Let’s start with his claim he should get be allowed a third term. He claimed he could shut the country down, claiming ultimate authority. Deferring payroll taxes, not something he can do. Signing his executive order about pre-existing conditions. It goes on and on. But defend him because you want to. Just own up to it I see no record of him attempting this. Are you getting these 'claims' from political rally nonsense. So far I'm just chuckling a bit, it was the 'defending' projection in your post. Other than TRUMP'S OWN WORDS

Maybe you need to take some of Biden’s drugs to help your memory
Are you saying Biden is a druggie?

You're making my point. Like I said, political rally nonsense. A politician will say just about anything to a target audience. Plenty of jokes going around for years, on a trunk full of hats to wear, as a politician makes the rounds at rallies. Do you think just Trump does that ?

I wasn't sure. COULD you PLEASE just stop with your stupid "insults?" You are NOT witty 🤷♀️ I wasn't sure what you were posting about children being 'sad robots' on a thread about judges. Only you would call children sad robots. I work with many children at the roller rink, none of them are sad robots. They seem happy and full of fun as they interact NORMALLY with each other.

Why are you all still feeding the troll? ?? He's talking about what he thinks trolls are. To tallguy, trolls are anyone who doesn't agree with his political/socio-economic ideals. He uses it as an attempt to stifle discussion of topics he doesn't agree with. If the discussion doesn't happen, certain embarrassing pieces of information won't be brought to light of day. Basically, you shouldn't enter a discussion with anything outside of his ideals framework, you shouldn't say anything. If there's conflicting opinions to be clarified/discussed, the troll is the person opposite of his ideals. It's one of the main reasons for the First Amendment.

Hmmm, should I file the 'drug use' claim with the 'stopping research' claim ? Pots calling kettles black and all that. Whatever, you are not that clever. Trump demanded Biden take a drug test. Defend it as posturing. I prefer a president who can speak in a manner befitting the office. Continue to troll, I am out. Don't bother addressing me, I have better things to do

Exactly what prompted my earlier question. LOL, and yet you are here. Filler or simple trolling. You too should re-read #310 . It’s not like this jackal is the only one posting here. Some even have salient comments and not just an ego aggrandizing stroke show. Imagine that.

And the ones we don't want to waste time reading we don't have to. Apparently I'm supposed to read #310, but I don't even see anything between #305 and #313. Guess there's nothing there.

originalism makes no sense. it is impossible to reconcile with the 3/5ths rule and any amendment after the 10th.
imagine what the US would be like without those changes. kind of like Iran, probably. or worse.
thank GOD we have a living constitution.

Only impossible when you don't have the VOTES. blacks never had the votes.
they still don't.
not sure why you took on that tiny fragment of my argument when my main point was to suggest what the US might be like if the originalists were ALWAYS in charge here.

Because no one will 'always' be in charge. The system is set up to discourage that. .

"Does the Constitution give the Senate -- let alone one senator -- the power to 'put everything on the table'?" (from link above) Yes. And the right for that very same Senate to approve a new judge, nominated by the president. DJ's claim of fascism seems a bit weak to me, knowing what an actual fascist state is. my claim was that Germans in 1932 didn't see what was coming, and that we don't either. I didn't feel like the remark was very controversial.
they didn't. we don't.
my comment allowed for your outcome: everything will be fine. it also allowed for the possibility that things will not be fine at all. I was merely stating that we should all be paying attention, and not relying on our "feelings" about what has been to dictate what might be.
rather than addressing the point, you came after me. and for some dumb reason, I thought apologizing for any perceived injury might settle things down, then you came after me again, today.
really not getting it, D23.

I have not lost faith in this country. I believe everyone gets a chance to get some of what they want. The political pendulum will continue to swing back and forth. that is far more optimism than I have.
I have been watching the political center move right for FOURTY YEARS. I have feared the US becoming a fascist state since I was a teenager. I fear it now more than ever.
i wish i could find comfort in the fact that you don't, but i don't. fortunately, i don't need to. but i pity those that do.
All countries have some fascist tendency baked in, how can they not. Just like they have the liberal counterbalance in place also. I don't see us anywhere near, going by the definition. I retain a positive outlook because things really aren't nowhere near a traditional fascist state, nor the opposite. I prefer to stay in the middle, where we are. i could list the case for it, right here, but really i have no time for such exercises in futility. you won't agree. i get that. i am sure that Germans in 1932 could not see what awaited them, either.
for the record, i hope i am wrong. this was once a great country, and could be one again. but it really has to start in a few short weeks, or i am afraid we have swung outside "stable equilibrium".
Your claim that started this was that you have seen the country move closer to fascism over the past forty years. You then chose to not support that claim. I have@ to agree with x that your claim of fascism is weak. I disagree with him that it is wrong.
