Hey pulmonarymd, I have concluded that @x is actually a decent human being who supports many of the policy positions of Trump and is working very hard to justify to himself voting for the man come November. I think in the end he won't be able to do it, no matter what he may claim before or after. But, again, I do tend to believe the best of people.

Think it will feed an other insulting deflection from pmd ?

Forgive me if I doubt it. He is condescending and will cherry pick what he wants to talk about. He also appears to be fatalistic, and does not believe we can change outcomes, based on his comments to me on previous threads. He also likes to show us he is so much smarter than the rest of us, because of his eidetic memory. I have been impressed with the intelligence and accomplishments of many of the posters, and the high level discussion of many, which I have learned from. He has the ability to add to that, but it appears he does not want to. I meet many people on a daily basis, and I have seen his type.It is unfortunate that intelligent discussion has fallen so low in the US, but he could do his part to encourage it. I just do not think he wants to.

(snipped for brevity) Thanks for the prompt billisonboard . Effective indeed. I'm the insulting one and should apologize.

The simple maneuvering can be enlightening, in regards to pointing out what others can't discern, because of their own ego's.
However, it can be quite boring for those interested in the thread topic.
I've digressed to much at this point.

Ahem. That is obviously a typo. You are well aware of that. When you pull tricks like this, it looks pretty bad on you, @x . You're capable of far better. Mind your potential. Yes I know It's a typo, but... Even in the simplest of mistakes, lies a mistake. We all make them and have no special high ground to stand on. Whether we have PHD's in Physics, recently completed in Psychology, or even board certified pulmonologists, or voted in as US presidents. My big no no is my lack of correct grammar. I just don't take the time to pay attention. Feel free to call me on it, I can laugh at myself and often do just that. I'll not be doing that. It's petty. I'm not.

It can't really be called a briefing on the virus because the latest info says that nobody from the task force will be there, nor will Drs. Fauci and Birx. The briefings don't require the task force. The white house spokes person will answer the questions presented with the current information that will be at hand, including the latest Covid releases.

He spent most of the time campaigning, blaming others for his lack of action and calling people names, as usual. He looks up from the script like he just read it for the first time and uses little words to explain it again. His only plan is to get reelected.

I didn't hear it, but this is what I would expect he would do. Normal presidents would have given a briefing. Trump just sees it as free TV campaign time.

The task force adds credence to the briefings, particularly since tRump lies like a rug. I do not believe a word that comes out of the WH spokesperson's mouth, they lie too. This is the conditioning that comes after 3.5 years of being lied to. You know....the boy that cried wolf? I guess tRump and his asslickers associates did not learn that parable in elementary school

Interesting that Trump suddenly reversed course on masks, decided not only that the virus is an issue but a serious issue that will get worse before it gets better (rather than insisting it will magically disappear tomorrow), cancelling his big presidential convention (remember when he got pissy with North Carolina because they wouldn't let him have his jam packed convention hall there?) and now is even saying maybe all schools shouldn't open this fall, depending on how bad the virus in their area is.
Mr Flip Flop. I'm assuming someone in his staff finally showed him the poll numbers showing that people are more concerned about Covid than they are about the economy.
Too bad Trump has tried so hard to ignore or belittle the pandemic, and tried to make wearing a mask a political statement. Going to be hard for him to do his 180 flip into pretending he now (and has always) given a shit about it just 100 days away from the election.

I have wondered if this has anything to do with it.

Nah, Ivanka told daddy dearest that she's planning to launch a line of $1000 masks to her fashion brand this week.

The task force adds credence to the briefings... (snipped for brevity) Adds credence yes, but the briefings don't require the task force.

Even if it's more useful with additional presentation. I wonder if I'm going to need a briefing on how many are going to show up for this, to just slam Trump in juvenile way.

Question. Is trump still doing the briefings? I haven't seen anything the last several days.
