He should just resign now. I'm giving 3 to 1 odds he won't! Can I put you down for $20? sure. I will take that one. do you want me to donate it to charity if you win, or do you want to "transact" this.
so, $20 pays $60 if he quits? just making sure I have it right.

They're trying to get him out of office so that the replacement governor can pardon Trump. She's a Democrat. They're saying she's a DINO. Trump's got 2 buddies set to run for gov of NY. (Sorry, forgot to add in first post this is what I'm reading on Twitter.)

I think he will quit, so I was playing the long side of the bet. have we found any takers for the short side?

So, what are the allegations against him in a nutshell? Please forgive me--I don't want to waste too much time going down rabbit holes (too lazy to read a bunch of crap), but what I've seen on Twitter is a kiss on the cheek, a hug, and a flirtation. What's the smoking gun?

What's the smoking gun? Inappropriate comments. Asking a 20 something employee about her sex life and whether she’s into older men. He’s on his 60s. Being a little too handsy. Nothing really horrible but not good either. And now we have 6. Last one alleges unwanted hugs and kisses.

Well, there go Cuomo's Presidential aspirations!
I'm hoping the US is not stupid enough to do this twice.

This is a real problem for the D's. They want to "do the right thing" and punish people who have this smear on their record. But, the R's are not taking that stance. It is costing the D's good (yet imperfect) candidates and leaders. And, if a popular incumbent is driven out by his own party, there is a better chance the opposing party can grab that position. Meanwhile, the R's shrug and keep the people they like, and their supporters stopped caring. Are "we" the party that does the right thing? Or do "we" want to hold positions? And is there a balance we can get to? It would help out a lot if all these creepy guys could keep their hands to themselves. Granted, a lot of accusations (bipartisan) are somewhat zombies. If they were skeezy in the 90's, but pulled it together - are we just punishing them for revenge? Is it worth the sacrifice? If they raped someone yesterday - absolutely kick them out and send them to jail. But, Al Franken's dumb picture - I don't know.

I think pushing Franken out was a mistake, and agree with you there thyme4changeWhat troubles me about Cuomo, in addition to the allegations by the women, is the alleged nursing home cover up. If it is credible that either of these occurred as averred, he should step down, imo. Men can "hit on" women, it is part of human nature. Men in positions of power should not "hit on" junior staffers in both position and age, and the same goes for anyone (women) in such roles. This is reason for him to step down, imo.e

This is reason for him to step down, imo.e Thyme can clarify, but she said she wasn't sure, not that it was a mistake not an isolated incident, not a long time ago, but taking advantage during photo ops when women would be hesitant to "make a scene". After he was in politics. of course the right jumped on it, and would they have been wrong to call hypocrit if nothing was done? If we don't starting taking a hard line on this kind of abusive behavior, if we don't start saying no - you can't treat women this way and still expect to remain unscathed by your behavior - then When? When is it finally going to be not-ok to casually touch a womans butt when she doesn't want you to? I'm going to ask you deminmaine to examine why you are so willing to let this be nothing. Because you liked him before it came out? because he espoused similar political ideas to you? It's easy to call it out in someone you don't like, but the principals should not change when you like or agree with someone. That is a big piece on why this has been so hard to root out - when men won't judge men. when men defend men against these accusations, when they won't call them out or censure them on it. Sure, I'm sure franken is a nice and funny guy, to guys, but he also used women as props for jokes sexualizing them when they were asleep(?), thought it was ok to casually touch their breasts and butts, and I don't think he should be in a position of political power. He used his celebrity as an entertainer, he used the political power as a politician, to do this. I don't think it's ok. and I don't think it says anything nice about who he is under the smile either. And I do think if 8 women came forward, that there are likely a lot more that didn't.

The problem is that women's groups were willing to give Clinton a pass on this for political expediency. I thought(and still think) what he did to Lewinsky was sexual harassment, and many of the same people who are up in arms about this were silent. It led to the hypocrisy complaints when they complained about Trump. I think Cuomo should step down if these accusations are true, and I agree that Democrats need to call their represents out when it happens. But there is a price to be paid for it, as the other side will not play by the same rules.
In the late 90's, if I had a sexual relationship with an intern, I would have been toast at my hospital, and am still pissed about the defense of Clinton

They all know better but it’s some kind of power imbalance mental illness. One would think that Cuomo would easily attract women of his own age for more normal interaction. Who doesn’t think Bill Cosby could have been laid by a willing woman partner of a certain age every day? Instead he drugs the unsuspecting. Criminally mentally ill. Cuomo should resign and go quietly into the night...

If he did what he is accused of, someone knew, and covered it up and it was tolerated to win elections. The people who were complicit because they wanted power or some other political gain were also culpable. Until that sort of behavior is rooted out, we will continue to see this happen. If we want it to go away, there needs to be a zero tolerance policy, and some people who are thought to be "rising stars" in the party need to be sacrificed along the way, otherwise, without consequences, we will consider to see this happen, and wonder why it does not get better
