...at his rally tonight? He's got a chance to save some face, but you know he's incapable of that. Instead, he's sure to say some awful stuff and really step in it. He's gotta have so much pent up bs from all this time away from his rabid cult followers that he's sure to realease in a vile tidal wave of spewtum. But how much will he mess things up for himself?
A) A little. B) A lot. C) A metric buttload. D) He'll make the gaffe of all gaffes and say the worst thing yet.
I'm popping up a bunch of corn. Can't wait!

he'll be an idiot and none of his "rabid cult followers" will care. and none of the rest of us will learn anything new.

I am more concerned that he will feed off the energy from the crowd and hold more rallies more frequently, Covid be damned.

I am starting to think, that maybe Trump (and his administration/people behind him) DON"T want him to be re-elected. Think about the social and economic mess that will be America in 2021 and beyond. Trump might be better off losing - so he (and the republican party) can crow about how much better everything would have been if they had been re-elected.
Isn't that a common business tactic? Cut your losses? Take the money and run? And wasn't he elected as a "business man"?? And wasn't there the theme that America should be run like a business?
I would think he (and his party) wouldn't be pushing all that hard for re-election. Why take on a losing cause?? Doesn't make business sense. I'm not sure Trump/Republican party is clever enough/powerful enough (as in getting everyone they need on their side) to take a "disastrous mess" and have the vision, the dedication, the charisma to make it into something working/new....

Trump's ego will not let him lose. I hope he loses by a landslide, and spends the rest of his life whining about how he was cheated.

Who cares if their ICUs are overrun and there is no hospital bed space? He certainly does not. The only thing that will stop tRump is if a lot of people get sick and die, and realize that PH was right. But that’s going to hurt a lot of people in the meantime. He is one selfish bastard.

<<How bad will Trump screw himself...>> That ship sailed a long time ago, together with the metric buttload limit. There are no more boundaries on this. He has threatened protesters who show up and I have no doubt that along with his rabidly loyal goonie squad of fanatical followers, he would be more than happy to unleash the hounds (or tear gas or batons or rubber bullets) on anyone near the site who even looks like they might possibly maybe perhaps be thinking he's reached the point of certified no return status.

Don't blame the pig, blame those who continue to feed him.
I feel bad for those unwillingly exposed due to the stupidity of the people who attend the rally. Healthcare workers, family and colleagues, etc. There will be consequences due to this rally. It won't be pretty.

I dunno. What if that something new is a fascist regime with a POTUS For Life? It's not like such things have historically risen when a country is healthy and doing well. Just a thought.

According to one article, Trump has already targeted several excuses for losing. I think if he could settle on the virus and not keep linking it with China, he could have an effective cover argument and a way to miss 2021 which might be as trying as 2020 pandemic-wise.

It's being reported that 6 of DT's front folks for the rally have tested positive for the virus...who would have thought! ETA...just read on CNN...they are campaign staffers.

An interviewer asked trump if he was concerned that Ivanka, who will be sitting with the crowd at the rally, could get the virus.
He said yeah, she might get it, but she’s young so she would be fine.
Ok, asshole, but you’re not young, you’re okay with being infected by the princess?

Ok, asshole, but you’re not young, you’re okay with being infected by the princess? He has no thought that he will get it. He thinks he is too special to get it. He also doesn’t believe anything bad could possibly hurt him or his family. One reason he is basically ignoring any possible negative consequences to anything he does

The overwhelming majority of people in the building aren't wearing masks. Curious to see if trump will be more than 6 feet from everyone to avoid their spittle or not.

In Italy, a soccer match, which was outdoors, was a superspreader event. Neighborhood of 100k people. If 100,000 people were really in the area of the rally, in an area where cases are increasing, does anyone really think this isn’t a disaster in the making. And republicans can shut up about the protests now, because they have also thrown gasoline on the fire. If we start seeing 50k cases a day next month, you know why

Well, Trump managed to fuck himself pretty good.
He claimed he told 'his people' to slow down Coronavirus testing because more testing finds more cases.
Which some have compared to a murder confession.
Of course WH claims Trump was joking.
Also, AP had three reporters near the entrance to the event and saw no protestors trying to stop anyone going into the arena - Trumps folks claims it was fear of the terrifying protestors the kept them home.
Yeah because it couldn't be a deadly virus they were afraid of. Obviously, it had to be protestors.
