Here's the article I was looking for. The other link just details the doorman incident. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8423945/Central-Park-Amy-Cooper-tried-doorman-fired.htmlIt has also since emerged that Cooper is now friends with and goes on vacation with the ex-wife of a man she allegedly had an affair with following a brief battle that involved a lawsuit. Cooper filed a lawsuit in 2015 against Martin Priest - a married man she worked with at Lehman Brothers between 2005 to 2008. In the lawsuit, Cooper said the pair were in a relationship and she had lent him $65,000 so he could divorce his wife and pay for another woman he was involved with to have an abortion. Her lawsuit claims that after she gave him the money she found out Priest's wife Tianna was pregnant and that he was going to marry another woman who was also pregnant.

nypost.com/2020/05/28/amy-cooper-once-slammed-friend-for-voting-for-obama/Martin Priest, a former friend of Amy Cooper who’s known her since 2003, claimed that when he told her he voted for Obama, the first black president of the United States, she slammed his decision, saying she couldn’t “believe” it. Priest claimed the asset manager developed romantic feelings for him and began “stalking” and “harassing” him when those feelings went unrequited, leading him to report her to the police twice, once in New Jersey and once in New York City. The Post confirmed that reports were made in both jurisdictions. (Martin Priest is the man she allegedly had affair with and lent $65K to. According to this article, he lost his job over it.)

She does come off as being one of those people who like to live a chaotic, dramatic life.
I can see how she was able to cry on cue to the cops.

Not a uncommon for those kinds of people to be perpetual victims in their own minds. Kind of like trump.

Do these articles change your view on Amy Cooper or does it reinforce them? I've witnessed people slide seamlessly into the "script" and "behavior" she performed in the NYC phone video. Not necessarily where the "outraged" or "humiliated" or "confronted" person plays the race card - they play whatever they think the person they are trying to intimated will find intimadating (could be an appeal to their boss (job loss) for example.) You don't get as good at it as Amy Cooper demonstrated in that video without a lot of practice. I truly feel sorry for all the service people she's encountered and will encounter in the future. I bet she's played the appeal to authority card on waiters, cab drivers, anyone who has "offended" her in a store or other place of business. She's probably done it to family and friends. I didn't really need to see more of her "life story" to reinforce my opinion. I thought she was hoping for an Oscar for that performance in the phone video. She's had lots and lots of practice.

Amy Cooper was a 'Karen' long before her claim her former employer turned her into a 'Karen'. Woman sues ex-employer for racial discrimination after viral Central Park incidentAmy Cooper, the white woman who called 911 over an encounter with a Black man while walking her dog in Central Park last year, has sued her former employer for alleged racial and gender discrimination. The complaint was filed in New York federal court on Tuesday, exactly a year after Amy Cooper was caught on cellphone video in a verbal dispute with birdwatcher Christian Cooper, during which she falsely claimed to police that an "African American man" was threatening her and her dog. The footage of the incident went viral on social media and sparked outrage. The following day, Amy Cooper was fired from her job at the Franklin Templeton investment firm. In a statement, the company said it terminated Amy Cooper immediately following an "internal review" of the incident and that "we do not tolerate racism of any kind." The lawsuit alleged that Amy Cooper was "characterized as a privileged white female 'Karen'" due to the company's public statements and alleges that the company did not perform an investigation into the incident, as publicly stated, and did not speak with Christian Cooper or obtain the full 911 calls. "Even a perfunctory investigation would have shown that Plaintiff did not shout at Christian Cooper or call the police from Central Park on May 25, 2020 because she was a racist -- she did these things because she was alone in the park and frightened to death after being selected as the next target of Christian Cooper, an overzealous birdwatcher engaged in Central Park's ongoing feud between birdwatchers and dog owners," the complaint stated. She got pissed she was called out by a fellow bird watcher for breaking the rules and did a little over the top drama to the police by pretending to be scared of a black man - and yes that is racist. Hopefully this gets tossed as frivolous, but no doubt she’ll find something else to sue someone else over. Seems to be her passion.

I hope she gets to pay the employer's court costs. She's like that idiot that tackled the kid even though she left her phone in the Uber or whatever it is. You are racist. We know it. Maybe next time don't be an idiot.

I think it was White Fragility that talked about the "white woman in distress" troupe and how women like Cooper know how to maximize it's use. I would imagine if we really dissected it down "Karens" are but another manifestation of it without the racist overtones.

I'm guessing her lawyer(s) are basing their success on the wording of her Employer's "reasons we can let you go with out notice" that was used as a reason to end her employment. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and how it effects the wording in employee handbooks across America (as in employers UPDATE their handbooks) . Anyone know what law firm is representing her? I wonder where the money/backing is coming from?? Franklin Templeton investment (her previous employer) isn't a "light weight". I'm guessing they've got their HR ducks in a row. I'm guessing she's got some heavy weight lawyer(s). This is gonna be expensive. This is one of those cases about the divide between a person's "personal time" and "work time" - as in when are they NOT representing their employer... my employee handbook pretty much says I'm ALWAYS representing my employer at work or at home and my employer can "fire" me for stuff I've done outside of work that's not work related - because it could adversely effect my employer's reputation/client base. OR something to that effect. That's what this lawsuit is about.

The audacity. He should know his place. I have to quibble here. I think that you are making a big mistake attributing Ms. Cooper's bizarre and pathetic behavior to her own racism. She's definitely using racism as a weapon. but she's the type that will weaponize anything.
I'm scared to death to say this but I have to. I don't want deny in any way the ugliness of the weapon that Ms. Cooper picked up or how effectively it can be wielded by others. I don't want to minimize the danger that she put Mr. Cooper in. She was completely willing to get him killed because he called her out, but she does less potentially lethal versions of this trick all the time.
I have my own experiences with characters like Ms. Cooper and I strongly believe that attributing their bizarre, pathetic, and dangerous behavior solely to the racism (and other -isms) that infect our culture doesn't explain her behavior and provides no useful advice to someone who might encounter a character like her.
I've seen some of these characters in action. They will grab anything and everything to use as a weapon. If they perceive an opportunity to use racism, homophobia, sexism, classism or anything else, either one way or another, they will do so. They'll weaponize whatever is at hand.
My own version of this piece of work is either racist or anti-racist depending on how it benefits her. I've seen her cuddle up to white single mothers of black children until they smelled the deceit in her and then turn against them in violent ways. I've seen her cuddle up to vulnerable, isolated, homophobes one year and, once that person was gone, attempt to ingratiate herself and serve as the protector of an openly gay, HIV-positive, coworker the next year.
These folks use anything that they think will work and the way that they exploit weaknesses is scary as hell. The weaknesses that they exploit say a lot about how sick our own society is but the person using them may be entirely opportunistic. Let me repeat myself. Shameless, pathetic persons like Ms. Cooper will use anything available and honestly believe that they will never be caught in their own deceit.
It takes a (trained) hero like Mr. Cooper to expose someone like Ms. Cooper, and even someone who has this kind of madness on tape seems to err on the side of charity.

I do agree that she likely plays this game often, in many different variations. It probably has made every portion of her life bad at one point or another.

This Karen doesn’t have a leg to stand on. I agree. But we are in the era of trumpism. I think child porn still holds some repulsiveness for the majority of Americans. Ms Cooper's choice to use racism to intimidate someone who wasn't doing what she wanted doesn't hold the same repulsiveness these days. Plenty of Americans are OK with racism. And being Ok with Racism no longer means you have to be quiet about it - or do it on the down low. trump made it ok to be openly racist. It goes along with that couple that came out of their home (or showed up) at a BLM protest/rally flashing their guns. It goes along with trump declaring some "very fine people" were at the Charlottesville protest. She played the racism card (it was the best tool for her situation). And she shouldn't have been fired for that because it's OK to be racist in America. I will admit - if she had played some other card to intimidate Mr. Cooper - we probably wouldn't be having this conversation. But from her point of view what was more intimidating "one of those BirdWatchers is harassing me! He wants to hurt my little dog! I'm afraid!" or "There's a Black Man harassing me! He wants to hurt my little dog! I'm afraid!" She played the strongest card she had for the situation. And if THAT doesn't prove racism in America is alive and well - I don't know what does.

Amy Cooper is a sorry excuse for a woman. The info provided by the OP shows that she’s pathetic in more than one way.
I’ve wondered what would happen if a Karen tried me. Patience and tolerating stupidity have never been my strong suits and they are both at all time lows these days. I actually hope I never run into a Karen or Ken because it probably won’t go well for either of us if they aggravate me enough. I’m mostly non-violent, but there’s still a side of me that will try to knock somebody’s head to Alabama with enough provocation.
I hope she goes deep into debt and loses everything she owns to attorney fees from trying to fight her employer because they fired her stupid ass.

Your best weapon in that fight is a camera and you need to turn it on very quickly. These types are very, very good at giving performances that convince others that they must have missed something that happened earlier.
You probably won't turn the recording device on fast enough, but you'd be wise to keep on recording. This is basically a defensive fight.

Congratulations, Christian Cooper. New York Man Accosted By 'Central Park Karen' Gets His Own TV SeriesChristian Cooper will host National Geographic's "Extraordinary Birder," where he'll explore the "wild, wonderful and unpredictable world of birds." Christian Cooper, the Black man accosted by a white woman who became known as “Central Park Karen” during a birdwatching excursion in 2020, is set to embark on a new professional endeavor. National Geographic announced this week that it had tapped Cooper, a New York resident, to host a six-episode series titled “Extraordinary Birder.” According to the network, the show will explore the “wild, wonderful and unpredictable world of birds,” as seen from Cooper’s perspective. “Whether braving stormy seas in Alaska for puffins, trekking into rainforests in Puerto Rico for parrots, or scaling a bridge in Manhattan for a peregrine falcon, he does whatever it takes to learn about these extraordinary feathered creatures and show us the remarkable world in the sky above,” National Geographic said in a statement. Cooper told The New York Times on Monday that he was eager to encourage viewers “to stop and watch and listen and really start appreciating the absolutely spectacular creatures that we have among us.” “Extraordinary Birder” is expected to air on one of National Geographic’s channels and the Disney+ streaming service. A release date was not announced. A science writer and editor, Cooper was thrust into the public eye two years ago when Amy Cooper (no relation), walking in New York’s Central Park, called the police and falsely accused him of threatening her and her dog. “I’m going to tell them there’s an African American man threatening my life,” Amy Cooper said during the heated exchange, which Christian Cooper captured in a cellphone video. Amy Cooper was branded “Central Park Karen” for her actions. She lost her job at the investment firm Franklin Templeton and was briefly required to return her dog to a rescue agency after the footage went viral on social media. After apologizing in a public statement, she was charged with a third-degree misdemeanor for filing a false police report. The charge was later dropped. Though Christian Cooper said he viewed the woman’s actions as “definitely racist,” he nonetheless urged his supporters to “err on the side of compassion.” “I am told there has been death threats and that is wholly inappropriate and abhorrent and should stop immediately,” he told CNN’s Don Lemon in 2020. “I find it strange that people who were upset that ... she tried to bring death by cop down on my head, would then turn around and try to put death threats on her head. Where is the logic in that?” New York Man Accosted By 'Central Park Karen' Gets His Own TV Series

For a dedicated birder, I can’t think of a better opportunity than getting flown to various ecosystems to look for birds he hasn’t seen before.
