I never even thought about it before or after, but we were using our Ting phones in Canada too when we went on the Alaskan cruise. They must not have charged us enough additional to notice.

I just got a cheery e-mail this AM about the "exciting" news of the acquisition. They claim the transition will be seamless and I wont' have to buy a new phone (well, that WOULD be a deal-breaker). Excerpt:"What we’re assuring you today is that the Ting Mobile you know and love is not going away. We are here to help improve this special thing that you and the Ting Mobile team have built over more than eight years."
They also hinted that they may do something about the "pain point" of the price of data.
We'll see.
