rioting in the streets, the president is an "ally" of peaceful protesters but has them gassed and shot with rubber bullets so he can get a photo op holding up a bible at a church, then visits a Catholic shrine today, and the Dow is up more than 250.
People are declaring that they're "so over this pandemic stuff" as though if they just say the words, it's over with. CoVid-19 is barely mentioned even in passing on the news, so is it still a problem or not? Do we all just move along?

Don't forget Murder Hornets. And, @missrigby, here in the Midwest we've got a new variety of gnats, that can draw blood on a child. Talk about chasing everybody indoors! There is all sorts of crazy out there this year.

I feel like the social distancing ship has pretty much sailed. You're not going to get the states to shut down again either not without even more rioting. A lot of those rioters, oh I am sorry protesters, have automatic weapons that can do a lot more damage than a thrown brick.
There is also a new Ebola outbreak in the Congo. Cause why not?

I'd forgotten about murder hornets. And now a new breed of gnats? Ebola in the Congo. Swell.
The evangelicals are going to claim it's because of the Catholics because we aren't Christians. God's gonna get us. The only ones left will be members of the Westboro Baptist Church. And trump, of course.

And just for kicks and giggles...don't forget about the 17-year locusts that are emerging this year.

Same-sex marriage causes hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico and derechos around the country.

Dear me. There's so much to remember, and I'm old enough that my brain is already full to overflowing. I don't know where to put more stuff.

Keep my ID, debit card, insurance card in my back pocket, and since Levi's started shorting the front pockets a few years ago, I'm just sort of hamstrung. I don't even have a junk drawer.

One of our local weather guys out of Fort Smith has already hinted that Cristobal could possibly be coming straight at Arkansas after it makes landfall. We had that happen a few years a go and the remains of hurricane Ike tore trees and some houses apart. Count me out, it better turn.

Wisconsin Beth It happened from all the downsizing. Really. It wasn't intentional. Eventually I just ran out of space for stuff and had to start throwing out all those twist ties from the days before zipper sacks, matchbooks with only one match left, half-empty individual packs of Kleenex, birthday cake candles, old carryout menus, 2" square of 00 grit sandpaper...you know the stuff I mean. You aren't old enough to get rid of your junk drawer. You need it until there are grandchildren who got old enough to leave home...so that will be a few minutes yet. Anyway, DD has several junk drawers so if there's something that I need, I forage through hers.

I have two junk drawers and it's just me in the house. Out of both drawers I probably use three things from them on a regular basis. Maybe I need to clean most of the junk drawer and move the stuff to a junk box.

Dear me. There's so much to remember, and I'm old enough that my brain is already full to overflowing. I don't know where to put more stuff. A dear friend of mine is 82. I asked him once about wanting to live as long as possible, and he said he was really interested to see what happened in our country and if we make it to mars. I teased him the other day about how he's getting to see lots of interesting happenings he probably didn't foresee! His reply was something along the lines of ain't that the truth. It's weird to me how we can have people so concerned about the 'rona, and now (worldwide!) millions of people are gathering together to yell and share the 'rona... CNN had a great point the other day. The protests/riots will prove out COVID. It's either a nothingburger and was hyped, or there will be massive outbreaks. At this point, there's no "flattening the curve". I think it will be the latter, but will hope it is the former so we can all get back to having lives.

Damn, the last thing people need right now is hurricane and fire season. As for the junk drawer. I was bound and determined not to have one in my new house. Day 2 here, I had some random things like shipping tape, extra house keys, etc... Yep, I made it 1 day without a "random shit" drawer, as we call it in our family. lol To make things even worse - I have no real shed or garage space so I have my tools in my laundry room cabinets. This resulted in TWO of those horrible random shit drawers in there...

The way this year is going so far, I wouldn't be shocked if several major hurricanes hit the coast. It's just been one of "those" years. Countdown to New Year's Eve, anyone?

In SE TN near DS's house we had a bad tornado maybe a month ago, leveled many houses, killed some people. So there were homeless people trying to keep a social distance. This year sucks worse than any I can recall.
