Anyone have one?
I gave my stepmother a Christmas list, and while there were much cheaper things on there, I put an instant pot because I don't have one and like my crock pots and wanted something easy, and she got me a Ninja Foodie which is like, big and does all these things, but I'm thinking there is going to be a learning curve... and some things overlap other things I have...
If you have one, how do you utilize it most?

My friend has one. From what she says it seems to function just like an instapot if you use it the same way. From what I've heard the instapot has a learning curve too.

I bought one this spring when my oven broke and we use it all the time. Of course we do eat a lot of crap too, so there's that. It's perfect for things the kids want to throw in for lunch like chicken nuggets, fish sticks, french fries...and I can reheat things without them getting soggy like what happens in the microwave. Right now I have a couple chicken breasts in there. I put frozen ones in the pressure cooker for 10 minutes, then take them out and put barbeque sauce (or whatever) on them and hit them with the air fryer for a bit to crisp them up on the outside a little. They come out so good and it's so much quicker than the oven.

I have the Ninja Foodie that grills, roasts, air fries, dehydrates. I roasted our turkey breast in it for Thanksgiving. This week I grilled steaks, asparagus and bell peppers. I have grilled burgers, sausages, chicken, etc. We have air fried panko shrimp, fries, egg rolls, etc.
I love it! I utilize it a lot, and gave it a "home" on my limited counter space. It is easy to use and comes with a quick guide on temps/duration for tons of foods and prep.
I never got into using my Instant Pot. I do use my slow cooker frequently (made Italian beef in it yesterday).

Um. What ninja foodie do you have? I impulse bought one that is multi functional (grill, air fryer, toaster oven, maybe some other stuff) but I don’t think it overlaps much with our instant pot. I think there are multiple different appliances under the foodie brand? I also haven’t taken ours out of the box yet because then I’d officially have to find a place for it

Yes its that one... but I also have a really good dehydrator and air fryer options for instance and don't need to slow cook... I have a ton of crock pots.
I've been reading about it but honestly find it a little intimidating, lol. Going to try a few things this weekend.
MPL... do you do any like full meal cooking with rice/potatoes on the bottom, protein and veggies on different racks?

My kid has, done pork chops on top potatoes on bottom before and those turned out well, but I haven't myself yet. I haven't even cracked a Foodie cookbook yet. Just been tossing things in and seeing what happens. LOL But, it's not a slow cooker. It's a pressure cooker. Like...gets the stuff done in 15 minutes that you would cook all day in crock pot. DS is making hard boiled eggs for breakfast in it right now. They come out perfect and easy to peel.

This one has a slow cook setting, which I don't anticipate ever using? ... and I doubt I'd do the dehydrator either. I can see me using the air fryer and getting rid of the air fryer I have and never use... the Cuisinart oven air fryer function is ok but if this one is better and will be 'out', I'd probably use it more. we will see.

Yeah, I couldn't ever see using it as a slow cooker either. The kids love it because it's so quick for making frozen foods. Your food is on your plate in less time than it would take to preheat the oven most of the time. We hardly ever use the microwave anymore and only use the oven for baking cookies or when it's something that won't fit in the Ninja.

Oh, I see. I got the Smart XL grill, with only 5 or 6 functions. Which is still a blessing because after ordering I saw the ones with the built in rotisseries and would’ve felt obligated to get one for DS’ sake... We already have an instant pot so I’m good with being the uncool foodi owner

I thought about getting one of those grills but: 1. I haven't even figured out how to use my instant pot yet. 2. I have no room in my kitchen on the counter or to store it 3. I discovered buying those appliances, for some reason, doesn't make the food magically appear when I want it. (I'm kidding, but maybe not totally. 🤐)

Mostly #3 Although, DH set up our new arrival-rearranged things to make space for it, washed the interior parts, read the directions and everything-just because he wanted fries. And lo, fries did appear upon the table, and they were good. Actually, really good. So maybe I shouldn’t give up hope just yet?

My mom got me the 8qt InstaPot Duo Crisp for Christmas (very similar I think to the Ninja Foodi).
I haven't really used it much yet, but would also be interested in what others are using it for. So far I have just used the air fryer lid a few times.
I have plans to finally cook the dry beans I have on hand (one of the biggest draws for me of the pressure cooker). I also want to try a cheesecake. I will probably try a beef stew in it next time I make one instead of using the my slow cooker like I normally would.
I cook for one, so I can myself getting more use out of the air fryer feature to roast smaller batches of vegetables and potatoes without having to heat up the entire oven.
I used it last night to make a small meatloaf. It came out pretty well, but I have to get a better handle on converting conventional oven temps/times to the air fryer.

I did rice, chicken breast and zuch/carrots last night. It was ok. I can tweak a bit. Good base. Would be better if I sauced chicken but we all like different things, still I could cook up lots of components and then put them in the fridge to assemble as needed into whatever stir fry or soup people want... anyway first attempt.

DBF has been saying for months that he wants one of those contraptions, but he hasn’t bought one yet. I think I’d be like oped, kind of intimidated by learning to use one, but that’s not saying much in my case, because I’d be good if I could eat good food for the rest of my life without ever having to actually cook again. So if it will keep DBF cooking, I’ll buy one myself.
I showed him the one in MPL’s link and asked if that was the one he’d been eyeing. He said it was another brand, but it does all the same stuff.
I guess I should pin him down and get him to show me exactly what he wants.
