I was lucky enough that a neighbor, one I didn't even know, was making masks for people when all this started. She gave me two. It has an insert, t-shirt ties, and pleats. It is fine. I'd like one that loops over the ears just so I can get my hair cut, but I am not going to order from Etsy. I am sure you have to pay shipping as well. I haven't seen them for sell elsewhere, but I don't really shop these days. I tried making one . . . major Pinterest fail. I didn't understand the directions. I still have enough to make another one if I need to now that I understand what they are supposed to look like. I actually keep this one in the car in case I need one and didn't bring one with me. It works, but it isn't that pretty. Having only 2 and keeping them washed is a major pain. Picture only having 2 pairs of underwear. They said in the beginning that they should be made out of cotton. Have they changed that? Susanna If you’ll PM me your address I’ll make you a couple that loop over the ears Please and thank you. I will happily PayPal you the postage.

I bought a package of neck gaiters. They are pretty comfortable for the face covering part, but I do not like the part around my neck. I think it is a personal issue, my neck is very large and I don’t like turtlenecks.

We got cloth ones from the dry cleaners but I've never worn mine. It's a blue floral print. The guy ones are on off white. I should dye those. DH wore it once and complains it looks like underwear. They have all kinds of options and monograms now.
We have two packages of bandanas. My MIL took one.
When I go out, I've been wearing a disposable surgical mask. My brother gave me a pack and I got one off Amazon.
DH has been wearing one of the KN95s I got. They have a nose wire in them.
For summer, I got several gaiters from Columbia. They were hard to find. They are a white background with blue dots.

I made my own masks from some leftover elastic from my mom's collection of sewing goods (good I didn't get that far in cleanout!) and a pillowcase from a set of sheets that was going to donate. The directions were pretty straightfoward, although with using a pillowcase I didn't bother with sewing a bottom seam - I just used the existing seam from the pillowcase. My elastic does go around my ears; the website I used also provided instructs for around the head. My only adaptation was that they suggested a 7" length of elastic, but I think that 7.5" worked better. It gave me more wiggle room to ensure the elastic was in the seam, and the disposable masks seem to mostly have a 7" long "available" section of elastic. It is a 2 layer mask, which would allow for additional filtration. But I like really high thread count sheets, so I don't need it. For those who are interested (the video is much more helpful than the written instructions): I have been looking on line for other masks. I might just try to find more elastic and make more from my other pillowcase. I also have a bunch of disposable ones. I just need to find more elastic. Oh -and if you make your own masks and want to wash them in the washing machine, don't cut the elastic in half. It will fray in the machine.
