So - goopers been repelling the mounting evidence of global warming for years.
Coronavirus was immediately dealt with in a similar fashion from the goop, faux news, etc.
At what point will people realize that they've been being duped for decades? Will they connect the dots? with coronavirus not waiting decades to a century for Armageddon like global warming, will this start to give them a glimmer on what's been happening?

doubtful. I think the best hope is that the small percent of intellectuals still present in the GOP give up on them, and start siding with rationals in the center and on the left, ensuring that meaningful change can happen without the GOP.

The Republicans used to have a bunch of smart people. Not anymore. This is the party that thinks a woman's body can prevent pregnancy, by itself, after rape. The party that said COVID would disappear once Summer arrived (at least, they didn't contradict the president in public, when he stated that). They've gone from a party of intelligent people, like Kissinger, to the village idiots. And, no backbone to speak up if one of their own is dead wrong on an issue. If you're not totally in lockstep with their beliefs, you become a "RINO" (Republican in name only). What a pathetic lot!

Buckley used to champion the intellectual right. love him or hate him, what he feared most was the John Birch contingent of the party, and he spent 50 years marginalizing them. but they finally won about 20 years ago, and what we have seen since then is a GOP without any intellectual center.

You forgot the best one in this list: this is the party that is rallying against the mandate of face masks using the slogan "my body, my choice". I have seen some pathetic attempts at justifying the use of the slogan when called out for its hypocrisy

I think trump will lose and within 18 months every GOP politician will forget he was ever a trump ally and pretend they stood with the moderate arm of the party against him.
Meanwhile the devoted trumpets will talk in ravishing terms about the fabulous trump administration and will angrily vote for far right racist candidates who (hopefully) will never again overwhelm the party moderate/ progressive wing.

Just saw, Carson, pence, and Birx on telly. When carson started lavishing praise, said birx is the only one that works all the time like the pres and doesn't sleep. OH MY GOD! I had to turn the channel, I just cannot stomach this BS. I guess this is the only way they can keep their jobs, who would want it?

'At what point will people admit they were taken in by lies?'
It's not easy to admit to 'yourself', let alone others, 'you' were conned.

'At what point will people admit they were taken in by lies?' It's not easy to admit to 'yourself', let alone others, 'you' were conned. Tiny has this quote in the signature and I think it is (unfortunately) highly appropriate here: One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back. -Carl Sagan, astronomer and writer (1934-1996)

I don't get it. How hard is it to admit you were wrong? You don't learn and grow if you are never wrong.

I don't get it. How hard is it to admit you were wrong? You don't learn and grow if you are never wrong. I totally agree with you. Admit being wrong (or not knowing) isn't a bad thing. Failing isn't bad or wrong either. You have to fail (sometimes many times) before you find a good answer or get to a good outcome. I think America has had a "culture" of no one likes losers/no one wants to be a loser for quite a few decades. Winning is what counts. Winning means you are powerful or influential or "right" or "good". Losers lose whatever "power" or "influence" they had. Once you are a loser - you are done. Losers are to be mocked. Losers cannot redeem themselves (thru effort or hard work). I think this is why there's so much "disbelief" about science - since in science it's OK to be wrong and to accept the new information and what it points to. That's losing. big time. The good guys always win. the losers are the evil guys. On the other hand.. I think some of it goes back to religion. Especially the Christian religion which has quite the dichotomy (good and evil). (and yeah, I've been watching Anime again. Where teamwork, and acknowledging that not everyone has the same skill levels is OK. Where the "moral" of the story is: it's ok to be weak/lose but, it's not ok to not strive to be "stronger" or to strive to "win". A person who is "weaker" than you - but who has worked hard to achieve what they have achieved is to be respected. Not looked down on or mocked. You can be friends/co-exist/work with people who aren't "as good as you". I rarely see this concept in American shows - cartoons, TV shows, or Movies for any age group. ) And I hear that "mocking of the losers" in the way people in real life talk about other people/groups in their lives.

What are you talking about. You do know that you need to slowly workup to the puzzles with many pieces right? My guess is that he is on the second puzzles of the toddler 4 pack (9, 12, 16, and 20 pieces) and he is sweating buckets to get this one completed without help. I may be giving him too much credit and he might be stuck on the 9 piece puzzle because the large pieces are too big for his hands but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Too ocd for a puzzle. Blasting out firey tweets fits his attention span. Only some of his tweets and retweets have fallen flatter than usual lately. He either doesn’t want to get re-elected or the dementia has dug in. I guess it could also be that he’s run off all his halfway competent staff and now he’s just winging it, with Ivanka and Kellyanne sitting there smiling and nodding their heads like bobble head dolls.

His tweets are failing because he is trying to change the subject, it just isn't working. Too many of his followers are concerned about their health. I do think anyone competent has left the building, and there is no one left who will challenge him, so he is left to his worst instincts

When you think ‘God chose him’ ... you can’t give up without serious introspection... of which many of them are not capable...

They weren't taken in by the lies. Trump was the only one supporting white supremacy. He still is. His supporters don't really care about much else.

Let's hope this military mess with the russians finally takes him down. But he seems to be the teflon don to his supporters and the repub party.
Bunch of losers.

My nephew asked me how long it was before Germans knew Hitler was bad. I explained he wasn't bad he was making Germany great getting rid of undesirables like Gypsies, Jews, disabled and elderly. He wasn't killing them just sending them to camps like we did with our Japanese in the war.
Trump supporters are the same way, he is getting rid of illegals, abortion and other bad things. Some people die but that is just too bad a few hundred thousand to the flu isn't reason to ask us to wear mask, our bodies our choice and if most of the greatest and silent generations die that is just the cost of greatness. Kids in cages helps teach illegals not to come here, a few die it is the cost of greatness.

Some of them, like my lovely SIL, love how aggressive trump is. sIL has stated she wants her elected officials to literally punch liberals in the face. Bipartisanship is a sign of weakness. Tolerance towards other Races, faiths or sexual orientations is Anti- American. Trump is their champion, and he can never do anything so wrong they will vote against him.

I agree, they had 8 years of getting their gut full of a black President. I'm sorry, it took me a long time to really admit how much Trump's base despised President Obama because he was black. How else could you justify their support of a candidate like Donald Trump? They elected a loud mouth New Yorker to stick it to the liberals, they didn't care what happened to the country. I'm mean, really, Donald Trump.....never really had any policies, they changed like the wind. Oh, and his big brag about the economy....who wouldn't be having a great economy if they were spending $1T more than they were taking in? The Republican party is nothing but a bunch of lies...and liars. The party that would spend one dime when the financial system melted down because they were busy trying to make President Obama a one term president, they spent $3T due to the virus.

If the German people were unaware of the final solution, or they silently accepted it, many German citizens were forced to visit camps like Buchenwald to see first hand what their leader did to the supposed enemies of Germany. Picture of forced viewing behind the spoiler.

After the concentration/death camps were liberated by the Allies, German citizens were not only forced to view the dead but to bury the dead too.
