Fox News Article today: Obama admin VA hospitals used term 'Kung Flu' in official online, marketing materials
"Become a Kung Flu Fighter! Get Your Flu Shot!" ... It was unclear why the hospitals were referencing "Kung Flu," other than to make an attempt at humor. Unlike now, the term was not used during a pandemic when an outbreak began in China, as it did with COVID-19. www.foxnews.com/politics/va-hospitals-kung-flu-term-marketing-materials-obama-administrationSo during a year that Barak Obama was President, two local VA hospitals came up with a marketing scheme to play on similar sounding words to encourage people to get their annual flu shot. This is news today why?

This is news today why? Because Obama was black. If someone under Obama said it and nobody got pissed then it's not racist for Trump to say it in direct relation to a virus that started in China. This logic is used for a lot of words and phrases that white people like to say that are racist. Context is immaterial.

Back then it was an attempt at humorous word play using a known martial art. Sorta cute. Trump’s usage? Not so cute and we all know that, but FOX has found a connection so as to cover his racist ass. A whataboutism special.

two things:
2015 is starting to sound like 1980 these days.
Obama is not responsible for everything the VA says.
so, are we comparing the speech of the VA to the words of Trump now, because that is seriously deranged.

It was two local VA medical facilities running local motivation campaigns to increase the number of people getting their annual flu shot. Which takes it beyond "seriously deranged ".

Pretty much. I think the paid RW spinners immediately look for instances that occurred while Obama was President to make viewers feel OK, because if it happened while Obama was President of course he approved.

The 2015 fighter doesn't look Chinese. It's weird to me. Why a monkey and not a human? You are talking about a motivation campaign put together by a relatively small regional medical facility in small town USA (Walla Walla, WA). Someone heard about or maybe came up with this idea. Then some person in a public relations office went about designing a poster. They found that image of the monkey on some free clip art site. Their co-worker (if there is actually more than one person doing PR work for this place) thought it was cute so they went with it.

The 2015 fighter doesn't look Chinese. It's weird to me. Why a monkey and not a human? Because when it was created back in 2015 by a couple of Tennessee VA facilities, it was thought to be a cute picture to kick the flu? I don't know. But 100% harmless as it had zero reference to China being the origin of that year's flu strain.

Here is the one from Tennessee: We are talking about a campaign aimed to motivate me. I am the target audience, an older vet. If I was walking down the hallway of a VA Medical Center and glimpsed the Tennessee poster, I would assume some local martial arts center had put it up for me to enroll my grandkids and keep walking. The monkey and cartoon germ would be more likely to grab my attention as being kinda weird.

It’s funny how the WH has to dig back in time and sideline out to some random VA folks to find an offensive Asian racial slur.
Much easier to find the footage of Kellyanne Conway yelling at a reporter about how racist it is to use that term, then a few months later the video of her bending into a pretzel to explain why that very same term is NOT racist the way Trump used it.
I don’t know how her head does not explode having to defend the indefensible every day. What a sucky job.

To be fair, it was a Fox News article, not directly from the White House. The article linked in the OP does indicate "Fox News has learned" but doesn't specify from where they learned it.

Their new word: Radical mob “If the president does lose, that means just a few months from now, Joe Biden would become the president,” he added. “The United States government would fall into the control of the radicals who controlled Joe Biden and they will remake the country. Now, we are fully aware that virtually nobody watching the show tonight wants to hear that, but it’s true, and key people around the president know that it’s true. They’ve seen the numbers, and they are concerned.” But of course, the poor President, gotta get this one your rant: The Fox News host, however, excused the president's failures as being an offshoot of the Russia investigation, insisting Trump was “exhausted” from defending himself against “the most elaborate and effective hoax in American history.”When the hell are they going to frog march someone to prison? Saying that if the “rioters were Saudi nationals” then the president would “understand immediately it is terrorism” and mass arrests would be made, the Fox News star grumbled that the Department of Justice isn’t responding like this. “So far, no one has been arrested for it,” Carlson declared. “It would change the course of this country’s future if the Justice Department rounded up the leaders of antifa tomorrow, along with every single person caught on camera torching a building, destroying a monument, defacing a church, and put them all in shackles and then frog-march them in front of cameras like MS-13 and call them what they actually are, domestic terrorists.”www.msn.com/en-us/news/opinion/tucker-carlson-warns-trump-you-could-well-lose-this-election/ar-BB15YLoT?ocid=spartan-dhp-feeds

He does best when fear monger gets, so he needs a new scapegoat this team. Fear of brown people trying to tear down your sacred states it is!

I didn’t watch the Han it’s interview last night but I heard hannity asked trump for one action item he hoped to do in his second term and trump couldn’t think of a single thing.
The debates should be interesting this election season.
