Trump to speak at CPAC in first public appearance since leaving White HouseFormer President Donald Trump will speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida, next Sunday, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The source, who is familiar with the former President's speech, told CNN on Saturday that "he'll be talking about the future ..." Okay, he has a prepared speech to talk about the future. My bet: he goes off script quickly to focus on his "victory". Unless of course it is prerecorded and edited.

That and then he’ll list all the GOPers who he now hates because the didn’t support him post Jan. 6th.
Plus he’ll throw in some jabs at Hillary and Obama.
He can’t help himself.

what are they calling the event?
Trump unleasher? unmuzzled? Back in the groove?
Something catchy I'm sure!

I hope the national media stays far, far away. they won't. they love a good dumpster fire. Not to mention a good super spreader event. Because, yanno our governor is all for masks and social distancing and all that science-like stuff. Of course, the damned convention is in Orlando. Because the home of the most magical place on earth is a freak magnet for QAnon die-hard, gun-toting, conspiracy theory slogan-swearers who want nothing more than to wear Mickey Mouse ears AND MAGA hats at the same time.
This is exactly why they call it Flori-DUH. I bet my off-the-rails sister in law goes...she lives about an hour or so west of Orlando. I already banned on FB. I found out her kids did the same when she sang the praises of the late and not lamented Rush.

Still in touch? I would love it if Pence calls Trump once a day on his private cell phone number, calls him a fucking asshole, and then hangs up. Does that count as ‘staying in touch?’

Did he apologize for inciting a riot that left police officers dead and injured?

I didn't watch it, but I'm gonna guess that's a no. He would never apologize for anything because he sees himself as perfect.

I listened to some on Cspan. I was flipping to the weather channel and just happened to see it. It was the same old stuff, I listened for awhile then turned it off. I heard how Bidens first month was a disaster, depends on the view I guess.
Enough of him. There were only about 1000 people there with that ugly gold statue, crazy city. I'm done with him, hope we can keep him out. He did say for people to get vaccinated, which was a surprise.

Did he apologize for inciting a riot that left police officers dead and injured? Said that had nothing to do with him. Barely mentioned COVID too. Pretty much the same snake oil weasel talk we expected.

engineerdoe - the linked tweet floats in and out of the post. What the heck!? And yes, I posted it in reply #20. The whole thread is good. If you have Twitter I highly recommend reading through it. edit: I have noticed other people have said they linked Twitter but didn't see the post, now I wonder if it is because I use Chrome as my browser. I can't go to Twitter anymore on Chrome and had to download Tweetdeck.

Kinzinger: Trump just wants to 'stand in front of a crowd and be adored'
GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger (Ill.) on Monday responded to former President Trump’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) speech by saying it was “obvious” that Trump had no vision and only wanted “to stand in front of a crowd and be adored.” “I think, you know, what you could see at that speech yesterday was recycling old talking points. You know, just stream of consciousness and I think it's obvious there is no vision from Donald Trump there's no desire to paint a vision. All he really desires is to stand in front of a crowd and be adored and he got that in ample amounts yesterday,” Kinzinger, who has emerged as one of Trump's most vocal GOP critics, said while appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “This president has done nothing but reflect people's darkness back to them, reflect their fears back to them,” Kinzinger added. “It was sad, but I'm still hopeful that, you know, 45 percent of people at this Trump rally didn't want Donald Trump again, and I think there's a growing number of people out there that see he's a has-been.” Complete article here: link

HAH! I posted that on another board today where the OP claims they are the best band ever, better than The Beatles. I told djAdvocate once that I liked the Bee Gees and fully understood that it was a clear indication I am a philistine when it comes to music. Decent enough group. I know I have 2 45’s from the 60’s in my collection but can’t remember what they are. As for other cuts? Dondub did not do disco!👹 if I wanted to dance, and I did, it was James Brown, Soul roll and rockin’ daddy blues.

He was saying how great Wilson Phillips was and how he would be listening to them the rest of his life. I told him "probably true" but no new generation would be. Pop music imprints on a younger age group and then moves on to new stuff for a next age cohort. Except, of course, there is a very small amount of work that transcends the common. Mozart and Beethoven did. Schmitenmeyer had his following in his day but who remembers him today.
