Old: Current: I'm most excited about the wall of pantry storage! They're painting the ceiling today and the walls and doors tomorrow. We're getting closer to it being finished!

Bottom picture: is that entry/exit door handle going to bang into the pantry storage wall/area?

Bottom picture: is that entry/exit door handle going to bang into the pantry storage wall/area? No. We have thingamajibbies (I can't remember what they're called) on the door so it won't open all the way. Once the cabinets are finished, we'll also put one on the far right pantry door so it can't hit the wall.

looks beautiful. Did you hire a contractor, or, are you doing the work yourselves?

My parents redid their kitchen as well! It must be going around.

Seeing this, I’m wondering if we should see about replacing the doors and drawer faces in our kitchen. The cabinets are in excellent shape, but the white laminate is chipping.
We aren’t spending money on travel....may as well consider this.

This is definitely going around. We’re just finishing up a kitchen and master bath reno - with luck this Friday.
Best kitchen features- cabinets that go to the ceiling, big lazy Susan base corner cabinet for a butt load of groceries, and lots of new lights, including under counter lights. In the bathroom- ditched the fiberglass tub for a tile shower.
Painful, and it took forever, but we had contractor grade everything before, and it was time for an upgrade.

I love that you got rid of the cabinets hanging over the peninsula—I hate those — what a dumb idea.

The whole peninsula made the room look so much darker than it is. We've got a huge window over the sink and the kitchen is so much brighter now!

It is just beautiful. I love the floor to ceiling cabinets, I so need something like that, but no room to put them.

More updates. We're actually moving back into the kitchen now. We're washing everything up before it gets put away, so it'll take us a few days to get resettled. I love the lighting inside the pantry doors!

Buystoys, love your under cabinet lighting. Looks like it’s a lot brighter than what we have and much more useful. Ours I’d classify as mood lighting rather than actual task lighting.

I love all those drawers. So much better than a regular cabinet with one tiny drawer and a shelf.

We aren’t spending money on travel....may as well consider this. I stumbled onto this this morning. The carpenter is currently here right now replacing the doors on the cabinet that we had custom made. They look awesome, and will look better when they darken to the shade of the base. However, this will just take time. The areas of the cabinets that were hidden from light and didn’t darken are the exact shade of the doors now.

I need to get my kitchen stove fixed. I just wanted to replace the thing, probably cost $400 or $500 to have them come down here to fix it. I called, they will call back with an appointment, sigh. I think the service call alone will be $125 or so, they have to come from the city. And hard to say when they can set up a time.
The thing is hard to light on the burners now, clicks over and over before picking up and sometimes whoofs. It seems to me its harder to cook stuff on the burners also, takes to long. I have heard the oven do it and it has to be turned up an extra 25 degrees now. I told hubs the damn thing is going to blow up. He thinks this one is better then the newer ones, its a Kenmore Elite, I wanted to get a Bosch.
So will it be better then now? I don't know, its not that old, maybe 5 years or so, it should not be doing this.
Then have a bunch of money in it and it still won't work. Same thing happened with my Samsung washer. It only lasted a few years.

Now that the cabinets are done, next step is getting the deck repaired. However, licenses are taking about 3 months so this is getting put on hold. So now we are looking at replacing the vanity tops with quartz, replacing the fixtures and toilets to high profile ones.
Not sure what else we would need to do inside the house other than this.....but we'd find something!
