No. Hold a joint ceremony. Invite them both. Invite George W. Bush too. And if trump loses to Biden in November, all four past and current presidents can be present at the hanging and rehanging of the portraits in their proper place. Once done, Biden, Obama and Bush can invite trump into the unused room where Obama and Bush's portraits were stored and beat the shit out of him. I also think Michelle Obama and Laura Bush's portraits were removed and relocated too. No, you do Obama right away. You invite trump on January 19 of your last term

I suspect it's his way of thumbing his nose at how the Mississippi removed the condfederate flag, how the Marines officialled banned the confederate flag, how the protesters are pulling down statues... If they can "erase" history - than Trump can too. I suspect the gesture is not lost on those crying about the removals and statues being removed. FWIW: it would be more clever and sly to LEAVE the portraits there - and then just make fun of them (like school kids do of portraits in schools (of the important people/founders/board members whatever). - I had portraits of people in and religious leaders in my Private GS... and they all had tacky childish nicknames the kids used). I suspect future presidents will leave Trump's smirking face on the wall and refer to him affectionately as the Cheeto, Drump, and whatever other names arise. I'm really surprised Trump didn't put up Obama's portrait... so that Trump could refer to him by whatever derogatory nickname he uses for Obama any time someone was in eyeshot of the portrait and earshot of Trump. THAT would have been a better option... (actually, maybe Trump wanted to do that and got vetoed by people who are wiser.) It's been done before by Sarah Palin, Ted Nugent and Kid Rock while they visted trump in the Oval Office in 2017.

I agree the next president should pull Bush and Clinton back out and put them in a prominent position (which is WH protocol - display the most recent presidents prominently) along side the a trump and Obama portraits. Once the clown car departs, we need to reset everything to the WH traditions and collectively try to erase the last four years of dumpster fires in the Oval Office fro our minds. I don't support any statues nor namings, but I do think it will be important to remember these four years. I’m not advocating we forget the trump term. I think we go back to the dignity and history the used to surround the Oval Office and that includes the honor of unveiling the portrait of the previous president of n a prominent White House position.

I think it’s ironic that trump replaced bush and Clinton with a portrait of teddy roosevelt, who trump apparently admires.
Teddy was very anti corruption and was a big outdoors man- teddy would hate trump.

I think Trump's portrait should be a dartboard, hung next to a velvet painting of dogs playing poker.

And I know it's something that goes both ways. At least it's "respectable" versus "childish". (What is up with Nugent and Palin? That's some creepy vibes from their body language.... Kid Rock just looks like he's being his "persona"... but Palin/Nugent looks tense/creepy)

He is nothing more than a toddler who wears a suit. Why people adore him, well, I just don't get it. He's rich. Some people admire wealth and power. I think most of his worshippers adore him because they want to be him. Having had three wives is a bonus for the men. nope...not most men...

And there is this bit of news from the crybaby in chief: “I have to see. Look ... I have to see,” Trump told moderator Chris Wallace during a wide-ranging interview on ”Fox News Sunday." “No, I’m not going to just say yes. I’m not going to say no, and I didn’t last time either.” The Biden campaign responded: "The American people will decide this election. And the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House...I’m not losing, because those are fake polls,” Trump said in the taped interview, which aired Sunday. “They were fake in 2016 and now they’re even more fake. The polls were much worse in 2016.” He's past the point of petty. Way past the point of petulant. He's deranged, dangerous and in total disregard of the democratic process. I do not know what it will take for those in Congress who still support him to grow the necessary spine to stick the done fork in his dingleberries.
As for escorting trespassers out of the WH -- I cannot wait for the day when the Secret Service "helps" him out of there, feet first, and tosses him out the front door into a dumpster on the back of a trailer, hauled out like the ugly-American trash that he is. Of course, he then becomes Florida Man, but he'll be surrounded by people just like himself: rich, wrinkled sycophants (the Trampettes, etc.) who will be happy to welcome him back.
