Since our Marshall's just reopened my daughter convinced me to go. I said if it was crazy, no way. They had someone outside counting the number of people going in and out. I would say 75% of the customers had masks on.
Surprisingly not too many customers- less than I have witnessed at the grocery store or target. I don't think I was within 10ft of another customer, except the checkout line which was 6ft.
EVERYTHING was on sale! It was social shopping for my daughter, but I did need new pants for a meeting tomorrow, and online ordering was not working. I know I have been a critic about things opening up. I'll take my lumps from whoever wants to criticize me. But I needed pants for an interview tomorrow that aren't pj or sweatpants! The Covid19 has hit my waist line!!

I won't criticize you for going shopping with safety measures.
I need to go shopping, also; but can't get myself to go. We will need to replenish our groceries.

I understand. If I get a job interview I'll have to go shopping too because I've gained about 20 pounds since staying at home.

Thanks bobos! I'm not telling anyone IRL that I have been/am interviewing. I actually found a really cute suit jacket for $20.

Thanks. I've had two recruiters reach out to me directly without solicitation for positions that just opened up that I might be a good fit for. So I'm feeling more hopeful now.

I don't know what industry/position you work in, but keep up with all recruiters as they have been reaching out over the past 2 weeks. Good luck on Monday!!

I'm debating about heading for Marshall's myself. I'm in Des Moines and it's open and I've been wanting to get some new underwear which I do NOT want to buy on-line. I can hold something up and see if it will fit without trying it on. I also like their food section- sometimes they have very good prices on boxes of granola bars, interesting spice mixes and flavored coffees.
My granddaughters pretty much haven't been out since mid-March and I'm so happy I've been able to get them out for haircuts and to Starbucks (pick out the items in the Starbucks in the grocery store and head straight back out to the car). I'm still a bit nervous venturing to places that I've avoided because so far (knock wood) what I've done has kept me safe, but I have to start somewhere.

I go back to work at White House Black Market next week. I'm sure everything that was brand new when the world closed is now on markdown, except the black, white, and blackandwhite stuff. The new collection is a whole different color so we definitely have some catching up to do. Plus, Semi-Annual is usually happening right now. I didn't think I could get any more sedentary than I had been in the Fall. Then COVID19 came along.
