People have been shooting off fireworks for the past two weeks here. Super annoying when it's midnight and I'm trying to sleep.

Plans? Surely you jest. Like @pinkcshmere, I'm too skeert to go anywhere, but it doesn't really matter because there's nowhere to go. DD got a thundershirt for Mollydolly; here's hoping it helps. I’d be interested to know if tbe thundershirt helps: thinking of getting one for Cass

People have been shooting off fireworks for the past two weeks here. Super annoying when it's midnight and I'm trying to sleep. Ha. Fireworks started at the beginning of June here. Since the beginning of June, from Friday thru Sunday starting at 7pm thru about 5am there's a constant barrage of fireworks. I assume there's some sort of sign up sheet so not everyone shoots off their fireworks at the same time which would allow for a few hours of blessed silence. This year is worse than last year - I'm expecting the fireworks to go non stop around the clock from tonight (it started at about 5pm) thru July 13th or so - and then it will be back to dusk til dawn Friday thru Sunday until August. I really, really, really, HATE fireworks (I never use to). I'm so far gone - that if I hear a kid lost a hand or an eye from fireworks I'd probably just go "well, there you go. Sucks to be you.". I wouldn't even offer "thoughts and prayers".

Nothing. Was supposed to be refinishing the hard wood floors but I can't find a finish I like so that's still in progress. I'll work tomorrow to try to get caught up. Maybe try to clean my bedroom. Do some yard work. Build a knife block and cell phone charging station with ds and find out from dd what she'd like to do.

Work gave us a surprise day off Wed so I went to the beach. Was going to do the pool today but it rained early. If I'm up early enough I'm thinking of paddleboarding. Then my friend is out of town and I'm quasi-house sitting for the next 10 days so I plan to use the pool while avoiding people Sat & Sun.

Fireworks the last two nights here. It will be much worse tonight, Saturday and Sunday. I can't remember when they become illegal again in our town.
Poor Lucy spent a lot of time under the bed last night, looking at me with pitiful eyes.

The pool you will be using Saturday and Sunday: is it your friends' pool, the house you are house sitting? If yes, make sure someone knows where you are if you will be alone at the house and pool just in case something happens to you.

I put out a request for TV/movie recommendations on FB last night, and got a pretty sizable list in response. I'll be working through that this weekend, I think. either upstairs or down. the golden followed me up here when I came up to make coffee and toast, so I blocked the stairs at the top and we will hang out up here for awhile.

I'm on the roster to clean the church this week and decided to do it tomorrow since I don't have any other plans.
Some of my neighbors have been shooting off fireworks across the lake every night but they're usually done by 10. When I visit DS and DDIL I buy sparklers and poppers (the pebble-sized packets of gunpowder you throw on the ground) on the way up- my granddaughters love them. They're both fine with sparklers and I'm always with them. I brought their 1-year old brother out to watch them throw poppers and he liked it; put him back inside when the sparklers were out.
I worked in insurance for too long, but I can't see myself buying them anything bigger or louder; don't want to cause injuries or start a fire on somebody's roof.

Going to a grand daughter's Freedom Fest. A lot of family. A lot of food.
I doubt I will make it to the 11 p.m. fireworks shoot. 11 p.m. is when the sun is down here!

We don't have much on the agenda, but we usually don't anyway. I think local fireworks shows have all been cancelled, but expect regular people will make up for it in the most annoying way. It hasn't been bad so far, so who knows. We talked about camping out with the kids in the backyard, but I'm not sure with the fireworks situation.
My MIL invited herself over. At first, it was a non-starter with me, but I told my DH only if we stay outside the whole time, at a distance. He thinks we've been good at social distancing, while I feel like our SD has gone to shit. He's going to work everyday without a mask (in Grand Rapids of all places), and the kids are in contact with other kids at the park, playing ball, etc. I told him he needs to explain to his mother we could very well have CVD19, and she needs to be very careful around us because she isn't very healthy to begin with. I hope she's not an idiot about this. We were safer to get together on Memorial Day, though we didn't.

We are going to a family get-together at my parents' house. We haven't seen them since early March, and they are a little stir crazy being cooped up at home. Two of my sibs that live nearby have been doing all their shopping, so they haven't needed to go out. DS2 called us last minute yesterday - his employer put out the all hands on deck signal, they are desperate for people to work this weekend. They have a massive order that HAS to go out Monday, and they couldn't get the 80 temps they wanted, so are paying $50/hr for staff/friends/family/whoever to work any shift they can over the weekend. DS2 thought of DS4 who hasn't been able to find work for the summer. So DH ran him out to DS2's city last night; DS4 can easily make over $1k this weekend. I'm just a bit concerned about exposure: he's being thrown in this big pot of strangers (many of whom don't normally work there, either) in a different city than he just came home from (hunkered down in his college apartment). Of course, I am on to work next week, and DH begins summer school, too.

We are just staying home and grilling . Maybe swim , who knows. . Our town usually does a parade , fair , fireworks , etc but everything is cancelled . The only thing we’ll miss is the parade , the rest , not big .
Big plus about all this , we don’t have to put up with family members visiting this year .

And my parents know I'm either home or there plus have location on my phone. It's a shallowish pool so most of the time I'm there by myself I'm just on a float reading my kindle. So smaller risk. They also are briefly coming back Sunday before they go elsewhere so I'd be found then. 😬 (sorry I have a bit of gallows humor)

Change of plans. Three of DH's brothers and a nephew will be bringing their father's power recliner over then they will get the real work out trying to stuff DH into a car. Only way they'll get him over there because I am over the bitchfest he unleashes when I have to do it. Bleah

I put out 10 or so flags across the front lawn, the town puts flags on the utility poles out to here. We aren't doing anything. I may go over and wash down the basement steps, I scrapped off all the rubber stuff from old carpet they had on them. Then when it dries need to paint.
Think I'm going to bed, I can hardly stay awake. I have rollers in my hair that is going to be uncomfortable for awhile. Never sleep on them anymore.

I guess my DH isn't inviting his mother over today after all. He'll probably wait for more comfortable weather for us to visit outside. He wanted to even things up in case we go visit his father, but I mentioned the shit show with the numbers of new cases in South Carolina, as well as in the states we'd have to drive through to get there. If the numbers were better, I felt like we could have done it relatively safely, but not with how they are now. We are driving to Indiana tomorrow to check out a cello for my little guy. It's only 2 hours away, and we'll be masking up. I could have just bought it and paid $55 for shipping, but I'd rather see it first, and I don't trust it wouldn't get damaged in shipping. We could stand a little road trip to get out of the house, anyway.

we are outside for now, on the deck. I'm going to try to hold off heading down to the basement as long as possible. today's weather is just perfect, I want to be outside as much as I can.

It is perfect out, isn't it? I was surprised but got some yard work in before DH's brothers showed up. Now we're sitting around with five kids traipsing around. And DH is falling asleep in his wheelchair.

I didn't drown! Mostly because the quick afternoon showers turned into the whole damn day! Oh well, between the beach wed and my complex pool fri I've had more outdoors time than prob from the time I got off the cruise in March until now.
Still have next weekend of my private pool. Debating checking out my pool at lunch and starting a swim for lunch routine if not many are out there.

Hot and miserable out here. Hubs offered to take us to fireworks, I said no way am I getting out of here.
Fixed dinner. Strip steaks on the grill, baked potatoes in the microwave. Had mac salad and cole slaw. I got the steaks just perfect today, not to done and not to rare, proud of myself!!
Then I ate a bag of Boom Chicka popcorn. I can't put that stuff down without eating it all. Need to stop, said I wasn't ordering more.
So about it. I'm so tired like I was last night, hit the bed at 11:30, may do the same tonight.

At BIL and SIL with DH and DD. Had a great day playing on jet skis, float behind the jet ski, and playing in the water itself. I did have to make an trip to WM earlier but got some of what I needed. BIL, nephew, and DH are going on the jet skis early in the morning. DD and I will probably head to my ILs for a few minutes but not sure what else we will get into. I think DD won’t want to be in the sun too much as she got sunburned a little today. We’ll see.

I'm listening to the Boston Pops, no annoying political speaks here, just good patriotic music, quite refreshing.

We're back from visiting DD and family. Hot dogs, corn, watermelon and strawberry daiquiris. Perfect 75 degree weather. Daytime toddler level fireworks. We're pretty tired from running around with an almost 2 year old all day. DD just moved to the country a few months ago, and is pretty amazed at the amount of gunfire that does on out there in the summer. This was all before whatever illegal fireworks will be going off tonight. Right now at home it is a perpetual barrage of explosions going off. I heard that home firework sales were at a record level with most public displays cancelled.

So is this performance from a prior year? It doesn't say.
I just don't want to hear someone saying how we are endocrinating kids, blaming teachers for what is happening and on and on. This not the time for divisiveness.
