Or he might be distracting from the possibility that his rally killed Herman Cain. This administration is such a shitshow that it is hard to tell which train wreck he is distracting from.

As Project Lincoln tweeted ... Today has been a long month.
And it’s not over yet...

Mail in voting....like some states do now...every registered voter is sent a ballot. It's up to them to fill it out & return it. Some states have it pre-paid postage while others don't. But as a registered voter, you don't have to do anything. Absentee ballots are by request only. That's the difference. YOU as a registered voter have to request the ballot. It isn't sent automatically. For some reason DT & some others think that someone is going to print all the different ballots for every state that mails them so they can be filled in by anyone & mailed. Do you all realize how many different ballots are printed for each state....think about it....local city elections, local county elections, state elections & national elections. If there are 10 cities in one county and each city is having an election for local offices...that would be at least 10 different ballots in that one county or at least 10 sections on each ballot...one for each city & none for non-city dwellers. The reasoning for this makes no sense at all....even to many of us who aren't "highly educated"! It is really nice that you think facts matter to Trump. Very kind

IMHO trump is just using this to contest the election result. Our only hope is that he loses in such a blowout no one will believe him except the faithful 38%

Only good thing is that the gop Congress people are coming out against the idea. He’ll even the Fox News politicial editor came out against it.
So far I can only find Pompeo being enthusiastic about it.

One black man is being celebrated today for his lifetime of service and another died because he attended Trump's rally without a mask.

I know it will be lost on his fan base that he's working to appeal to but anybody else see the irony in saying it's too dangerous to vote while at the same time threatening to pull funding from schools if they don't 100% open for the year?

I'm not so sure about that. Although the language used in the NYT op-ed is strong, its author might just be protecting his own party. Think of it this way. Do you honestly think that delaying the election could possibly improve Trump's chances of re-election? What is the probable effect of Trump doing worse on the rest of the GOP candidates on the rest of the ticket? What effect is Trump's smearing of absentee voting going to have on the turnout of elderly voters?
I see a party stalwart trying to prevent his party from getting shellacked in the next election.

Parents can always pump out another kid if one contracts the virus at school and passes away.

It must be exhausting to keep so many conflicting thoughts in your head at the same time and be able to convince yourself your position is totally logical.
If Corona is a hoax and schools should be 100% open then there is no danger in having an election. If it's too dangerous to have an election then why are we pushing schools and states to be open?
So much for Trump "telling it like it is" and being a "straight shooter". Oh wait now he's a politician so it's okay if he contradicts himself even though supposedly the whole point of him being elected is that he wouldn't be a typical politician. ::goes cross eyed::

Business Insider has an article about Kushner s coronavirus team shying away from creating a national strategy to fight the virus because he thought the virus was affecting the blue states the hardest and the governors would be blamed.
So they deliberately failed to act, allowing the virus to run rampant and kill way more people, because he thought it would have a positive political outcome?
Guess that backfired when southerners, Floridians and Arizona residents found themselves living in hot spots.
Did we need anymore proof trump doesn’t give two shits amour Americans?

Yes, they thought it would burn out and go away with the warm weather. Didn't believe the science, and because Trump knows better than everyone else, refused to take it seriously

Must know Election results on the night of the Election, not days, months, or even years later!
link Interesting idea. Reality is that we never actually "know" the results that night. The media uses exit polling and early partial results to project winners. It is always true that in close races that it takes longer for them to project a winner. And if it is extremely close, they don't project one.

This is the tweet as it shows up on fb "With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote " what happened to in person voter fraud and "sanctity of the vote"?

What is the reason that absentee voting is good and mail in voting is fraudulent? Just because we found out he absentee votes? absentee voting IS mail-in voting.
the only difference between those two terms is that absentee voting requires permission.

Might state legislators elect the Electoral College? From the Washington Post article linked in my prior post: I don't think he has enough governors/state legislatures to make this work.

but don't press him on it. he will close schools to further his power grab.

Here's the Nazi Kushner's article about the blue states. Apparently, they had an entire plan and ordered supplies, but canceled it to make Trump look better. Shocking, not. I didn't realize Jews could become Nazis, but apparently they can! "Most troubling of all, perhaps, was a sentiment the expert said a member of Kushner’s team expressed: that because the virus had hit blue states hardest, a national plan was unnecessary and would not make sense politically. “The political folks believed that because it was going to be relegated to Democratic states, that they could blame those governors, and that would be an effective political strategy,” said the expert." www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/07/how-jared-kushners-secret-testing-plan-went-poof-into-thin-air

So I was curious as I've done mail in voting before and signed up for it back in March because I was betting against desantis. Florida doesn't even technically HAVE absentee voting so unless trump drags his ass to Florida to vote in person HE'S VOTING ON A MAIL IN BALLOT. Fucking imbecile. Besides the web address the entire page is void of the word absentee. www.myfloridaelections.com/Voting-Elections/Ways-to-Vote/Vote-by-Mail-Absentee-Ballots

If I remember correctly dt had a committee/task force looking into that to prove that HRC only won the popular vote because of voter fraud. While very little voter fraud was discovered, most of the cases involved the MAGA crowd trying to tolt the scales by voting twice. The whole thing was very quietly ended.

At the link is a picture of a person from Seattle holding the mail in envelope with her ballot. I have voted by mail in Washington State since it became the only way to vote ten years ago. The county in which i live and vote uses a totally different shape and color of envelope. Yeah, millions of fake mail in ballots will be printed overseas.
