ooh ooh, I'm looking forward to those questions since I've been celibate my entire life. Starting to think of some creative answers just to make the doc embarrassed Why weren’t you at my Catholic HS? I might have stuck around longer! yeah, I guess I'm probably not your typical priest. lol Just had a great conversation today with a former seminary classmate, he left the priesthood after 3 years (we have similar political views) and it was great just to be able to talk openly with him. Another classmate who did not get ordained lives in your area so I have been there a least a dozen times the last 30 years. Great place that you live

I saw that, trump took that test two years ago and was recently bragging to a room of staffers about how well he did. He claimed all the doctors were astonished that he passed it. I don’t think he realized what that meant. They expected he would fail. Idiot. Right, it's so hard to identify a camel, a rhino and to draw a clock. Clearly, he's a stable genius.

Since neither you nor your doc can rat the other out, let 'er rip. Wish I could be a mouse in the woodwork. Whatsisname, the Father of My Children, left the seminary before taking vows. Said he didn't want to spend his life in a cold shower reading his breviary. I missed this when your originally posted it. Midnight now and I'm laughing so hard I probably won't be able to sleep for a few hours. For the rest of you, look up the definition of "breviary" Thanks for the good laugh

Once in, she knew she were would have no problem with poverty or chastity. But she found out real early she would have a problem with obedience. She didn't last thirty days in the convent. I have a problem with that, too. I always figured if I was around in the Puritan times I would have been burned as a witch for being obstinate.

Thanks for the reference. Didn't watch the film yet but read the article. Been to Winnipeg a lot as I live just south of there.

I've never had that one. I get a pre-visit screening questionnaire about how many times do I fall, how many days do I have anxiety, how often do I feel hopeless. Uh, never, every day and constantly since the last presidential election. What really ticked me off was one they made me complete about 5 years ago on my sexual activities and partners. I asked the doc WTF and he was so embarrassed but said Medicare required it. BS, Dh's doc at the same clinic didn't ask him anything. It's about like the questionnaire I get before my mammo. Which has been done at the same clinic since late 90's. Questions like "when was your last exam? what were the results?" My answer last year was blunt, "look that crap up in your records" ooh ooh, I'm looking forward to those questions since I've been celibate my entire life. Starting to think of some creative answers just to make the doc embarrassed And I have been faithfully married for 46 years.

When they first started electronic records the pediatric nurse asked me if Gwen smoked. She was four. I responded yes she does she's up to four packs a day and I just don't know what to do. The nurse said she "had to" ask that question otherwise the software would not let her move forward. Did you really? Pretty sure you could have just clicked "no". I guess several parents had gotten offended.. .gee wonder why?

BS, Dh's doc at the same clinic didn't ask him anything. I agree- I've been on Medicare since 2018 and have never been asked questions that detailed. I did tell my doc I needed a refill of the Premarin cream that keeps certain activities from being VERY painful and she replied, "since you're sexually active, would you like me to order a test for STDs?" [img alt=" " class="smile" src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png"] The "draw a clock face" exercise reminded me of DH's last months. Overall his mind was working OK but one day he just seemed disoriented. I remembered that a psychiatrist friend in the family had once told me that asking a person to draw a clock face with numbers in the appropriate places was a good, quick test of cognitive function. He had a hard time with it and the result was so bad it was scary. I crumpled it up and threw it out. Fortunately his mind cleared up later- maybe it was just a couple of his meds interacting. I got the picture out of the trash0 even he was startled at how badly he'd done on it.

If you do this long enough, you learn to never assume anything, because you will be wrong. Same thing will happen if she is 12 and seen in theED. They will do a pregnancy test. Only need to be wrong once because you assume something to never do it again.

It tends to be for my wife. Think it through: there is a list of questions. The nurse could: 1) read each one out load, get and mark the response or 2) she could read each question silently to herself, process if the question had an obvious response based on the person it was being asked of, mark if it does/read out loud if it doesn't, and mark the response. I would prefer 1 as it would be a lot faster.

I do know at one time several years ago there was stats showing an alarming number of seniors were contracting HIV and other STD's because they didn't not use condoms. Evidently that was driven by (1) no need for contraception and (2) a perception that asking your partner to use condoms was rude or offensive. So maybe that's why my clinic started asking the questions

I laugh when I donate blood and they ask, "Aare you now pregnant or have you been in the last 6 months?" I guess they have to ask.

Never too much requirements for insurers, it allows them to look reasonable when they do not pay for a service.

THey also (CMS) use the data for reporting purposes--quality of care tracking. I know this from setting up some computer systems for various physician and hospital clinic practices. So they MUST ask, regardless, although the gender-specific questions can be avoided if not applicable.

Yes, my clinic is the first accountable care organization in the US. They maintain high standards because of that, to the point that they are pretty annoying sometimes. But that's okay because they do some really good things to like allowing job sharing for physicians who are parents, and being fully accessible to the trans community.

When I had surgery, I was told if I had to return to the hospital for an infection, Medicare would not pay and I could not be billed for it. The hospital would have to treat the infection on their dime. I am sure that is why I had a home health nurse checking and cleaning the incision for 3 weeks. Medicare covered her visits and I did not get an infection.

"I actually took one when I, uh, very recently, when I was, uh, when I was — you know the radical left was saying, ‘Is he all there? Is he all there?’ And I proved I was all there ‘cause I aced it, I aced the test, and he should take the same exact test, a very standard test at Walter Reed Medical Center. I took it in front of doctors, and they were very surprised. They said, ‘That’s an unbelievable thing, very rarely do people do what you just did.’
That's such bullshit. Most people can pass that that test, easily. His supporters will lap it up. I'd like to see the names of those doctors. Nobody said any such thing. But, it's Trump. Lies atop of other lies, which rest on another pile of lies.

It goes medical school, residency, specialist, 30 or so years experience? Meh, just another elitist! He ACED the trump test? OMG, MAGA! That is the doc for me! And take a shower afterwards. I am on my phone, so can’t post a link. But search mini mental status exam to see the test. If you have a college degree, especially from an elite school, and you can’t get a 29, you may be headed for trouble

Anyone who is cognitively intact and has half a brain can do it. Nothing to brag about. It is a screening test to see if there is a reason to be concerned, nothing more. But the morons who love trump will think it is some sort of accomplishment
