I am reminded that I have been at home the last three months, rather than enjoying our previous plans to tour the West. We had reservations at Yo-Semite, not to mention Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Parks and a few other planned stops. Ah, Yo-Semite, I'll see you again one day.

Yo-semite. I didn't know there was an American citizen who couldn't pronounce Yosemite. Now I know. Why am I not surprised?

He knows all the best words. He just can't recognize them when they are printed in front of him. Or pronounce them any time. I guess little details like that bounce around too much in his huge brain. Very difficult to keep track of them all.

While I don't really promote travel into our area with the 'rona, Eastern Oregon is still beautiful with very few people and tons of BLM/USFS lands to enjoy. It's not Yosemite, but I'd say the Alvord Desert and Steens Mt is almost better.

Weren't really planning to get into your area too much, depending on which way we went into Idaho, but Crater Lake on the way back up was on the list. GF has friends on the west side to visit.

It's because he doesn't read. He's not wrong phonetically. If he was just having a conversation about Yosemite, he'd pronounce it correctly. It's because he was reading it. He doesn't read often enough to realize that's what that word was.
We have a river called Willamette. We pronounce it Wih--lam-et But people who only read it, and don't hear it, for the first time try to sound it out as Will-a-met-ee

But, but, but... Do-Nald said “Well, you know, I love to read. Actually, I’m looking at a book, I’m reading a book, I’m trying to get started.”

I think he continues to decline, mentally. If you watch some of his recent interviews it’s clear that something is not right. I’m not a big fan of our other options, but like always, we’re damned if we do.

As I sat through a high school student's oral report, my body cringed every time he mentioned the Pot-a-mac River.

You might be right about it being reading, but then again I'm not so sure that this New York "real estate tycoon" is very familiar with western National Parks. And my favorite way of explaining the name of our river: It's Willamette, rhymes with damn it.

It is difficult for me to imagine the level of stress that holding the office of President of the United States places on a human being. At least Biden has the close vicarious experience which will help but it still concerns me with him. I think Donald Trump walked in blind and has been overwhelmed by the task. Unfortunately, his personality won't allow him admit it (even if only to himself) and walk away after one term.

Well, Trump did once say, "When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I’m basically the same. The temperament is not that different." I guess that goes for the intellect too. Who knew? Well to tell the truth, many of us DID figure it out, didn't we?

Is it really stressful though if you don’t take the huge responsibilities of the position seriously and don’t give 2 shits about doing a good job?

My parent's had this one in the house I grew up in. But then, reading was very important in our house. I seriously doubt "the Donald" ever read books. Not even one about him.

As I sat through a high school student's oral report, my body cringed every time he mentioned the Pot-a-mac River. When I lived in KY, I lived near a town named Versailles. However, it is not pronounced the the French chateau (Ver-si), but Ver-sails. That made me cringe each time I heard it too.

Listening to him speak and watching him speak at the same time is even worse. What a lying toddler! It's only trump's outright lies and intentional misinformation when he speaks which keeps me awake. If anyone else droned on and stumbled while reading scripted material like trump, I would lose interest fast and fall asleep.

He may be the worst reader in political history.

Oh man, just watched the video of his speech. Everything about his body language, tone of voice, everything screams "I think this is stupid - who cares."
Compare that "prepared" speech to his "very fine people" question and answer session.
hmmm, which topic do you think trump cares about more?
trump doesn't care about preserving anything for future Americans...
