DH and I both have iphones and Microsoft Surface PCs. We have photos on an old desktop pc, the new laptops, and our phones. I want to get them in one place where they are accessible and backed up. What's your experience, pros and cons?
Thanks for the help.

All my photos taken on my phone are backed up to my google account. I've debated doing it to Amazon too for backup since it's free with Prime, but I haven't done it. The photos that I take on my DSLR are put on an external hard drive - ones I post are also usually put on google but I haven't uploaded every photo I take to google.

I backup all my photos to an external hard drive. Thank you, I forgot I have photos on one of those too. I was thinking of online in case of fire.... What do you do with the external hard drive? Take it into work?

I use Google photos. Very easy to use. You can see the photos on any device when you sign into your Google account.

My external hard drive connects to my laptop or desktop via USB. So, I simply connect my phone and the external hard drive to the desktop/laptop and transfer the photos between the two.

Take it into work? If it's backup you can store it in a fire box except when transfering files to it. My condo has sprinklers so I just keep mine in a case figuring that'd mostly protect it unless the fire starts in my unit in my second bedroom. Though maybe I should put it in my fire box.
