It was nothing more then a photo op set up for him in an environment where he could say he had to wear a mask.

Why, because everyone is now going to vote for trump instead of Biden because he wore a mask? All his followers are suddenly going to fall in line so the pandemic will come under control? All the gutless Republican governors are going to require masks so we can control the pandemic? Critical thinking has apparently become an endangered species as well in the US. God help us

Unless he makes a habit of it, it is nothing more than a stunt. If he makes a habit of it, it is still too little, too late, because there will be too many deaths due to his intransigence. This is more like, “what took you so long?”

It was at Walter Reed. If he didn’t wear a mask, I doubt if they’d let him in.

I'm glad if Walter Reed made him tow the line. I was VERY disappointed in a lot of places that didn't enforce the mask rule for him & Pence, like the Mayo Clinic. Would you want YOUR family member getting treatment there after an unmasked visit?

It will be interesting to see how it plays out long term. But it is still a good thing if it leads to more people wearing masks.

Only took 137,000 dead Americans.
Were any of the wounded he visited part of the Putin bounty payout?

Unless trump does it consistently, it will not sway too many of those who refuse, IMHO. It has become too political and partisan for a one off to do much. If he is capable of changing his behavior and will do the right thing, I will begrudgingly give him credit. But we have been waiting 3.5 years for that to happen. I am not holding my breath

This is more like, “what took you so long?” true but if just a one time stunt it makes him look even worse. If not, it could save lives. I do hope that it doesn't gain him anything when it comes to reelection.

I just spent the last hour arguing with idiots i went to high school with who are convinced that masks are worthless if not dangerous. He did a good job convincing his horde and I'm guessing not all of them will about turn all that fast.

To me, it will be the tens of thousands deaths that could have been prevented had he had one ounce of human dignity, and cared about anyone but himself

Oh and the girl arguing against masks with me... is a nurse. The things she is spouting... Maybe we all deserve this. How did we allow public education to devolve to this level.

I don't think so... This is the sign on the local store she was telling me is 'true' ... and that masks don't do anything and any number of things like we can't get a vaccine and we need herd immunity and people only die of other causes and the numbers don't add up for coronavirus...

trump is on thin ice right now with military leaders and the troops they command. Therefore trump wore a mask visiting the hospital.

I wouldn't blame it on education. I'd blame it on the fact that far too many people are invested in what they want to believe because they want to believe it. Just like not all doctors are good, neither are all nurses. There's that joke of what do you call the doctor who graduates last in his class? Doctor. What do you call the person who goes into nursing for the money? A nurse. Nurses are people. Its inevitable some are going to be stupid and biased.

The great thing about medicine is there is a place for medicine. I could possibly give her a pass if she was a psych nurse, as it may have been a long time since she did anything with respiratory or critically ill patients. Was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. But you are all crazy, lol

I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see that "wearing a mask could make you lightheaded". If these wimps had seen how our mothers used to wrap scarves around our faces so we wouldn't get frostbite going to school, that "theory" would be out the window immediately.

I guess surgeons shouldn’t wear a mask, since being lightheaded would be bad during surgery, right. Bunch of snowflakes

Maybe, pulmonarymd, next time a patient whines about having to wear a mask to an office visit, ask them if you can skip your mask when you do surgery on them. I'd love to be a mouse in the corner to see their expression.

Actually I found it interesting that someone believes there is only a carbon dioxide buildup indoors with masks, will apparently everything else not having an issue? Some people be stupid. Masks can make you sweat and be hot. Perhaps some soul decided this meant there was a carbon dioxide buildup. When inhaling, humans take in approximately 21 percent oxygen, 0.04 percent carbon dioxide and 79 percent nitrogen. On exhalation, humans give off approximately 16 percent oxygen, 4 percent carbon dioxide and 79 percent nitrogen, according to the BBC; only the amount of nitrogen remains constant in the exchange. Exhaled air also contains water vapor
