So is this performance from a prior year? It doesn't say. I just don't want to hear someone saying how we are endocrinating kids, blaming teachers for what is happening and on and on. This not the time for divisiveness. Way too late. That ship sailed more than four years ago. Hopefully it will sink November 3rd.

We're back from visiting DD and family. Hot dogs, corn, watermelon and strawberry daiquiris. Perfect 75 degree weather. Daytime toddler level fireworks. We're pretty tired from running around with an almost 2 year old all day. DD just moved to the country a few months ago, and is pretty amazed at the amount of gunfire that does on out there in the summer. This was all before whatever illegal fireworks will be going off tonight. Right now at home it is a perpetual barrage of explosions going off. I heard that home firework sales were at a record level with most public displays cancelled.
Harney County shot off a great display last night. I was sort of surprised that it went on for nearly 1/2 hour. In addition to the official fireworks, there were bottle rockets and the illegal stuff going off everywhere for hours. It sounded like war here, but it was really, really neat. I haven't experienced 4th of July in town for a long time. I hear the illegal fireworks come out of Idaho. Apparently they come here for the weed, people here go there for the fireworks.

My brother came up and brought his 3 kids and two friends up. We spent about 5 hours pull8ng the kids on tubes behind a jet ski, and DS was giving rides on the other. I am so sunburned I’m not going outside today.
Then at night we we went to a friends to watch fireworks. They are shot into the river but It was complete with a misfire that set the grass on fire. The fire was immediately put out.

I neither saw nor heard fireworks last night! Im in the high desert area of Arizona right now. Complete redneck territory. I thought I'd hear something but it was very quiet.....not even gunfire.

You are one of the lucky ones. Here in Shelby county it is legal to possess firework but illegal to set them off without a permit. Screw permits! As usual, a horror show in the neighborhoods. Zero folks setting off fireworks late into the evening care one whit about disturbing their neighbors. I hate the 4th of July a little bit more each year.

I live right next to tribal lands so am used to constant "illegal" fireworks. This whole not hearing any was strange to me.

Fireworks are legal here. They have now been happening for the last 3 nights. Last night was by far the worst. Neighbor 2 doors away had quite the show.
Poor Lucy Cat spent hours in hiding.

Our church is in a rural area south of Kansas City that's only starting to get developed. I noticed when I went there yesterday to clean that there were 3 giant fireworks stands within just a few miles of the road the church is on and they were all doing a brisk business. This morning I noticed that one section of our large, newly-repaved parking lot was littered with bits of exploded fireworks and marks on the blacktop from the explosions. Some nearby suburbs forbid setting off fireworks within their limits so people just go elsewhere.

The big fireworks we're legalized here maybe 5 years ago, and it's been a pain in the ass ever since. At least they limit the days you can fire them off to around the holidays. My kids camped out in the backyard Friday night, despite the fireworks. They tried to sleep out again last night, and my youngest came in crying because he was scared. Some closer neighbors were lighting them off.

Fireworks are illegal in my city but who gives a F? Our block was nightmarish, 2+ hours of fireworks within 300-400 feet of our house. Cat was freaking because the booms were right at the end of our driveway. Call the police? No, sorry, an off-duty officer was part of the party crowd and he see's all reports/calls filed.

Our official.firework show was cancelled weeks ago (surprise) and fireworks are illegal here. So of course that means for the last several weeks fireworks went off all day and evening. Still no pets and no kids - so I could easily ignore it. However yesterday someone really close by must have hit the bottle too hard and when s/he woke up set off all his fireworks. Did I mention that this was really close by? Did I also mention that this happened at THREE friggin' AM? I just about had a heart attack and I was less than pleased. Crimmeny...

There were quite a few small fires and I just saw on the news that an apartment building caught fire and around 10 families had to evacuate. The FF were putting out the roadside fires, while there were still fireworks lit in the background.
With the summer fires season beginning in CA I don't know why people have to be so stupid.
