That is scary. I hope more of the reasons are forthcoming including how this resident had a gun.

That is scary. I hope more of the reasons are forthcoming including how this resident had a gun. While the resident facility handbook says no firearms allowed, there is a good possibility they don't check the residents. Someone could have brought the guy a gun. Not hard to do if there are no metal detectors at the front door.

The assisted living facility is around the corner from where I used to live.
I'm sure there are no metal detectors there.
Don't know if you read it or not but the 95 year old was found asleep in his bed when the police came for him.
As for the resident saying the 95 year old owed him money, that could be very iffy. If he has dementia, he may not really know. The employee had been there for 8 years and one would think the money thing would have come up before.

Per the Boulder Daily Camera, the 95 year old has had guns removed from his room previously.
He has accused this particular caretaker and his ex-wife of stealing his money. Those accusations have been investigated by police and they are not true.
He is deaf and communicates through writing.
He is in jail on a cash bond.
I'm sure after this, if he ever gets out, he will not be returning to that assisted living facility.
Sounds like he needs memory care or a nursing home.
