But if YOU could choose a place to go, and take your kids along, where would YOU most like to go?! No clue really. I like our loosely planned road trips...I think Glacier NP is next on the list. Plane travel makes me anxious. Just dealing with getting to airports and security and what not. Sometimes I think it would be cool to go to other countries but I know my anxiety over the traveling part and customs and what not would be through the roof in that case. Maybe as part of a group where the travel planner takes care of everything?

Group travel has been great for us. We've taken many trips that way. It's nice having all the arrangements already done.

I traveled in a group too, really liked it. Hope to do it again, but I don't know. Just like today, foot was fine and out of the blue can hardly walk again. Just hits me at times. I put a pair of New Balance on with my orthotics, helping some.
I notice there are trips and they say how vigorous it is, so would need to look at those. It will be hard enough to take me and DD will want to go and I can't handle helping her to get around. She will be devastated if she can't go as she likes to travel.
Looks like we will be driving to Seattle for Christmas. Even the cheapest flights are $750 round trip for each of us. We aren't going for Thanksgiving, so son and DIL are having a couple they know come up from Texas at that time. We won't drive out for both. I told hubs in time they will have to come here as we won't be able to go up there.
I keep checking on housing out there and it just keeps going up in price. It makes a really nice house out of the price range we can pay. And of course with rising interest rates, maybe less of a chance ours would sell for top dollar.

The mountain passes close too frequently this time a year. Best case, you hole up in a hotel for several days, worst you are stuck on the road when it closes. You’ll have more luck flying. If you do decide to drive, make sure you have chains and are set to hunker down in your vehicle.

Hubs thinks flying would be worse, with maybe ending up sitting in an airport. I have no idea.
We would likely go the southern route, as I've driven out west and would not go north. But not sure about the passes. Have no experience driving up that way in the winter. Will check that out.
I load down with everything when we drive. Extra food, water, clothing, blankets, lights, matches, you name it. Hubs thinks its silly, not me.
Many of the non stop flights only have a few seats left at this time.

The Gorge is a very reasonable path from there.
