I have no opinion as to whether the law was on their side as I'm not really familiar with the Castle Doctrine. NY doesn't have it. However, I DON'T CARE IF THE LAW IS ON THEIR SIDE. STFU!!!! Any time they open their mouths, there is a possiblility of an inconsistent statement or a misstatement that can be used against them. They apparently did not listen the first day of criminal law in law school. Attorneys don't make misstatements, do they ? yes, they do. They're human too. ie, Rudy Guiliani.

I doubt it. that appears to be a hoary bat, which is microchiroptera. my money would be on a fruit bat (megachiroptera). the microchiroptera weigh significantly under a pound, so they make about as much sense for eating as do mice. I am assuming that the animal market was for food, of course, but I think they are also quite rare as pets.

My ex sister in law is from Malaysia and she remembers eating fruit bats. They’re cute little buggers.
