And yet, I’m sure the rallies will be packed (although I would love it if no one showed up)

Last night, Trump gushed about how beautiful it was to see soldiers pushing back protesters’ ‘like a knife through butter.’
These were American protestors exercising their 1st amendment rights,
Starting to sound very fascist there, mr president.

No those were crazy liberal democrats trying to take over the world. Only white men in body armor with automatic rifles are allowed to exercise their first amendment rights. Especially when it's against an uppity female governor. .

I have a theory that trump has either run off or out right fired anyone with the balls to explain to him how he looks to the American electorate and he is left with people either too afraid to tell him the truth or with his wealthy white male buddies from mar a lago who tell him what a fantastic job he’s doing.
So he doesn’t realize how small, and shrinking, his base is. Hence him calling the polls fake news.
Truly the emperor has no clothes.

I was never his base, but somehow I'm on the Republican junkmailing list. A young man rang my doorbell this morning. He said he was from the Republican National party, and asked me to do a survey. I hate people coming to my door for crap like this or selling stuff (especially when it's cold out and I have to stand in the doorway), so I try to get them to go away as quickly as possible. I just flat out told him that I wasn't voting for any Republicans. He wished me a good day, and I responded in kind, and that was that.

Last 4th of July I went to the grocery store, and the bagger was wearing a 2020 trump MAGA. As soon as I got to the parking lot I called the manager and complained. She stated she had received numerous complaints. I called again from my landline when I got home. I asked if their store (part of Kroger) promoted this behavior by employees. He was a kid, but really, mgmt should not have let him on the floor with that shirt even though I live in a very GOP area.

If the t-shirt worn has something inappropriate on it, the kid has to wear the shirt inside out for the rest of the day, so no one has to see the message on it. Easy peasy.

He was a kid, but really, mgmt should not have let him on the floor with that shirt even though I live in a very GOP area. I was once in a checkout lane at a Kroger store when I heard my cashier say very loudly to another cashier and bagger that a teen co-worker (named by the cashier) had just come out to her that he was gay. The lines to cash out were four customers deep. We all heard what she said. When I got home I called the Kroger store and spoke with the manager. I told him what I had heard and reminded him that the gay employee might not have come out to his family and that any of the customers in line who heard the cashier out him might know the guy's family and tell them what he heard. The manager apologized and said he would speak with the employee with the loud mouth. I never saw the cashier again. Good riddance to big mouths.

As a former grocery store employee for many years & a front end manager....any kind of a "message" tshirt of any kind was not permitted. He would have been sent home to change, I would drive him home to change if he had no transportation of a parent would bring another shirt...all of my employees knew this..I'd driven some home to change before! It doesn't matter what the majority of the community is, one unhappy customer that complained means there were at least 10 who didn't complain & that will hurt business.
That store manager should know that about complaints...1 says something, 10 don't!

trump moved his rally from June 19 to June 20th. You'd think the dumb ass would have some smart people around him that would have advised him ahead of time that Juneteenth in Tulsa was a stupid idea

I think it was likely they knew, felt it was a good FU to BLM, and raw meat to their base. Didn’t expect the blow back they got because they are in the echo chamber. Had to be told by some more rational folks that it was a bad idea

It’s hard for rational people to parse out the motivations of chaotic, self involved bullies. Kind of like guessing why my Maine coon tries to sleep on my head. Is she trying to smother me? Likes the smell of my shampoo? Trying to wake me up so I’ll feed her? Narcissists are difficult that way.

Will be sad when he has to be put down. But their behavior is very interesting to observe. Hard to figure why they do things

He will more than make up for whatever he is trying to accomplish with his tone-deaf rallies...the RNC is coming to Jacksonville. Governor Boy Toy Sanctimonious is sooooo happy about it. Don't bet on anything even remotely like social distancing, face coverings or other safety measures. Our state leaders have no clue what the actual number of COVID-19 sick and dead are, because that would interfere with opening the state and the whole economy thing.
Oh, and let's not forget the statewide birthday rallies for his sorry Orangeness this weekend. Because what better way to sicken even more people than to do it in the name of the guy who could honest not give a crap about you:

I'm sure the streets of Florida celebrating trump's birthday will be littered with fine folks like these. A real rootin', tootin', and salutin' day of celebrations.

It's been nuts out there -- the police were out on US 1 at 4:30 this morning, blocking off the side roads so no one could park there and party on the Intracoastal Waterway. A few weeks ago, when the state reopened for boating and marine interests, the whole area was overrun with cars and boats, there was not an inch of space. I could see the sandbar out on the waterway was packed with people. No social distancing out there at all.

I am just waiting to see the lot of them show up at these birthday rallies, followed by trips to the ER and their crying relatives on TV about how sick they are, they're on ventilators and they can't see them and hold their hand and how awful it is that there's no vaccine....rinse and repeat. Maybe staying away from these gatherings and wearing those masks you love to hate so much would have prevented the suffering. But oh, no....we gotta be loud and proud Americans, we want our freedom to be the world's biggest buttholes.

If the baddies hadn't come to live of YOUR tax money there would be plenty to go around to pay for you. As I said - culling of the herd
