Have you considered a self-propelled sprinkler? My dad bought one and he's really happy with it. You lay out the hose in your lawn, and then the sprinkler slowly moves following the path of the hose. It's some work to lay out and then pick up the hose, but way less annoying than moving a sprinkler every 20 minutes. www.amazon.com/Orbit-58322-Traveling-Sprinkler/dp/B000NJPUHG/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=moving+sprinkler&qid=1595991963&sr=8-2Also, next time your water, try putting something like a tuna fish can in the yard to see how much water it collects in 20 minutes with the sprinkler. You want to water deeply and at least the equivalent of an inch of rain per week (check the recommendations for your area). I did this once with my sprinkler and was surprised how little water was collected when running the sprinkler for 15 minutes. A little off topic. A homeowner with a triangle area that is used for utility boxes put white rock and several watering tractors for decoration. Very unique. The tuna can can double for yard golf. That is what my bro. did when we were kids. Our water department decided a y.a. that your water usage in August would be what the homeowner was charged all summer. It rained most of the summer. We don't water that much but our bill was higher than expected last time.

Water is inexpensive here. I was afraid my bill would climb when I started watering, but it really didn't.
We get a massive baseline amount of water and DS and I only use water for showering, hand washing dishes, and a few loads of laundry a month. I think they said we get 500 cubic feet of water for baseline and every additional cubic foot is $0.04.
I'm watering today and my lawn's looking a lot greener and healthier than it was. I think the aerator burned it a bit and I was watering it too much.
The seed I put down is also growing. It's sort of funny looking right now, because I seeded around the concrete walkways and planters and I have these bright green rows of fresh grass.
