what's the big deal? I take one every year as part of my physical and probably every other person on Medicare takes it, too. Aced it? The questions are downright silly like what's my name, where am I, three or four or five random words that the doc mentions, a few more simple questions, after about 20-30 minutes asks me to recite the words she gave me (once she asked me to recite them backwards!), tells me to draw a clock and gives me the time to put on the face, name pictures of animals, stuff like that. I wouldn't swear to it, but I think it's called the Montreal something or other. I also think that one of the reasons so many people who are drifting toward Alzheimer's "ace" the test is because it's such a simple thing. That and they know they're being "tested" so call upon their rational selves to answer correctly.
Maybe I'm all wet, but that test isn't going to tell us anything about his mental fitness. And anyway, we already know about his mental fitness (or lack thereof).

Drat. I just changed the channel, and there was a doctor on talking about this very thing. I only got to see the tail end of it where he said that it was part of a physical. Anybody see? Tell me what he said!

This reminded me of one of my Grandma stories. The doctor had given Grandma the random words to remember etc. After her appointment she wrote them down so she could study and remember them for the next appointment. She was really mad when at the next appointment he had different words.

That is the same test my dad took when we took him in for dementia screening. Sadly he knew all of the answers except one.
Less than a year later, he died. Cause of death per death certificate: dementia

See? It's easy to ace. And it might mean that I'm well on my way (along with trump)!
ETA: I'm really ticked. My doctor didn't call all her colleagues to gather 'round and ooh and aah over my acing the test.

I've never had that one. I get a pre-visit screening questionnaire about how many times do I fall, how many days do I have anxiety, how often do I feel hopeless. Uh, never, every day and constantly since the last presidential election. What really ticked me off was one they made me complete about 5 years ago on my sexual activities and partners. I asked the doc WTF and he was so embarrassed but said Medicare required it. BS, Dh's doc at the same clinic didn't ask him anything.
It's about like the questionnaire I get before my mammo. Which has been done at the same clinic since late 90's. Questions like "when was your last exam? what were the results?" My answer last year was blunt, "look that crap up in your records"

I always get annoyed/amused by when they would ask me to verify my name multiple times after I had the kids. They would be holding my wrist and pointing at my name band. I was so tempted to ask them to cover it up and at least make it a challenge. I also want to write random shit on those questionaires they hand you at every office and see if anyone actually reads them.

Medicaid in Oregon sent me this very detailed questionnaire about nearly every aspect of my life that's just plain none of their freaking business. I threw it out and won't be completing it.

After my dad had triple bypass surgery he was in the recovery room when the nurse asked him a few questions to see if he was coming out from the anesthesia. The nurse asked him his name and he replied correctly. The nurse asked him if he knew what day of the week it was and the day's date. Dad answered the day of the week correctly and was one day off on the day's date. The nurse then asked my dad if he knew where he was. Dad seriously replied "Hamden Street jail?" The nurse laughed and said close enough. Dad would be okay.

It called the mini-mental status exam, or some people call it the Montreal something or other. It is a screening test for dementia. it is scored out of 30, and it is graded on a sliding scale based on educational level. So those of you who have advanced degrees should get a perfect score, or you are in trouble. Yes, the most stable, bestest genius had better get a 30, or there is a risk of cognitive impairment. The day I don't get a 30, I might just start to cry.

I quit college when I married Whatsisname, the Father of My Children, and only went back here and there until about 35 years ago and never finished. Does that mean I got an easier test or just make me clever at taking it? I wonder if he ever took a Wonderlic test and what he scored

I saw that, trump took that test two years ago and was recently bragging to a room of staffers about how well he did. He claimed all the doctors were astonished that he passed it.
I don’t think he realized what that meant. They expected he would fail.
Idiot.

My neurologist gave me one, said no issue there was perfect, but that was a year ago, now I wonder. Hubs asked me my SS no yesterday and on the last 4 digits I went blank. I told him if he had not asked I would have remembered. I had to go to the other room for a bit and it popped into my head. But I have never done that before. My MIL had a dementia test, drawing a clock, some words, not sure now been about 6 years ago. We came out and she said I was perfect on that one. I told her, I'm so sorry but you got none of them right. She said oh really, I didn't know that. Yes I knew she did not know, we just had to make it official. I so fear dementia. Hubs has it in his family, mom, her sister, some uncles, grandmother, and they think her mother. I'm am so hoping the genes from his dads family help. But his dad's sister had Parkinsons. We are both concerned. My family has none on either side I know of, no breast cancer, but some heart disease on dads.

Since neither you nor your doc can rat the other out, let 'er rip. Wish I could be a mouse in the woodwork.
Whatsisname, the Father of My Children, left the seminary before taking vows. Said he didn't want to spend his life in a cold shower reading his breviary.

You are allowed to get more wrong before it is considered a problem

I don’t think he realized what that meant. They expected he would fail. Idiot. I don't believe he passed any test unless he has a doctor statement signed by two witnesses who are under oath and facing a minimum of 5 years of hard time if falsely witnessed. And then I want to see that statement so I can verify that no after the fact sharpie adjustments have been made. I might need to think whether that would suffice with this con artist, but for a quick check it should do.

All that to be assured that it's so, they're charged with a crime for falsely witnessing the document, get a pardon. Nope. That's not gonna work.

My mistake, what was I thinking You had a hard day beating back covid....perfectly understandable! Nah , back dealing with our usual clientele. Alcoholics, drug overdoses, the noncompliant ones, and the chronically ill. We have beaten covid back for the time being. For how long, who knows

Said he didn't want to spend his life in a cold shower reading his breviary. An older friend of mine, now in her early eighties entered the convent right out of high school. Once in, she knew she were would have no problem with poverty or chastity. But she found out real early she would have a problem with obedience. She didn't last thirty days in the convent.
