Kemp in Georgia.
Not only did he not make a mandate that masks have to be worn in public, which even many pro trump governors in other states have done, he made a mandate that no Georgia cities or counties were allowed to mandate mask use.
Savannah and Atlanta mayors essentially told him to go fuck himself, and kemp is now suing Atlanta mayor Bottoms to - get this - make her reverse her mandate that people in Atlanta must wear masks in public.
Don’t know what he’ll do about all the Walmart stores where masks will be required.
We’re stuck with this ass clown until 2023, but I’m going to do my best to make sure he gets crushed. I’m going to save up all my masks and toss them onstage whenever kemp does a stump speech.

Holcomb of Indiana isn't so great either. He has just pushed forward completely opening the state 2 weeks. Our cases are soaring. Were down to 300 before the 4th, last few days 600 cases plus and over 700, yesterday 735. And we are a small population state compared to others.
Individual stores requiring masks may be our only saving grace.

Georgia has surged, around Savannah especially where tourists are a double edged sword. Downtown Savannah is a very walkable, lovely historic area (town fathers paid off Sherman to keep him from burning it down) and the allow open containers of alcohol on the street to it’s a very popular tourist destination. Mayor was requiring face masks but I guess we’ll allow the alcohol from all those drinks to kill the virus.

Yep, we've sunk pretty low as a country if this is our biggest issue. I agree, he ranks right up there as the worst.

Arkansas: It took the CDC to finally get the Governor to mandate indoor and outdoor mask use.
Report: CDC faults Arkansas officials for 'inconsistent messages' on coronavirus
A new report filed by the CDC charges that the coronavirus response has inconsistent messaging which has spread "misinformation, myths and uncertainty."

An individual might be able to sue - maybe under the ADA. I don't know if online shopping and curb side pick-up is considered "reasonable accomodation". I would think it is, but I wouldn't be supportive of a store that banned wheelchairs because of online shopping, but, wheelchairs don't harm others, where a mask-free person might. Hmmmm. Can Walmart ask for proof of a medical need for not wearing masks?

Can Walmart ask for proof of a medical need for not wearing masks? I recently read Washington State guidelines on enforcing state mandate. The business is to inform it is required. If the response is, "Not wearing one", the business is to ask if there is a medical reason. If the person says, "Yes" then the business is to not question but offer ideas for accommodations. If the person demands to be allowed in, the business is to allow it.

The cop CAN ask for the card you receive with the placard which identifies you as the disabled person though.

There is quite a bit of competition for that title. He is making an excellent effort though. Still has to catch DeSantis , but I have hope I doubt anyone can catch Ring Around The RNC Ronnie D. of Florida, AKA the Trump Boy Toy. If he stayed any closer to Donald's heinie, he'd need a hell-sized roll of TP to clean up that Mount Everest of poop.
And I hope Kemp does get to go to court, and get his political clock cleaned good. Good for the mayors who tell him "See ya in court." Another bigwig bully who will get his comeuppance. I think the lot of them should be sent to Mar A Lago to live with the DC buddy when they get dumped by voters. Let's see who's still friends at that point.

happyhoix I was going to dispute that, but I'm in Georgia, too. He's a dunderhead and a brown-noser. Karma needs to send him and the horse he rode in on (and trump) a case of CoVid that makes them sick enough to teach them humility and to drum some sense into them. Wait. Humility and sense. Nope. Not gonna happen.

Well, the laws vary in every state on most of these issues. We don't receive any kind of card with a handicapped placard or license plate down here in Ga. But DH is a DV so we seldom get questioned on that one....plus I'm just plain disabled according to our state laws...I don't have a card either. Not sure about what a business can ask or not here or what they can do if someone says they are exempt....

You survive, you're free to move on with your life. If not, oh, well, shucks gee whiz. You've been recycled into the natural feeding system of the Sunshine State.

BTW Happy, I totally agree that Kemp is the worst. I sent an email to his office yesterday or the day before asking if he could get any more stupid...so then he pops up with this lawsuit....yep, he got more stupid. The state is in debt & is going deeper due to so many being out of work...but he is going to blow $$ on this stupid lawsuit trying to prove he has a bigger one than Bottoms. I also asked since he had already killed more than 3000 taxpayers...how many more is he going to kill?

How many years before this happens? Good chance both will be out of office by then, excellent chance a vaccine will be out by then, this will be ancient history and no one will care.
Makes a good campaign platform now though.

Your personal health history is limited to very few people. They cannot ask.....any more than your employer can ask. You can volunteer the information, but they cannot ask. I have received cards stating that I am the holder of the placard in TX, KY and WA.....but not once have I been asked for them. All this does it tie my name to the placard, it does not give any medical history whatsoever. The purpose is to keep grandson from abusing grandma’s placard.

Whoops! My bad....I have had to deal with HIPAA so long, I forgot that this was not the only entity. Only I was on the other side of it! No problem. All the acronyms are confusing, especially if you do not deal with it. Since I could get into significant trouble if I don’t follow the laws, I pay more attention to them When I was working, we only received samples coded. This worked well until one of our study subjects lied about his HIV status. He was positive, was 3/4 of the way through a longitudinal study (where he was getting paid) and the only reason we found out was the hygienist who collected his sample for our study was cleaning his teeth in the clinic and accessed his clinical records, she recognized him as being a study subject. Our study was one looking at antibody responses and inflammation, and having HIV was an exclusion criteria. I was also handling his blood and saliva. Hygienist gave us a head’s up about the sample (which was a moot point because of how we handled them anyway), but we all got called on the carpet. I am not sure why we (in the lab) got in trouble, as we still had no identifiers on him. Thinking about it, the organizers of the study were in the same position the lab was in when they found out too....yet they were the ones who raked the lab over the coals. After that study, I often wondered how much lying went on in the health form we had subjects fill out for studies and how screwed up we got.

Since I managed drug stores in the past and tested everyone employed in them on all the HIPAA laws, I'm well aware of what they cover or don't cover.
Our handicapped placards have the individual's name on the card so it's easy to see if someone else is using it....but I've never seen any LE ever bother to check that. With all of our vehicles registered in DH's name, they all have DV license plates since those are discounted in the state of Ga.!
It's just my opinion, but anyone having a medical reason to not wear a mask should have a card or form of some kind from their medical provider stating that. Also IMHO....anyone not wearing a mask for a medical reason should be staying home unless they have an emergency!

"I can tell you having dealt with this every day since February and looked at the data in the U.S., Florida, across the world, and as a father of three young kids, I do not fear this virus' effect on my kids," DeSantis said. "I think the risk is incredibly low. I fear way more things in terms of their health and safety, but I would not have any problem having them in school if they were -- they're not school age -- but if they were I would absolutely do that and I think it would be safe for them." Your little rug rats are in the mansion in Tallahassee with your plastic Barbie doll wife. They are not in school or exposed to anything you don't want them exposed to, you little stump of Trump. You can just spout off any notion of crap that pops into your head, knowing you cannot be called out on this because 1) your kids are not old enough to go to school and 2) being your kids, there's no effing way the risk to their security would even allow them to go to public school. If the Grim Reaper screwed Dopey the Dwarf, you would be their offspring.

Everyone screaming at commission meetings and protests about their air, their rights, their freedom to be Americans and their needs. OK, fine. It's also their right to be dead. It's not my right or my wish. So if those unmasked marching morons decide to continue that little pandemic pout of theirs straight to COVID-19 hell, I think they should go on their own. No medical treatment and no staying with anyone who does actually give a damn about their own health. You don't get the option to make anyone else sick, just because it's OK for you to take that risk. No one else wants to bury their loved ones because of your selfishness. Seriously, I've almost given up on many of my fellow humans at this point. Not all of them. We've got a lot of them still out there fighting the good fight right.

I just saw Florida's governor referred to as Ron DeathSantis. It's perfect; he is once again trying to convince us that it is all just going to be OK if we stay the course. I think his logic is that if enough people are dead here, it will finally get reeeeeeeallyy quiet and people won't pick on him anymore. Or the roads will be less crowded. Or there will be more parking spaces at Disney. Something like that.
