Yesterday I was numb. Today I just feel angry and sad. This is so much harder than it needs to be. ETA: He's still alive but because of Covid this was the only time he could be visited; a "meeting" in the care facility to ask him if he's ready for Hospice.  |

I'm sorry Bonny - is there a chance you will be able to see him in Hospice? Technically he's not in Hospice he's in "Comfort Care". It's a lot like Hospice but he can still get anti-biotics. He needed two rounds last week because he got pneumonia likely from aspirating his food. Due to Covid 19 the Hospice team can't visit the facility, everything is done virtually. Since he can't see or hear there's no real benefit to having Hospice. And it seems cruel to change his team when he's likely to pass in the next week or two. Yesterday was it for visiting. The Director of Nursing went out of her way to arrange for both my brother and me to visit. |
