I'm getting a kick out of the pearl clutching over the song.  It's the same drivel that men have been signing for years, we're just not used to a woman talking about it so graphically. 

And it's hella catchy.

I don't particularly like the song, but I've never particularly liked Cardi's music style. Nothing to do with the lyrics. They make me chuckle. Much like the pearl clutching does. No one has a conniption fit over the male rappers and if you ask me a lot of their stuff is way worse than hers.

My sympathies to his poor wife. The lady parts tell the truth about our mates sometimes even when our hearts and minds don’t. On the other hand, lady parts can also get us in a LOT of trouble by liking no good ass men, WAP ain’t for everyone.

I have been shocked at how many supposed educated women don't have the first clue about their bodies and how sexual attraction works physically.   If she has never been with a competent courteous lover (which if she married the dude who thinks being wet is a problem I think we can say that's a given) and all she sees all day are women with issues . . .when all you have is a hammer.

I found out Gwen has listened to the song multiple times last night.   The song nearly gave DH a stroke.  I said why you hear men sing songs about this stuff all the time, why are you clutching your pearls at somebody who actually knows what she's talking about singing it? 

I asked Gwen if she knows what the song is about. . she gets it's about sex but not all the lyrics.  I told her I am not going to forbid her from listening to it because it's not like I can take her CDs or cassettes away from her, she found it on Youtube.   However for the love of all that is holy please don't listen to that around MIL.

Then again it would be highly entertaining to see her reaction. . bet it would top DH's.

Back in 1967 the Broadway musical Hair premiered. A cast album of the musical's songs followed late that year. I bought the album. There was one song I wanted to make sure my mom heard and watch her reaction. The song was Sodomy.

But I have to admit, it's kinda nice to hear women singing about this kind of stuff in "pop" music rather than from a guy's perspective

I don't know why, but when I listened to Cardi B - I went to Prince singing "Soft and Wet" (from 1978). Followed by a bunch of "jazz/blues" songs sung by women from the 40/50's....  Cardi B's not signing anything new... she's just getting a more mainstream air play.

They are the same. They just sell to different markets. Cardi B seems like she's angling to get herself someone like Kanye and Melania might need to go fish for the next rich white guy.
