I guess they had to try, but lost cause to talk to Trump about climate change
From the meeting with Gov. Newsom and California’s secretary of natural resources.
“We have to do a lot about forest management. Obviously forest management in California is very important, and now it extends to Washington and extends also to Oregon,” Trump said. “There has to be good, strong forest management, which I’ve been talking about for three years with this state, so hopefully they’ll start doing that.” “If we ignore that science and put our head in the sand and think it’s all about vegetation management, we’re not going to succeed at protecting Californians,” Crowfoot responded. “It’ll start getting cooler,” Trump replied. “You just watch.”
“I wish science agreed with you,” Crowfoot said. “Well, I don’t think science knows actually,” Trump retorted, laughing.
A lot of the fires in California start on federal land (at least the ones near me that were started by lightening). The state cannot manage that land. Only Trump can so his ignorance is especially troubling 3 kids evacuated to my house again. Not sure if my sister in Santa Rosa is evacuating about 1/3 of Santa Rosa is evacuated, including almost all of the East Side. that side of town is all suburban, with some nice luxury houses on the ridge. 113 structures have been destroyed. they are setting fire lines in Annadel State Park. the fire is 0% contained.
68,000 people have been evacuated.

4M acres destroyed so far this year.
2x the old record.
for those that are wondering, the state is 100M acres, 5.7M of which is forested. this year was devastating to our forests.
if you look at a map of the county, the fires this year pretty much burned EVERYTHING that remained from 2017.

Everyone I know has been evacuated at least once this year. Including my sisters in Santa Rosa, Morgan Hill, and us in Clayton. All 3 evacuations in my town were as a result of lightening strikes starting fires in the federal preserve. We're fine and back in now Did you evacuated? At least most are now able to go back ..... if there's anything to go back to

i have had it, though. i am moving. this looks like a permanent change. the biome is being altered to suit the environment.

The Mullen fire in WY is being snowed on!
The fires are so bad because of poor forest management.

The Mullen fire in WY is being snowed on! The fires are so bad because of poor forest management. I visited Yellowstone National Park in the spring of 1989. This was after the 1988 fires in the park with burned about 36% of the park. Fire scars everywhere.
