When we lived in the UP, some Canadian channels were included with our cable, and we watched The National on Canadian TV every night at 9. It was a real eye-opener to hear and see the Canadian take on US news. Yeah, when the ex first moved here from the US, he couldn't believe what he was hearing! |

Trumps complaint is that Goodyear held some kind of training class where they reviewed proper workplace behavior. As an example of what you can’t wear, they said MAGA hats. Trump was pissed. What he doesn’t get is that pretty much every company won’t let their employees wear political, religous or offensive clothing. trump tweeted to boycott Goodyear products. All of the presidential vehicles along with secret service vehicles have Goodyear tires. Expect to see all those vehicles jacked up to remove the Goodyear tires. Not! [ Trump needs Ohio. Goodyear is based in Ohio. Once again Trump shoots himself in the foot. |

World news Belarus is a mess because Lukashenko is being a corrupt a-hole. UK and Europe still don't have a trade agreement, because the British are being a-holes. 19 countries are seeing their Covid rates rising. Covid is an a-hole. China is flooding, but they are still lying about their Covid numbers, because dictators are a-holes. The Amazon is on fire (so is CA and NV). Because 2020 is an a-hole. Africa is being itself, overthrowing leaders and protesting and whatever. But we never notice, because we are all a-holes. California is experiencing fire tornados. Iowa got blown up by whatever the hell that was that blew at level 2 hurricane force winds. WTF 2020. |

I just hope the president (any president) is never allowed to have a twitter account again.
I also like the idea already mentioned that Biden should bring in advisers from both sides of the isle to work on things, we’ve been stuck in a rut for too many years, if we keep failing to move forward we will quickly be left behind.

I just hope the president (any president) is never allowed to have a twitter account again. I also like the idea already mentioned that Biden should bring in advisers from both sides of the isle to work on things, we’ve been stuck in a rut for too many years, if we keep failing to move forward we will quickly be left behind. Not me. I hope they require presidents to have Twitter. Then we know if they are smart enough to hire a social media specialist that handles white house and personal communications with intelligence, class and dignity or if they are a bozo who show their dirty butthole because they just can't help themselves. |

Iowa was hit by a derecho, a weather term I had never heard before. A swatch of of the area hit by it had 140 mph winds. We had a derecho hit here in July, 2003. It was later nicknamed Hurricane Elvis. I was not home at the time it hit. I was up in Washington, D.C. conducting a work investigation. But watching the Weather Channel early that morning and the radar images of the storm approaching Memphis I thought this was going to be bad. And it was. Due to the damage in the area and some damage to my house and property, I left Washington early. Memphis Summer Storm of 2003/Hurricane Elvis |

There are still people without electricity. Obviously since all school buildings in the Cedar Rapids school district were damaged, school will be late and will be virtual.
