

I'm going on a spending spree to celebrate. I ordered a portable jump starter for the car and tomorrow I might go crazy and get a new Fitbit.

I see you eating cat food in retirement you spendthrift!! 😉🎉 No way! Have you priced cat food! That stuffs expensive. I need to break down and get jeans too. It's to the point where my fat thighs have worn through all my pairs. I went on to Old Navy to just get a couple more of the exact same thing and it's been so long since I bought that they don't make them anymore. Dammit. Had the same thing happen to me the time before when Pennys quit making the style I had. I swear next time I find jeans that fit well and are comfortable I'm going to buy a dozen pairs.

Well done! I like it when the investment account grows by an amount that exceeds the pay check. Especially if the growth is a few times your annual pay check.

I will never hit a million, and I am fine with that. Between the pension and SS, I have as much to live on as I did when I was working + I don't have to save for retirement. I am not rich. I never made over $64k. But that's enough to live on if it is just you, yourself, and you.

I've never made over 50K at my job and that was with a crap ton of OT two years ago, but I won't get any pension, so if I want to take home 50K/year I'm going to need a lot of savings.

and you just checked now? Yeah. I always do NW on the 1st after the mortgage posts, but since it was a weekend and nothing was going to happen between now and then I got a jump on it. I'm sure it looked better a couple weeks ago, but I did get all my tax refunds and the van payout this week.

My pension, though, only increases with an act of the legislature. They haven't passed such an act in 12 years so I can't count on a COLA. That is what my retirement savings are for. One day what I take home now won't be enough. The retirement savings will help.

I ordered that portable jumper starter you mentioned, hopefully I won't need it. I had Amazon credits so it was $20 well spent IMO.

Since you track so well, can you tell me if you're doubling every 7 yrs or so? Like the rule of 72. Just curious as I'm watching that for my own planning having just crossed 500k.

azucena I've only been tracking closely since April 2012. But, I can give you the annual retirement numbers since then. 4/12 - $175,629 4/13 - $220,713 4/14 - $236,608 4/15 - $277,239 4/16 - $282,048 4/17 - $343,524 4/18 - $404,024 4/19 - $461,495 4/20 - $485,363 3/21 - $662,904 So, up 487K in the past 9 years, but I contributed 165K in those years between 401K, IRA, HSA and employer match, so 322K growth. Of course, the last few years have been pretty crazy. If I pulled the 9 years prior to 2012 it would be a lot different.

azucena It does more than double if the stock market does well. Between Jan 1st 2006 & Jan 1st 2009, my 401k increased by 1000$, even though I had put in close to 50K and employer had contributed 10K. Those were discouraging numbers especially when they were so small to start with.
