Employees are prohibited from ... They are not employees. §7322. Definitions
For the purpose of this subchapter—
(1) “employee” means any individual, other than the President and the Vice President, employed or holding office in—
link interesting, I found similar in some articles. they would need everyone involved in the production to be not a WH employee, then. I have to say, the way he speaks makes me cringe. not just the offensive content he spews, but just in general. for example - there is still a Hatch Act, even if it apparently doesn't apply. it doesn't just go away. Hatch act may not strictly apply but there are still unofficial customs that presidents generally stick to. For example Obama was criticized for filming an endorsement video for Hillary in the Oval Office. Typically the president is not supposed to behave in a partisan manner on federal property. Since this is the president who brought his (uninvited) kids with him to dinner with the queen of England in hopes that his kids and her kids could launch some fabulous business deals, though, I don’t think historical traditions and decorum mean anything. He’ll wrap the rose garden in gold and line up some beauty queens and a military band behind him and do it from the rose garden.

I thought one could not campaign on federal property? Hatch Act. President (and VP) are exempt. They're exempt, but who bears the costs involved? Seems to me that they should be borne by the RNC and the Trump Campaign.

Just sayin' Wouldn't be trump's first fraud case. trump University comes to immediate mind and his settlement with those who were victims of his fraud.

Just sayin' Wouldn't be trump's first fraud case. trump University comes to immediate mind and his settlement with those who were victims of his fraud. $23 million. A certain Florida resident scoffed at the amount as being tiny for a man of Trump’s wealth. What he ironically missed, considering all of the frog marching BS, were the criminal acts of fraud Trump bought himself out from under.

And if the Dem nominee wants to make an acceptance speech from a temporary address, that's OK by me. In what state does trump send his absentee vote to? Hint: it's not Washington, D.C. Also Florida has no such thing as an absentee vote so he sends his mail in vote there 😉

I thought that under the regulations that where drawn up to allow DT to turn Mar-a-Lago into a "club"...it can NOT be used as a legal residence? So where does he live down there?

A good read, and yes, he has made a mess. Hope he can't get out of it in the long run! Pretty sure he changed from NY to Fl. due to taxes. Last time I checked, Fl. didn't have state income taxes...not sure about now...bet someone from down there knows though.

Even if FL has no taxes, any money tRump gets from NY businesses he has to pay NY taxes on as a non resident. As he has businesses there, I am not sure how he will wiggle out of paying those. We ran into this with my parents when my dad was in the military. While his military salary was not up for grabs by NY, my mom’s salary was, despite TX being their state of residence. When I wound up on disability, one of my sources of disability came from my KY employer. Despite having switched my residence from KY to WA, I had to pay non resident KY taxes on that portion of income.
