I'm going to try to eat out of the freezer for awhile. I have stockpiled a lot of stuff, and I don't want it to go to waste. There is nothing I want out. I live 15-20 minutes from most good restaurants. It isn't far when you are going there, but it is when you are getting take out. Good food just doesn't travel that well.

I get lunch from Subway while working in town, but that's about it. We like the oriental place, but have to wait for them to cook it. And also not the same as when we eat in. I'm sure the restaurants in town have lost a lot of business.

Same with me SS. This running to the grocery store because I'm bored, then spending $50-60 is foolishness on my part. It's been 2 weeks since I've been to Walmart and I can easily go another.
Im not doing any take out with the exception of McDonalds a few weeks ago, and that really wasn't worth it. $9.50 for a burger, fries and soft drink is just plain silly. My checking account keeps getting more and more in it, may as well keep it going.

We're going to have a kitchen again soon, so I can finally start eating out of our freezer. The chest freezer is full, mostly with chicken. We caught a couple of really good sales and mark downs. I can't wait to have the stove in place and a sink that works! Our grocery spending has been high, but we've had to eat frozen meals and eat out for the past ten weeks. So happy that is soon coming to a halt!

Right now, our kitchen is in upheaval. The carpenter delivered the cabinet doors and drawers, took old ones off, got about half the new ones put on and isn’t finishing until next week. Of the doors he did get on, they have no pulls on them yet....so getting something in or out is challenging. We need another rainy day ASAP!

I did a stock up grocery trip at our local Price-Rite. Sunday at 9 am is the time to go! Spent $150 on canned tomatoes, beans, tuna, olive oil, sugar, pasta, spaghetti sauce, soups, brownie mixes, spices...mostly all pantry items that needed to be replenished. Still having trouble finding paper towels, but our TP stock is the most we have ever had in this house. Kind of ridiculous since we are empty-nesters, but a couple of times I shared with our adult kiddos.

Went to Sam's yesterday and they were still out of everything. Not a single roll of TP to be found it appeared they haven't even stocked it since I was last there. Couldn't find kitchen sponges to save my life either. I got incredibly lucky and someone had apparently dropped the last package of printer ink in the size I needed to get for my mom, otherwise the computer area was also picked clean. According to other people I've talked to Costco has everything. I know all the grocery stores have been restocked for the past few months. What the heck is going on with Sam's Club?

My husband couldn't find tp at Sam's yesterday, either, but has been able to get it at Meijer, so we're fine.
Our kitchen remodel started the beginning of April. It's been going in little spurts, but we've never been without the sink for even a day, and the stove was only out of commission for a couple days, maybe. Our contractor redid it in halves, to make things much more livable for us. Still need: countertops, majority of pulls installed, backsplash installed. Trim around the kitchen window that we replaced installed, and the crown on top of our upper cabinets installed.

I am buying pretty much the same food I bought before March. For the last few weeks, I have been getting everything I order for pick up.
The price has gone up noticeably.

I have decided that I have a serious case of CTSD (covid traumatic stress disorder in case you are wondering). My bi-weekly grocery run was yesterday and the aisle with papergoogs was about 1/3 thinly stocked. Still gad the signs up limiting everyone to one pack per family but there was some to be had. However, as I have unopened packages in both bathroom plus another one in my, now storage area, guest room I did not buy any. All last night and when I woke up this morning I was stressed that I had not snatched up some...just in case. If this keeps up I am in danger of becoming a full-fledged hoarder! This is not normal

On the brighter side, can you imagine how cheap turkey is going to be this Thanksgiving, especially the larger birds? Last late June, early July, I tried to buy a turkey for a “Thanksgiving in July” at a family reunion. I was absolutely flabbergasted at how many stores I had to go to to even find one and then how expensive they were!!!

We lost a total of four weeks of time where no work was being done. DH is getting cranky, but agrees with me that the new kitchen is beautiful and worth it. I'll be glad when we're finally all done.

This is not normal I get it! I'm buying up stuff like tp just because it's there and I'm afraid it won't be at some future point.

Don't feel too badly. I was never able to find a Clorox or Lysol sanitary wipe container after the hoarding started last March and April. My neighbor said she just bought some, so off to Amazon. I ordered 3 containers of Clorox for $71. That will go in my cabinet with the 12 or 13 bottles of sanitary hand wipe stuff.
Food I'm not too fussy about, I can always find something to eat, especially if its peanut butter.

I have a subscribe and save subscription for the Solimo brand wipes and they have been fulfilling those, though sometimes a couple weeks late. They are only $9 for a 3 pack.

I recently started using our grocery store's pick-up service (we are too far out for Instacart and the like), and have seen a HUGE drop in our grocery bill. I usually shop with a list, but definitely impulse buy way too much because I am afraid it will not be there the next time. Started ordering more household items through Amazon and Walmart, and now feel comfortable with our stock levels, so no more wandering the store for me.

Since I live about 10 miles from the Walmart and Sams Club Home offices, other than Target, we don't have too many places to shop. It's either Amazon at times or Sams or WMT.
Yesterday I took a quick look at the shelves in the garage storage and found a few things that have expired, so it's time for me to take another look at what is left. TP is plenty also with paper towels(use those seldom) Glad Wrap products are plentiful. I have plenty of sanitize hand wipes and will also have some Clorox wipes once they get here.
The pantry in the kitchen needs a clean out too....maybe sometime this week.

I've only seen the Costco store brand in stock for TP and paper towels. I prefer Scott TP and was able to find a slightly smaller 20 pack at target, but this was maybe 3 weeks ago.

I still haven't had to buy toilet paper or paper towels since all this started. Apparently I was a paper goods hoarder already. I must be getting down there though. Better do a check this evening. The boys both take rolls from the hall closet and I keep mine in my bathroom closet so I really only know how my bathroom situation is. We only go through one or two rolls of paper towels a month, so a mega pack from Sam's lasts a long time, but still...probably getting down there by now.

I just got back from the grocery store. Despite it being in the middle of renovation, there were really no holes in groceries. There was a wall of canned soups.
I didn’t go down the paper aisle, as we have no need of this. We did hit Costco last week, and noted that TP and paper towels were in good supply.

I do feel I am saving a lot on impulse purchases. Formerly I would cruise the aisles looking for inspiration. Now it's once a week at Aldi with a list, plus occasional Walmart.com and Amazon buys. Sadly, after multiple leaking and unusable packages from Walmart, I'm turning to Amazon more and more. The only problem is that I have to buy in mega-quantities and I'm running out of storage spaces. Saturday I spent 20 minutes looking for the new bottle of vitamins which turned out to be in my office closet with my shoes.

Almost no TP at Walmart either. Dawn dish soap was almost non existent and still no cleaning products.
Wonder if people are panic buying in anticipation of school starting.
Alchohol was still plentiful so I guess the 3 days a week of virtual school has not sunk in yet.

It's weird because we haven't had issues for months now. It makes me wonder what is going on. We have plenty of TP and dish soap at home thanks to my new hoarding habit but I still take notice every time I go shopping. It'll be years before I stop panicking in regards to toilet paper even though I know plenty of people have and can survive just fine without it.

I've noticed a shortage of dishwashing detergents like Dawn, too. I bought a huge container last summer when DH was so sick (was it only last summer?) so I have plenty left and simply refill the bottle as needed. But Publix doesn't.

Sam's Club has plenty of Dawn, in my local stores and online. Target does, too, but not in every size.
Stores around here are mostly restocked. The only thing I still haven't seen at all is Sam's brand of TP.

Um...yeah...either my kids use no toilet paper or I had a crap ton before all this. Currently my bathroom is down to 5 double rolls. Hall closet for the kids baths? 63 rolls.

I went grocery shopping to the city, had to go to 3 stores to get what I wanted, and just realized I did not get pie crusts. Sam's said they only stock AllReady pie crusts as a seasonal item.
I spent $275, we were out of several items and DD did not have things she could fix for lunch when I'm not home. I bought her some healthy snackpacks. They contain 180 calories of chocolate, cheese, and things like apple sticks. Also some luncheon meat packages, not healthy, but the girl has to have something and hard on her to wait from breakfast on for me to get home with a sandwich. She will find junk to eat.
There are lots of empty slots in all the stores. Kroger still has not store brand cake mixes, a little thing but odd, and a very small selection. They have closed their seafood and select meat case and started packaging it, I don't like it. they are putting doors on all their cases where there are lots of prepacked veggies and where the luncheon meats and cheeses are, not quite sure why. Maybe to keep the virus off items??
Lots of people at Sam's grabbing TP again. I'm not sure what all the empty slots back in there were. But I think basics are in the stores just way less variety.
We had a storm go through after I filled everything to the max freezers and fridges and electric was out from 8 till 1AM. We were going to get the generator out if it was still out this morning.
Our Simple Safe system started going off, Warning, you have devices off, about every 10 minutes. We couldn't get it to stop, told hubs put it in my car in the garage so we can't hear it and he did.

Now $244 plus $275, So $519 to date. Add $8 for lunch from McD's so $527. I also had to renew Sam's Club membership for $45 on top of that.
And I did not get my pie crusts, forgot at Krogers, the local store is really expensive, ouch. Now I have broccoli for quiche and no pie crusts, sigh.
