What's going on in Seattle? I can't keep track of everything. Quote; Seattle police have retaken the East Precinct stationhouse after clearing out the protest area known as the Capitol Hill Organized Protest, or CHOP, making more than a dozen arrests after Mayor Jenny Durkan declared the gathering an unlawful assembly following two fatal shootings.
Police issued the order to disperse around 5 a.m. local time Wednesday, telling protesters to leave within eight minutes. At least 31 protesters were arrested for failure to disperse, obstruction, resisting arrest and assault, police said.

I like this article a lot 5 Myths About the Protests in Portland Some highlight of the article.
Myth 1: Portland is burning. Protests are destroying the city.
A block or two in every direction from the courthouse, life goes on—Starbucks is open. There was a huge farmers market on the Park Blocks. Myth 2: Protesters are a mob.
We were greeted with music and dancing. Free ribs are served to those who show up. Everyone, with very few exceptions, wears masks. Volunteers walked through the park handing out water bottles; a group passed with a push cart full of helmets and safety goggles for those who might have come unprepared.
Myth 3: White protesters are the story!
Late last week, Wall of Moms announced that in recognition of the problem of white women leading a group whose goal is Black liberation, the white administrators had relinquished their roles and Black and Indigenous women are now the administrators of the Wall of Moms.
Myth 4: The newly arrived feds are the problem.
Portland Police Department (PPD) had used excessive force against protesters long before the federal police arrived.
Myth 5: Protests will be over soon.
Yet, everyday more groups join. This week, the Wall of Moms and PDX Dad Pod were joined by the Wall of Vets—a group of veterans deeply disenfranchised by the local and federal police’s violations of human rights occurring against the protesters assembling. Yesterday, a group of elderly women known as the Portland Raging Grannies made an appearance.

And I really hope this is true and works out. Gov. Kate Brown Says Feds Have Agreed to “Phased Withdrawal” From Portland Starting Thursday Interesting that she is going to have the Oregon State Police guard the courthouse, instead of the feds or the Portland Police Department. And this statement
Travis Hampton, superintendent of OSP, said his troopers would seek a different tone while guarding the courthouse.
"It is obvious the current strategy is not sustainable and has the high probability of serious injury or death, as officers and community members clash," Hampton wrote. "OSP hopes to deescalate the tensions around the Mark O. Hatfield Courthouse, facilitating peaceful free speech and proportional response if criminal activity is observed."

Well guess what, the federal troops were the problem, not the "anarchists" Trump ordered federal forces to quell Portland protests. But the chaos ended as soon as they left.
On Thursday, the first protest held since the federal agencies agreed to pull back their officers was a markedly more peaceful affair.
Instead of being forcibly removed from downtown’s Lownsdale Square and the adjacent Chapman Square, which lie opposite the barricaded Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse, the crowd thinned out on its own, with many protesters heading home of their own accord.
The protests on Thursday attracted a similar size crowd as other recent nights. While there were some attempts at provocation, including fireworks and thrown rocks, the state police officers remained confined to the building and could only occasionally be seen looking out onto the protests. And this is sort of funny But the different atmosphere seemed to take some protesters by surprise. Many had arrived wearing helmets and gas masks, but found themselves sitting on the grass of the park when they would have been running away on previous nights.
and I like this a small fire was started inside the cordoned off area outside the courthouse, though protesters quickly put it out before it could spread.
Now I just wonder if this makes it to the national news tonight.

And you were right. Not a peep on the mainstream national news that the Feds left and all is quiet. No exciting visuals.

ABC Evening News had a news piece this evening about an Aurora Colorado black family whose SUV was stopped by police following a report of a stolen vehicle.
Four children in the SUV, the youngest being six years old, were forced by the police to lie face down on the pavement with their hands behind their backs. Several of the older children, still teens, were handcuffed. The mother was taken aside and questioned.
It turns out the police stopped the wrong vehicle. Although the van had the same license plate number as the stolen vehicle, it did not match the stolen vehicle: a motorcycle from another state with a different state's license plate.
I imagine the six year old will need some counseling as with the older teens.
