I am thinking of refinancing my house and equity loan into one 15-year loan at a fixed rate and was looking at going through Costco. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions for choosing a quality company through them? We aren't intending to sell our house for a long time, if ever, at the rate we're going. Before, we've gone through our long-time bank who we like but the closing costs are really high. Any thoughts on this? I haven't done a refinance before and our equity loan, that I want to pay off, was a long time ago.

I have never gone through Costco on any of their services, but it won't hurt to ask questions.
The few people that I know that have done things with Costco are happy with the results but none have been with a mortgage.
Good luck and let us know the final results

I've sent two PMs to you. At first I thought it didn't go through. Now I don't see the message I just very carefully sent via PM.
Can you please send me a PM and I will try to reply to it?

I closed on our refi in December, going through Costco. Went well. 2.50% on a 30 year fixed, no escrow, no points. Total closing costs were around $2,700 (rolled into the loan), no out of pocket cost (we actually ended up pocketing $700).
That being said, I have since heard about lenderfi and better.com, and people getting even better deals there. Either better rates and/or lower closing costs (true no cost refis by giving up a little bit of the rate). If I would do it over, I would for sure check out those two. There are people that report closing in 2 weeks, crazy. It took us 3 months from rate lock to closing with Costco.
As for picking a company at Costco's mortgage service - I would not worry. I am sure they are all reputable, Costco stands behind it. Just pick whoever gives you the best deal if you go that route. I think rates have gone up a little though, in the last week or two.
Good luck!
