Maybe she has Multiple Personality Disorder. Her Congressional personality is a Christian victim of the Democrats and the media that is unaware of having anything other than mainstream Republican thoughts. The other personality is a complete wack job Qanon conspiracy crazy that thinks Jew lasers started wildfires as part of a Rothchild plot. And more. That personality was elected and has immediately morphed into the first one in the last 24 hours. Simple. she seems to be under the impression that knowing that her past statements are whacadoo makes them forgivable. it doesn't.
if I were to scream racist shit at my employees, I would not expect to EVER be forgiven.
ever.
oh, and on top of it, she hasn't actually apologized. she just recognizes (according to her) she was wrong.
Well, of course...because recognizing the problem is the first step towards....stepping into a bigger pile of crap. Which she will certainly do, now that she has more time on her hands to raise money and gain followers. Yanno, important stuff for an elected official.

One thing especially that Greene said to Congress really pissed me off - that she was ‘led to believe’ about QAnon and Sandy Hook. No, no, no. You are a grown ass woman, and grown ass woman ought to have the sense to know that any asshole can write whatever bullshit they want on the internet. Any grown ass woman ought to know the difference between drunk uncle writings and actual journalism. Any grown woman ought to know to check several different journalistic sources to see if they are all reporting a similar story in order to check the veracity. Claiming you were ‘led to believe’ makes you sound ignorant, gullible and subject to believe literally anything put in front of you. Not a good look for an adult, let alone an adult who is supposed to be representing a whole voting district. in a just universe, this would be grounds for dismissal. seriously. someone this gullible should NOT be ALLOWED to lead people. I mean it. really.

She really, really needs to see that there are folks in her district that don't believe a word she says...that they are smarter than her.

No. Greene was not led to believe. Own it. If she was smart enough to get elected to Congress, then you are smart enough to research for yourself these claims and look for multiple sources to prove if true or false. Or, there must be a very low intelligence bar to get elected to Congress today. Greene is living proof of that as is her leader, donald trump, proof even unqualified idiots can be president. Well she kind of fell into it. There were a bunch of people in the GOP primary and the normals split the vote between them leaving the queen of the lunatics to win. And around here, Dems really never have a chance, but her opponent ended up dropping out due to a divorce and she ran unopposed. Now we’re stuck with her until 2023 - hopefully some normal gop person will primary her.

There’s also a democratic candidate who has stepped forward to run against her - an ex-military guy who was disgusted by that video of her attacking the high school student. In this area, though, I think we’ll have a better chance of defeating her in the primary with another GOP candidate, Dems really don’t have a chance in this district.

I wish the media would stop giving her air time. She does not deserve to be the story of the month. Did they learn nothing from giving Trump all that free air time? there is a difference though.
Greene is consigned to powerless troll status. as is Trump. they will likely fade into (mostly) obscurity.
after all, they can't really do shit. and the powerless badmouths end up in the spam file.
Do you really think so? Most of the GOP seems hell bent on clinging to Dear Leader, and their side appears to be winning the battle against the traditional conservatives at the moment. Logically, that road should end in nowhere but failure, but one just never knows.

Greene who says Trump is and will always be the leader of the GOP and the Romney/ Cheney side who says the GOP is the party of Reagan and Lincoln and they need to move past Trump. Frankly I don’t understand the devotion to Trump since he lost the House, then the presidency and even the Senate. Yes he had 74 million people who voted for him in 2020 but primary him against any other GOP candidate and would he still win that many?

But he still has enough support that his Q-wacko candidates could primary out many conservative institutionalists. The question is how they'd fare in a general election. Logically, they shouldn't win many congressional districts, more than a few Senate seats (tops) and never the POTUS. But who knows? There are so many people who would never vote for a Dem and still live in the thrall of right-wing propaganda...

they worry that without the "uneducated" they can't win.
and they are probably right.

Locally, they may not like the attention she has brought to bear, but there's not much evidence that many in the GOP disagree with her. 199 GOP in the house voted to support her retaining her committee positions - and only 11 voted against her. Meanwhile, 61 voted to strip Liz Cheney of her positions. We would love to believe that there has been a reckoning on the GOP - that they've had their come to jesus meeting and are going to get their shit straight and back away from the crazy. But it is NOT true. By a margin of 199 to 11 they are fully on record supporting certifiably crazy. We do best not to forget that for even a minute.

Honestly - and call me a pessimist- I wouldn't say "only 11" voted against her, but "11 crossed over to be against their party, that is progress!!" I wouldn't say that 199 agree with her. But I would say that some number of them do, and the rest are chicken or obedient or loyal or owe someone something or just don't know how far the party can get away from the base, so they are sticking with the crowd hoping there is safety in numbers. The real question is: How many agree with her vs how many are chicken shit? There could easily be 175 chicken shits, and 24 crazies. There could also be 24 chicken shits and 175 Q-anon sympathizers. I can't tell. All I know is those 11 put themselves on a limb, but at least there were 11 of them.

I can't tell. All I know is those 11 put themselves on a limb, but at least there were 11 of them. 31 democrats voted to impeach Clinton for his BJ. 11 GOP voting to strip her of her committee positions (not censure her, or remove her or impeach her - just no longer on a committee) seems like the opposite of progress. In any case, are you arguing that "too scared to disagree with her" means something more positive for the GOP than simply agreeing with her? If your constituency makes you too afraid to vote against demonstrably crazy, I don't see that as progress. ETA: I thought about this and I disagree with your premise that not 199 agree with her. Is it possible? Sure. But the only factual evidence we have to go on here is that 199 voted for her and 11 against. This is the point I was making in my original post. We have to stop believing that there is a rational GOP wing that is secretly is against Trump and Greene and those like them because we want it to be true. All that we KNOW is true is 199 vs 11. So, when more that 11 GOP in the house vote against her, I will believe that more than 11 are actually against her.

You need to compare apples to apples. 199 GOP publicly voted to support her; 61 GOP voted ( by secret ballot) to strip Cheney. If there was a public vote on Cheney, I believe that the 61 number would be significantly higher.

I would rather be dealing with elected individuals that are supporting her because they think that is what their people want vs an elected official that really, truly believes that Tom Hanks and Hillary Clinton are in the basement of a pizza place wearing masks made out of the skin of young girls while drinking blood of said girls and laughing their asses off because they faked 9/11 and destroyed democracy by fixing the election. But, I see where you are coming from. It is still all bad.
The problem is these Q people are so loud that it is hard for the GOP to ignore. If they were elected to represent their people, and their people are supporting MTG, aren't they doing their job by supporting her? It isn't just about getting reelected, it is about doing what you were hired to do. And they may have been hired to support the party, no matter what.
I don't agree with them, and I think they should take a longer view and rid their party of this shit pile. Let the Q's peel off and find they don't have the support they think they do. All we have to do is get the moderate Republicans to get louder, and donate during the primaries. If they aren't doing that, maybe the Q portion of the party is larger than we think.
I honestly don't know what to think. The GOP is a total shit show, and if they don't pull themselves together, the country will continue to suffer.

On Wednesday, Greene filed a motion to adjourn the House -- a procedural move that forces every member to come to the floor to cast a vote to keep Congress in session. She's done the same thing repeatedly over the last few weeks.
Why? Pointless delay. And grandstanding. ... link Wonder if the GOP will put up with this long term?
