I know I started a different thread about the meme that is going around.
This is a bit different in regards to kids having to wear masks. Everyone is bitching that their kids won't at school.
My comment was if your son is in a sport and has to wear a cup, which they play with, push around, are annoying, would your kid stop sports because they were forced to wear one. Or helmets, shin guards, face masks, pads. None of them are comfortable.
I get that masks suck! But my son wore one yesterday to go bowling with a friend. And yes he is an athlete so my comments above are based on him. But he loved sports so he complies

All the high schoolers I know are flexible. If schools require masks, those kids will make them a fashion statement. They will express their interests and things they love, and own it. The schools may print some with their mascot - show your spirit. The kids will adapt.
It is those adult jerks that can't see beyond their own buttholes.

... kids having to wear masks. ... As some communities in the United States open K-12 schools, CDC offers the following considerations for ways in which schools can help protect students, teachers, administrators, and staff and slow the spread of COVID-19. Schools can determine, in collaboration with state and local health officials to the extent possible, whether and how to implement these considerations while adjusting to meet the unique needs and circumstances of the local community. Implementation should be guided by what is feasible, practical, acceptable, and tailored to the needs of each community. link Masks protect so they are recommended.

In the news - I saw a little girl ask her mom to create a tiny mask for the tooth fairy to protect her from the virus.
Kids can adjust to all kinds of things - it depends on what is taught at home.

A friend’s daughter asked her mom to make her doll a face mask. The mom made one to match the daughter’s. It was really cute. Reminded me of the time DGD had surgery and a body cast. Her dad put her Barbie in a matching body cast

I cut masks from post-it notes and put them on our family portrait. My family didn't think it was nearly as hilarious as I do. Party poopers.

Probably 90% of the kids will wear masks because they are required. Another 5% won't because their parents say no one is going to impinge on their rights. And the final 5% won't because they don't want to follow rules. I am making up the numbers, of course, but there will be these three groups. And the teacher, who knows the masks are required, is going to have to deal with this controversy. And it won't be pretty. I had a student "cuss me out" because I wouldn't let him do something he wanted to do. And another student yell at him to "respect the teacher." And then there was me telling the second kid not to stand up for me because if there was a fight, I couldn't protect him. How many times have I said I am glad I am retired? Just telling the kids to wear masks isn't the same thing as all of them actually wearing them. Public schools aren't exactly the way that you remember them. There are a lot of students with problems, socially and developmentally, out there. More than a few have trouble with authority or following rules.

The dumb ass posts on FB skipped this part. Just bullet points making it appear that the CDC was controlling our lives
