Update on my confirmation. Overnight Walgreen's site came back online and sent me 4 emails confirming my 2 appointments.

Yes, the walgreens site has been overloaded.
DH slept from 12:30 to 6 when I woke him up and fed him dinner and a gatorade. Then he slept from 6:30 clear thru to 8 am this morning. He woke up feeling stiff but better after showering. So 12 hour exhaustion about 12 hours after his second dose. No fever - the kids and I took turns zapping his forehead while he was sleeping LOL.

I woke up to an email from our healthcare provider that they were establishing a registry for 1A and 1B folks. They got 1100 doses last week and were able to keep them safe despite the extended power outage. I realize that it will probably be many more weeks before we get shots, but just being on a registry is a big step forward.
Sadly, it appears that our governor will soon remove mask mandates and allow full reopening which will definitely curtail my activities even if vaccinated. There's no way I will be exposed to 50 to 100+ unmasked people, vaccinated or not.

I am so glad my governor is being a real hard ass about not reopening to early. Is rough on the economy but better in that hoards of sick people aren't straining what's left of our healthcare system.

Getting on the lists hasn't been helpful in MO. There are 300k+ on the list with mass clinics doing 2000 shots. And it's not clear that the lists are even being used.
I've been following this local fb site which blew up from 3k people to 20k people in the last two days as it hit the local news. St. Louis and Eastern Missouri COVID-19 Vaccine Info
You might want to check for similar fb sites in your area. They are posting phone numbers and appt links. I've helped 15 different people get appts thru this site. It also seems that they are finding a loophole that if you put your name on the list more recently (ie a second time since Jan when they opened), you get picked for the clinics. This is crazy but has been reported multiple times.
Yesterday I started taking senior citizen requests from church and making 3-4 appts per day since I'm online all day to jump on the openings.

My parents, 78 and 79, got their first jab last weekend. I am massively relieved. They had to drive 50 miles to get it in a county that wasn't even adjacent to their own.
They were not the oldest people there, not even close.

My governor is merely an ass, currently trying to curry favor with some folks in the wake of the electric grid failure and resulting nightmare.

The decision to not get vaccinated was made for me by a local clinic that sent a text message that they had vaccines and people recovering from covid 19 are not eligible for 90 days. I was wavering until then. Cancelled appointment. Good news, CVS will be offering vaccines after 2-25-21. No locations were given. Edit: H. has an appointment for shot 2 very early in the morning. He said I have to go in case he has a reaction. I have not driven a vehicle other than a golf car since last October. If I have to drive, it will be 3 very busy freeways. Yikes. Today I will take the care out and drive the neighborhood
Makes sense. Jersygirl - thanks for the Uber idea. H. said he will not have a reaction that quick. I'm not so sure. They do have epipens available from what my daughter told me. I will deal with it when I get there.

I'm seeing reports of people getting vaccinated at places where I was supposedly on their list and I was never notified. I'm on CVS' list, for example. Their corporate site shows no availability in MO yet people near me are getting vaccinated at local CVS stores. I registered at a major medical center. No word from them and yet someone on NextDoor said her husband got an appointment by calling them. God willing, I'll be vaccinated by this time tomorrow, 70 miles from home, but I won't believe it till I see the hole in my arm.

I received my first shot this morning. I'm a teacher and in my state you sign up on a list for educators and then it is based on a lottery system. People 65 and older can schedule appointments through Sam's Club, CVS, Walmart and Walgreens but no one else can. I will receive my 2nd dose on March 26th at the same location as the first. I'm very thankful but I wish my husband who is obese and 60 years old would be able to get a shot too.
So far my arm is a bit sore and I had about an hour where I felt nauseous but it seems to be passing now.

Jerseyguy had first Moderna vaccine thus morning. DIL goes tomorrow and me on Tuesday Took hours each day and evening to look for appointments. NJ has a website and registered first on this day our group 1b was eligible- nothing but one email last week that listed the approximately 50 sites . All have different websites asking sometimes detailed extraneous info - male female and 3 other gender choices, some have 2 captchas to get to log in page, user and passwords that require baroque choices etc etc
NJ governor included over 65, 16-64 with medical issues, prisoners, smokers and a looong list of jobs including ....... real estate agents
After a month sites had bright idea the websites might be ‘difficult’ for elders without computers or skills. So finally some sites have phone numbers. Lots of FB volunteers trying to help in middle of night and wee hours of the morning. I admire the amazing work to develop the vaccines but the actual vaccination process is a bureaucratic convoluted mess Idiots are possibly in charge Once appointment is made the actual vaccination sites are well organized

The websites were not an issue for me b/c I am tech capable but physical access to the available sites was/is challenging. I am registered on our provider's website, but only time will tell if the available shots are within out driving range. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person affected in this way. I cried hard today when a 30 year old friend with a 1 year old daughter shared that she may never be able to have a second child because of the damage to her heart and lungs from Covid-19. And she was never sick enough to be hospitalized. Another family destroyed

My grandma has been on wait list in her state for a month now. She's 90. There's a single list. I called today and verified she is registered. The local health department is the one scheduling though and I couldn't get them on the phone to see where she is on the list. I see at least 3 clinics were conducted in her county this week but no idea how many shots they had to give out. She's getting upset seeing others get theirs and said everyone but her is getting one. I'm going to try harder next week to get in touch with the health department.

Dh and I both got poked yesterday with the Pfizer .... and now I have to get online to register for the second one.
With me working I don't have access to a computer. The daughter of the owners of the company where I work spent most of the day Wednesday finding a couple of appts for us on Thursday. She knew all the right moves. No reaction at the time for either of us but I woke up about midnight with every joint in my body aching. Not painful, just achy. Took a Tylenol to calm things down so I could sleep. Took another one this morning before going to work and now have a slight ache. DH was tender at the shot location this morning but is ok now.
Personally I think the Band-Aids should have a bulls eye on them ......

I'm going to try to schedule my mammo really soon b/c our provider says do in advance of the shot, or wait 2+ months after to avoid a false positive. I was due for the mammo fall of 2020, but too scared of the covid and doc didn't push it. Now, I'm sort of screwed. Oh well.

There have been some reports that vaccination causes a swelling of the local lymph glands. A mammogram picks up this swelling as an abnormality, when in reality it is the natural reaction of your immune system being kicked into gear. I don’t remember hearing how long the glands are swollen, so I would try to get a mammogram before you plan on getting vaccinated. I’ll be due for mine in May too. If I don’t get vaccinated by may, I’ll try to get my mammogram in first. Otherwise, I’ll just punt my mammogram down the road a few months.

I just had my annual gyno yesterday (it was supposed to be in March of 2020). They scheduled my mammogram for the first week of April. This is from our provider's FAQ I have heard that the COVID-19 vaccination can impact the results of a screening mammograms and CT CHEST screening exams. I am due for a screening mammogram or a CT CHEST screening, but plan to or have taken a COVID-19 vaccine. What should I do?
Vaccinations of any kind may cause lymph nodes to appear enlarged on imaging exams. Lymph nodes are part of the immune system that play a vital role in your body’s ability to fight off infections and after vaccinations, lymph nodes may get larger as your immune system ramps up production of antibodies. To reduce the incidence of a false positive screening mammogram or CT CHEST result – or the need for additional evaluation – we recommend that if you are due for a screening mammogram or screening CT CHEST now and have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccine, please have your screening studies done before your vaccination. If you have already had the first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, you may wish to wait two months between the final dose of vaccine and the scheduling of screening studies to minimize the potential of false positive results.
This recommendation does not apply to patients with breast lumps or other breast conditions who need a diagnostic mammogram. Only patients without breast symptoms seeking to schedule a screening mammogram should consider this recommendation.
Similarly, this recommendation does not apply to patients who have CT CHEST scans ordered by their doctor for chest or respiratory related symptoms. Only patients scheduled for surveillance CT CHEST to screen for lung cancer should consider this recommendation.

For those who have future appointments for there second shot make sure close to your second shot date your provider does have the second dose of the vaccine on hand.
This past Wednesday I was able to schedule my first and second shot appointment dates and times. The shots were be provided at my local Kroger supermarket.
After the first shot was administered, the pharmacist handed me my paperwork and a card with a record of my first shot date (and other medical info). She asked me what date my second shot was. I told her when I scheduled the dates the second shot was booked for March 18. The pharmacist said no. She turned over the card with the recorded first shot information and date given and it showed a new date of March 25. Okay I thought.
When I got home I noticed the card did not say what time I was supposed to show up on the 25th for my second shot. So I called Kroger and asked for the appoint time.
The pharmacist stated no time was given as all the Kroger were not sure if the vaccine would be available on March 25 and other future dates. The pharmacist stated about 9 days before March 25, I should go to their website to schedule an appointment.
So make sure your second date is a go and the vaccine will be available.

Thanks for that advice! I just got the first dose today and I have a date and time for the second; they were very good about sending me reminder texts for this appointment so I trust they'll be proactive and let me know if they don't have enough for the second. This site was so well-run that I'm glad I went there even though it was over an hour away. The one near me (that the county didn't even tell me about even though I registered on their site) had old people waiting in line in the cold for over an hour. The site I used had you wait in your car till 15 minutes before. they even had people driving "trains" for those who needed help getting from the car into the building. I've already made another hotel reservation for the night before the second dose; it was a nice change of scenery.

My BFF got her husband on the schedule, but, like @athena53, she had to accept an appointment a few hours away later in March.
She and her husband have been through it. In late October, her husband's colon burst and they had to do emergency surgery. Then it abscessed. He bounced back and forth between the hospital and rehab until the end of January. She tentatively asked if they had an extra vaccination that she could take, explaining the situation. They told her to come back in the afternoon and perhaps they could do it. She broke down crying, which I don't blame her for at all. They suddenly found her an extra. She called me during the 15 minute after wait, so excited that she had gotten it!
Good timing. Yesterday, the day after the shot, they readmitted her husband. Another abscess had formed. They had to remove more of his colon. He will be in the hospital another week.
Thank God she got the vaccination. I don't know what they would do if she got covid and couldn't take care of him.

Wow. I'm in the process of losing some friends. I was (very slightly) obese, lost a lot of weight, gained some back.
So no longer obese, but definiitely overweight.
K told me, I can't believe you're eligible, I'm so jealous! And like an idiot, I told her, you are too, for weight! She went MENTAL on me, told me how much she loves her body just as it is. Um, OK, but you told me you'd do ANYTHING to get vaccinated, and I'm telling you that you're actually eligible too.
A told me, wow, I'm shocked! How do you feel about getting a vaccine you're not entitled to? A REALLY PISSED ME OFF!!! We absolutely ARE entitled!!! And like K, A is MUCH heavier than me, so she'd be entitled too!
But I learned my lesson after K, so I just kept my mouth shut with A. Both DH and I are overweight (but not obese), I have asthma, DH has severe hypertension. It's not being overweight that makes us eligible, it's the rest. But K and A are both obese. And like an idiot, I thought I was doing K a favor by telling her she's eligible too.
I thought body dysmorphia was thinking you're fat when you're not, but apparently it's also thinking you're thin when you're not.
Lesson learned!!! So now I keep my mouth firmly shut! But it PISSES ME OFF that apparently these close friends think we've "cut the line" when we absolutely have NOT.
PS DH and I are only eligible for the "second rate" vaccine here, the AZ. We are not eligible for the Pfizer or Moderna. And we are absolutely fine with that!!!
To be clear, much of Europe doesn't want the AZ vaccine. We are VERY happy with it!!!

Screw them, I just want to be able to post that we've both been vaccinated tomorrow!
But these are very close friends, and their reactions really upset me. I'll live.

My aunts girlfriend is clearly obese. In my state, 65 and above or under 65 if you have certain health conditions, qualify you for the vaccine. I called them and told them they qualify (aunt is over 65). Girlfriend was very offended. I’m not apologizing because someone can’t accept That they are fat. Later I found out she did sign up for the vaccine She was just mad because I thought she was obese (she is). Bitches be crazy
