Little Indiana has started running between 4500 and over 5000 one day. It's going crazy here.
There are more in hospitals right now then when it peaked.
And yes I ordered another case of TP last week, 80 rolls in it. Hope I'm good for awhile.
I need to make sure I keep enough catfood on hand.

Governor issued a new state of emergency in Utah, tonight. Issued a mandate requiring masks, telling people to limit social/family gatherings and put school sports on hold.
I bought an extra pkg of paper towels tonight and a couple boxes of Kleenex anti-viral tissues, various sizes of bags and trash bags. But I will use them, not save them. Hopefully I can get by. I also picked up a pulse oximeter, just in case. Since getting oxygen is a big issue.
Yikes!

I'm picking up our monthly grocery order soon. This month I focused on proteins, as our garage freezer is a bit sparse. The order includes a 5 LB chicken breast package, 4.5 pound package ground beef, ground pork, ribs, shrimp, salmon, a ham, steak, and a few sausage selections. Normally the order would include a large package of cod, but we still have a package of that and a package of flounder on hand. Our usual napkin brand wasn't available so I had to substitute. DH picked up another large package of TP last weekend, just in case. I told him the way he proudly posed with it when he brought it in, he could be a TP commercial, LOL. We're flush with PTs.
Tonight's order also includes ingredients to make a pie and cheesecake for Thanksgiving, if we in fact go to mom's this year. Grateful those items are still available. I stocked up on a lot of HBAs from Amazon last year, so I've only had to buy toothpaste, fem stuff, vitamins, and a few other odds and ends this year. Corona has finally hit my extended family. I've no major symptoms, but am lying low, just in case.

Well, you guys got me all paranoid so on my regular trip to Costco I bought a 30-pack of Kirkland TP. It was the only brand they had but I'm not picky. I've still got 14 rolls from the pack I bought in March so I'm good. I've also got plenty of soap, hand sanitizer and the general cleaning liquids (have some Pine-Sol left and a new bottle of Fabuloso, another brand).
Even with a shutdown, as long as I can get some sort of food occasionally, preferably decent fresh vegetables, I'll get by.

Aisles are starting to show empty areas of tp, pt and sparser dish detergent. Other than those no decrease. NJ cases are increasing but I’ve never seen anyone w/o mask in stores. Qualified that I’m not going to many stores. I’ll remember for a very long time the shock of seeing meat cases empty when lock in was just a rumor and started in 2 weeks Nothing like that yet We have plenty of staples, detergent pt, tp, tissues so mostly buying fruits and veggies when I do shop. Bought long life boxed milk and 6 cans of evaporated milk. I remember my dad who grew up in South Carolina telling me about using evaporated milk

jerseygirl, your post gave me a flashback to March, when things started to get real around these parts. The cash register line inside Sam's Club was all the way to the back of the store. I'm going to text DH to see if he'd like to stop there after work.

If you dowload the Sam's Club app their Scan & Go is great. No waiting in line, just scan and pay with the app, then show a code as you exit. It saves a lot of time and exposure to everyone else in line.

I wonder if they, similar to Walmart, allow for one person to order, and another pick it up? This way I can order and pay, and DH can pick it up since he works in the same town. (He doesn't yet have a personal smart phone for ap downloading purposes, LOL.)

Hmmm... I've never done the pickup option, so don't know. I prefer to go inside so I can find extra items I "need."

I bought a case of paper towels last night on Amazon. That will last us well into spring.
The worst thing is that it's hard to stock up on meat because I have the world's smallest freezer and fresh foods. We could do without for a period of time, but I'd prefer not to.

I had been planning a trip on Friday and I've been picking up extras as I shop. I expect further restrictions to be put in place next week.

My $362 pickup grocery order last night included substitutions for Campbell's tomato soup, among a few other things. I asked for 3 1 gallon jugs of water, and they gave me 2, so not sure if they are rationing again. Out of stock items included Tylenol, ribs, and sausage links. And, much to my chagrin, chicken breasts didn't make it to my list. I fueled up the truck and did a few other errands in anticipation of another lock-down.

I've been seeing signs up starting to limit cleaning supplies again, which is discouraging. but, I can plan around that. I have been meaning to go check out the BJ's location in my new town, and I think it will finally happen in the next few days. I will buy one of whatever I can with paper products and cleaning supplies. last Walmart pickup order, I was subbed (3) 2pks of paper towels for my 6pk order, getting around limits that way (I guess?) and (3) 3L jugs of water instead of a 2.5gal dispenser jug. not sure if either of those are indicative of larger supply chain issues, or not.

Cleaning and paper products have been limited here since March.
I wasn't running out yet, but since Sam's Club finally had yeast back in stock, I bought some. They only come in 2 lb packages which will last me a long, long time.

My local store didn't have any paper towels, so I ordered a case of the cheap Amazon brand. They arrived yesterday and are perfectly fine. Not a bad deal. But, must they ship them in a box that has huge letters telling everyone who drives by my porch that I ordered a case of paper towels so I look like a TP hoarder? lol

Just in can our Governor does something dumb at his noon press conference, I made a little run to WMT. Milk, some chicken salad (pre made that is really good) and some pre made potato salad. Added a few bananas. They didn't have the bread I really like so after his press conference I'll go to the bakery and buy a loaf of sour dough and regular white bread.

Went to Sam's Club today and they were packed. All the checkout lines were halfway to the back of the store. I guess people are stocking up again, not sure. Lots of traffic everywhere.

With the Governor ordering a 2 week freeze starting next week, I'm wondering how much panic buying it will cause.
DH and I did decide to move our grocery day to tomorrow instead of Monday.

I posted this link on another thread but it tracks time out of the house as measured by cell phone pings. (Yeah, very 1984 Big Brother.) www.tracktherecovery.org/Click on Explore the Data. Go to the top menu, select Public Health/Time Outside Home and you can get graphs of the amount of time spent outside the home by state by activity if you play with the graph selections. Grocery Store shopping nearly always shows a peak just before the lockdown no matter where you look.

Well our grocery trip was a mess.
Apparently a lot of other people also thought that going to the store at 7 am right after the governors announcement of a new shut down was a great idea.

I just hope when I get out of quarantine, there is food left! I'm exaggerating, but I have certainly been cleaning out my freezer. That's fine. I need to buy fresh food to put in there.
Tuesday morning I am declaring the quarantine over! That lets me hit this week's sales, which were good if anything is still there. Honestly, i feel like I'm getting out of house arrest!

ADDED: there's an "advisory" lockdown that starts on Monday morning. So, I opted to make a grocery run (that maybe I could have done with out) - as in: I had a bunch of really good coupons, a $3.00 off the final register total and a $10 off (if I spent $50) so I stopped out at meijer's last night (after 7:30pm). I called a friend and got their shopping list too. I didn't need much (lots of $1.00 and $2.00 or less stuff) and wasn't sure I'd get to the $50 total (after all the discounts to get the additional $10). I did find all the products I had coupons for (about $12 in savings on some pricey stuff that doesn't go on sale. so Yay!). And I did cross the $50 total so I got the extra $10 off. Over all a success. And now I am officially set for "thanksgiving" and shouldn't have to grocery shop (if I don't want to) until the end of January. Probably will - for fresh veggies and eggs /diary but I can get by without going. the # of covid cases are climbing as are death rates - so stay safe out there (or just stay home) everyone! And of course, my jet setting family is expecting a family get together for thanksgiving. they are coming in from Florida and from having traveled to Texas and Phoenix and who knows where else. They talk about how they eat out at restaurants and watch the Big Game with lots of other people and can't understand why there's anything special about Covid19. My BFF talked to her brother in Texas - and he now knows/worked with 4 people who have died of Covid19. Needless to so say he is NOT coming here for thanksgiving (the first time in 20 years). Yah, covid19 is only special or a big deal when you know someone who's been really really sick with it or who has died from it.

Apparently a lot of other people also thought that going to the store at 7 am right after the governors announcement of a new shut down was a great idea. Thanks to the winter snow, the traffic through our town has greatly diminished. The constant stream of trucks pulling campers have gone home for the winter. I won an online auction for a local organization, so I have to go pick it up on Monday. I think I might find the meat market and get some hamburger for the freezer. I read on their website they take your order in the parking lot and then bring out whatever you order. I'm curious to see what the grocery parking lots look like. Now that the tourists are wintering over elsewhere, I assume the stores will be a lot less crowded. I assume this "freeze" will look the same as the lockdown did - everything closed for a couple of days and then the revolt started. We have 62 cases now. Crazy. Trying to stay home and away from other people or enclosed spaces as much as possible.

Just announced on the local FB page that Costco was out of TP. There is a press conference tomorrow, I think we are getting SIP orders.

Went to Sam's Club yesterday and they finally had their Members Mark TP in stock. I don't think they've had any in the store since March.
Whenever we've been to Costco lately they've had huge stockpiles of TP and paper towels, several stacks to the ceiling.
It seems like the restocking has gotten better around here lately, in Indiana. We did notice yesterday that there seemed to be a lot more people out and about and in stores. Parking lots were nearly full.

I think the Covid stockpiling has run head-on into the Thanksgiving prep shopping and we're all seeing a double effect.
Thanksgiving needs Tpaper too!

Reading this at least made me get up and take stock. We are OK on paper goods for now. For my weekly WM stop next Saturday, I may add some stuff, but really, we have enough to get us through for awhile. Of course, my state is not on lockdown, and it should be, given our positivity rate of over 10%. But our idiot governor is drunk on COVID mythology and conspiracy theories, so no on expects him to actually do anything sane.
I did a massive clean out of my pantry, and aside from some standard stuff that I normally keep, like canned soups, we're doing OK. Ran out of soy sauce last night, so I will get some today when I head out to look for a turkey breast. Now THAT has been an issue. I am finding huge turkeys (25 pounds and more) but nothing small. We are also experiencing some oddball shortages: Gatorade (it was invented in this state!), disinfecting wipes (rare to see them around since April, though I did score some two weeks ago), my cat's favorite fresh pet food, dishwasher detergent, and certain brands of frozen foods.
